I had no idea that the arcade version of UNIST used to have a different opening before all of the newcomers were added. I assumed that the arcade version of UNIST always had its complete roster, but it turns out that the last characters weren't added until version 3.30, which weren't even released until after the console versions had already introduced them first. I wonder how many arcade-goers were left completely unaware that new characters were added simply because they were conditioned to expect the game's title to change with each major addition? Then again, I suppose expanding the roster to get people to buy the console release and then backporting the content back to the arcades afterwards weren't exactly an uncommon tactic back then.
