Mister Mister - Hey John and Team! Hope everyone's getting excited for Morbius! I have been looking forward to this movie for quite some time now, and tonight I FINALLY get to see it. Well, I was looking over the reviews for this movie prior to heading in, and honestly I'm a bit worried! I don't want this film to be bad, and I hope that when I come out of this movie I can salvage the good things about it has my key highlights of the film, but so far not much I've read looks promising. So my question is, what are your guys thoughts on the reviews, and where is your anticipation level for this film before heading into it? Thanks and BOTF!

I know it looked so goofy in the trailers. Jared Lego’s CGI transformation had me cackling in the auditorium when it aired ahead of The Batman.

I didn’t think it was terrible at all but it is far from good, it was okay enough for me and I liked it to a point but the post credits scenes were just plain dumb, made no sense.

Morbius was released in the UK today and i've seen it . The film was not amazing but I don't think it was unredeemable either . There are some good ideas that probably could have been fleshed out but I really have to give credit to the actors for not phoning it considering the material they were dealing with wasn't as fleshed out as it could have been . Matt Smith for me actually gave the stand out performance of the movie for me . In fact his performance made me wish that he had played Morbius instead of Leto. Not that Leto was bad he was serviceable I thought but Matt Smith stole the show for me in a pretty safe inoffensive by the numbers movie. Smith's villainous character was the most interesting character in the movie . All the cast to be fair did the best they could with not very deep material. All the actors really tried.
The movie has one good big horror moment but probably doen't delve into this aspect often enough throughout film. Also for a film about a character who is a 'living vampire' or beomes one there is not a lot of blood in this movie probably because Sony (or should I say Avi Arad) wanted it to be PG-13. Maybe I just feel slightly more positive about Morbius because I had very low expectations due to reviews.
Saw Morbius last night... It's boring, made out back from 2004, 4dx made it entertaining (somehow). The post-credits scenes made me do a facepalm. A Sony movie Sonyier than Venom 2. I hope they don't put Garfield with this MorBS.

I like the energy of the current 4-person crew. They seem to be having a lot of fun and laughs in this video.
Back in the John + Rob days, the discussions were more serious and academic in a way. Now we get the same John + Rob discussions, but now the addition of Kris and Ray also add a new dynamic to these shows.
I keep getting recommended John's older 2-man videos and they're great but did feel far more serious and somewhat lacking if I'm honest.

I think Sony was as surprised as everyone else by the success of Venom, and got a little overconfident and took the wrong lessons from it.
Now they may need to course correct again if this ends up being as big of a disaster as it’s shaping up to be.
Depends on whether it is profitable or not . As long as Sony's Marvel spin offs are produced by Avi Arad there won't be much or any improvement in quality . Sony needs to force Avi Arad out of its non MCU live action Marvel property movie. All Avi Arad cares about is film ticket tales and merchandise he doesn't care about quality from the evidence I have seen.
Time to move onto the next highly anticipated MCU proper Vampire film.... BLADE!

Agreed, you need to make him like a demon(scary). No anti-villian rubbish will pass. If these are villian stories then give us a villian. This is why Joker worked. Venom made money but it was whatever and same issue... it needed to get deeper and creepier into a brain eating creatures head.
All this MCU stuff is holding back sony from making solid villian movies.
Imagine being Sony executive, looking at a white board of all the sipderman villains and picking Morbius...! Just sell Spiderman to marvel already Sony can't be trusted.

I don't know what Duran Duran song that other guy was referencing, but the way Campea was saying "Morbius" instantly made me think of pro wrestling. Specifically the theme song for current wwe (I think he's still there, I haven't watched in years) superstar Robert Roode. It's a very catchy number called "Glorious Domination" and when Campea said something towards the end about whether the movie will be terrible or GLORIOUS, that just solidified it for me. John Campea is a Bobby Roode fan, whether he knows it or not.

Maybe someday this movie can aspire to the ranks of movies that are so bad it's good? I haven't seen it yet, so I hope.
Saddest thing about this is that people think it's a Marvel movie. Feige would NOT have released it. He must really hate Sony right now.
I hate all of Sony's misleading advertising. They know they average person won't know that Feige and crew are being the success of Spider-man, not Sony. If I was Marvel, I'd do the best I can to start creating separation, especially with the multi-verse.
I never intended on seeing it but after i watched some of your videos talking about it i was thinking about it but now I can't be less interested so I'm going to wait and see sonic the hedgehog 2 instead i can't wait to see that movie

This movie was bad and a complete april fools joke. The editing was so jarring it was neckbreaking while also boring.
But the ad campaign was complete false advertising which makes this a true april fools joke

I watched Morbius and it was an enjoyable film. I recall the character from the Spider-Man cartoon during the 90s. The nostalgia was great.

If if the critics are saying it bad, It must be somewhat enjoyable then. I mean as of late when critics say A Sony move is bad or boring, I tend to enjoy it and the audience usually enjoys it too ( Venom, Venom Let there be carnage, Uncharted)
I heard that Morbius is basically a short movie. It should have been longer. But maybe they just wanted an origin story for Morbius and then focus more on him later.

The death knell (all puns intended) was rung on Morbius if the editors truly were instructed to remove all lifelines to other Marvel characters. It is sad to see Morbius suck, as he is such a long lived antihero (1971 intro in comics). What was the life span (last pun) of the deal with Sony?

I’m more in line with Rob’s review takes over John’s, but both of them are still quite good and on par with how I feel about a movie. So it’ll be interesting to see what they think of Morbius… I’m expecting both of them to say it’s mediocre and not much else.

Glad they appear to be taking out the stuff that connects it to the MCU, because I'd be happy if they to keep this crap away from Feige and his franchise. And same goes for Venom, although I know a lot of people enjoy those films. Of course, No Way Home has pretty much already killed Tom Holland interacting with this botched Sony side franchise.

I was given a free movie ticket today. Had a choice between this and Sonic 2, I chose three later, and I was not exactly a big fan of the first one but the trailers have looked better and reception has been a lot better (even if still pretty tepif in the grand scheme!)

This movie felt like any particular scene was made up of shots and lines from any of 12 different scripts. It's very, very weird how bad it is. Oddly enough, Matt Smith was great (but his CGI looked like I Am Legend) and Leto really was good as the character. I would legit like to see the character himself again, just completely forget this movie happened.

They were successful without MCU with Spider-man into the Spider-verse, Venom, and first two Sam Rami's Spiderman trilogy. It's basically a hit or miss with their films.
I actually was never excited for Morbius. I was one of those people that didn’t think the trailers where that good.

I really enjoyed the film I think the trailers threw it off because of all the false advertisement but after hearing they gut that part sure I was disappointed but I left the exceptions at the door and enjoyed it… post credit scenes was screwed up
