- Planetside 2 is a fantastically massive MMO FPS game. Imagine Battlefield but instead of 30v30 its 4000v4000. We will be playing On the Colbalt 1 EU server today as the NCR and you can either join in on the fun by downloading the game and joining the Spiff Co outfit and taking your orders via our tea based chain of command. (Warning the chain of command has about as much stability as a sand castle in a tsunami...) It turns out we also broke the existing world record that this game set so hey you also get to see a guiness world record breaking zerg rush of over 1000 players!
What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.

I really hope that one day in the far future the concept of Planetside gets a new look and adapted as a new game. I spent hundreds of hours and hundreds of dollars on that game. I always thought a Warhammer Version of this concept would be fucking badass.

a lot of your fans/viewers kept playing later in the day, I literally just picked all these noobs for hours in my transports, THEY ARE FEARLESS!!! omg we were laughing at how crazy they were, you apparently taught them not to care about dying or being afraid of tanks, we saw countless noobies rushing at armor and overwhelming them and actually taking them out it was one of the best days of planetside in a while lol

Found the reviving more fearsome then the rushing. I couldn't stop laughing at how we kept mowing them down and them standing up again like nothing happened, like some undead.

@@LordDragox412 You can farm them easily. All you need is one mate, autoclick, main acc and farming acc that you will reskill, engineer turret and autoclick from that one mate to revive your secondary acc that you reskill over and over with engineer turret, running on auto click too.

@@GamerBoy870 There's no xbox version I'm afraid. PS4 and PC only, and those have no crossplay. PS2 doesn't need a high spec PC though, anything with a dedicated GPU from the past 5 years will run it, and even more recent integrated GPUs in laptops will run it.

Unlike quite a few massive streamers, Spiffing Brit went for a perfect strategy and attitude on how to do such a even in PS2. Just embrace the nubiness and craziness and give some directions on where to go. And he even had some tactical success while everyone enjoyed it!
Just get drunk and put a platoon waypoint somewhere. And listen to some really brain melting music.
Several conquerors in the past embraced this, although not all of them are well known, if known at all.
I love that he's rping the nc perfectly by not respecting the enemies enough to name them properly

used to play the game when the servers where always packed i remember the bridge over the crater in indar had hundreds of jet troopers jumping off and attacking it was fucking insane. one of my most memorable gaming moments

@@1upAcquired when was that? a year ago there was a pretty big hole in the servers but today due to the new updates u almost always have a lot of pop going on. exspecially to the main times there will be easily a thousand players and more on one continent

But see, it's the unity that counts. It's the coming together of hundreds, if not thousands, of players, all in one large continent (or four), all fighting it out to be the dominant faction. That's what matters, the fun and joy it brings, especially if you're drinking.

So, I swear. I was on this continent when you did this. You legitimately crashed our 92 man mega platoon with sheer lag. This game doesnt usually do this, I swear.
In wich server is this? Im very new to the game and i find it a bit hard sometimes, very chaotic and it gets a bit boring without friends or any kind of orders. Also, when i play i domt usually see big fights, not more than 20-30 people usually
@@ronwesilen4536 focus on emerald. This was UK server, but emerald is pretty active. I advice you either join someone like VCO, or 1st Terran (NC and TR respectively) and join them on operations. You will find good coordination and big boy fights.

@@ronwesilen4536 Cobalt is also a very good european server, I'm on there, too. You can join Outfits in the menu where you also find the map, the outfit-button is right in the middle. There you can manually search for Outfits you could join. In my opinion the better way to find a good , active outfit is by going to the social button on the right side of the menu. There you can click on search open platoons, see if any are online and join them. If they have an an active leader who does his job (communicating over squadchat!) then you can just ask him over voice or /tell [name] If his Outfit is active and if you could join them. There are some Outfits that have own Websites with applications, Others just have TeamSpeak or Discord Servers and no need for online applications. But no good Outfit rejects new Players that want to participate in active squad play. If you don't find a good platoon with a competent leader though, just join another one or search again for active Platoons later, if you're searching at a bad time. I also found my active Outfit by just joining random Platoons and then asking the leader if I could join them. Playing with a organized Outfit is the most fun you can have in Planetside! Aaaand C4-Flash. That's pretty fucking hilarious too
Yeah the numbers are impressive, but I'm more impressive by Spiff having consistent FPS

I've met quite a few toxic PS2 players, but the vast majority are really chill. I've made some pretty good friends while playing.

That was a hell of a show, glad to know my "anti air missiles" got a mention. I was sat a little ways off in a tank just firing at anything that flew in range.
With over 100 people in a small space I got killed mostly by allies shooting at 1 target, but I made a lot out of spam reviving everyone (think I even got you up a few times Spiff).
Definitely the MOST fun I've had in a while playing Planetside 2.

And before that, at the 2WW they had an immense massproduction surpassing the germans in numbers. By the end of the 2WW they produced over 60 000 T-34s which doubles the ammount of tanks produced by Germany.
6:40 look at the pie graph. Enemy units account for 25% of the population at the stronghold, despite there being 96+ enemy units. That means the NC has amassed 288+ units in the area, 6+ platoons.

As someone who has played PS2 a lot since 2012, I never dreamed that the game would see the kind of revival it's undergoing here in 2020.
Let's hope it stays like this now that the developers have turned a new chapter in the game (through this update and through their separation from Daybreak Games).

They are sitting on years of finished ideas that never got released and leftover stuff from Planetside Arena. Apparently the devs have hinted at the next update being a massive colossus tank similar to the bastion

The only unbalanced things in the game rn are the vulkan harasser is op, the NC max is underpowered, the dyanimo scout rifle is kinda op, and all the main battle tanks seem too watered down to be useful. Air to ground is kinda op but it has a high skill cap. Oh , teamwork is super op.

Used to be a pretty good mosquito pilot years ago. Figured the game would be dead by now. 😂
You missed all the fun... There were better times when you could build cortium structures, without a silo, and because buildings have no cortium silo, they will decay. You could repair decaying structures for absurd amount of xp. Three years ago, first time I've discovered it, I got 6 million xp in about 4 hours!
Year ago Russian outfit (which I was part of) ZERG found out about that exploit. Later that day they literally built 1km wide base full of decaying buildings. About 50 people were there! Many people activated squad xp boosters in total 200%. Not only we had 200% xp boost, but we optimized our xp gain with repair grenades, which could repair few buildings at once. I don't have to tell you how many xp people could farm like that.
Random enemies stumbled on our line of "defence" instantly grouped up and tried to raid this decaying graveyard, bringing tanks and mass writing support tickets. Sadly, fun didn't last long. 2 days later this feature was nerfed to the ground from 100-200 xp per tick to 10-20, and worst of all, some people fell for 2 week sleep from banhammer. Such is their fate for farming 40 million experience points.

That's really unfortunate. PlanetSide 2, when it all comes together, is untouchable. Games like Battlefield don't stand a chance when a battle in PlanetSide is revving at full throttle.

Hopefully you do planetside again with a bit more coordination. Definitely can be exploited further by a platoon of maxes from gals etc on already existing fights.

as a ps2 veteran i love seeing new players come and stay in this game, having a open squad and new players getting in and asking what to do, what this is for, or that is something that i didnt see in a long time and i love that

The Spiffco war strategy is exactly the same as Russia: the weight of thousands of raw conscripts thrown into battle will eventually overcome a more veteran yet smaller army, given enough time and ceded land.

I’d like to see him have generals and things of that sort. Get people assigned to a squad and give each squad a general. Spiff can only speak to the generals and the people in his own squad. I just think something along those lines would be great to watch

oh ye i started playing back in the day when totalbiscuit made it popular, then stopped almost immediately. this was a lot more fun as an introductory thing to do in the game.

As someone who has played a few thousand hours of Planetside, the footage here isn't unusual. That's just how the game is. This might have been a world record player count, but it was like 1300 people, when there are usually 1000. It's not less chaotic (or broken) with 20% fewer people. None of this footage looked particularly unusual to me...that's just Planetside.
Imagine youtubers just going against each other with all of their clouts in this game.

This actually happened years ago. TotalBiscuit(TR), Tobuscus(VS), and SeaNanners(NC) fought each other in the Ultimate Empire Showdown shortly after the game's launch (or was it during the Beta?).
It didn't go well, from what I heard.

Next time however they will be 900 very slightly more competent and experienced players who are mostly learning how to play (but only play when Spiff is streaming) plus the 20-40 players who joined the outfit who play regularly even when Spiff isn't streaming.

imagine just playing the game as seeing you have a numerical advantage on someone by 15 percent of forces. you get killed and you check again and suddenly their team has a 50 percent more numerical advantage than you.
