Sometimes it is the simple things that get most overlooked. Thanks for sharing.
Sir thanks for this post finally got my wireless G3 mic working God Bless :)
THAANK YOU! This really helped me. I thought I needed to disassemble it !
Thank You! This was so helpful!
Hey have you got any help in fixing the power button with a ew100 g2? I've been given one where the power button's been pushed in and broken the switch. I've pulled the bottom case from the mic, but unsure how to separate the circuit boards to work on it. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!
I have the same problem but I have not clean out the battery post yet, but I hope it will work...
what size tx screw do you need? Mine microphone is stuck on mute and i think its because of the connection between the mic head and body. have you encountered this?
Have a ew100 g3 here. I can't disassemble the bottom part of the mic. How to do that. The one you are holding at 3:15
This is amazing! Definitely solved some of my issues! I've had my e865 for many, MANY years (I'd say since about 2009??), and my LCD screen is.. well, it lights up to the orange screen, and there are a few black pixels on the bottom left, but the text is not displaying 😭No abuse, and I'm the only one that uses it: it hasn't been dropped recently, and I can see no visible damage to the screen covering. It just stopped working one day. I've finally managed to get it off mute (thanks to this video!) but I am unable to change the sensitivity of the mic itself: I'm guessing this would need to be sent in for repairs?
yes probably so, IF they would actually repair it. Thanks for the comment
This fixed it for me. Thank you!
Great! Glad it helped... Thanks for watching
Hey Rick,
I'm gonna preface my question with this - I don't have a ton of experience with electronics, but I'm somewhat handy, so I've figured out how to get mostly to this spot in deconstructing the mic.
I had a gig last weekend where a drunk wedding guest knocked my mic from my hand, and I couldn't get the mic to turn back on. When I took it apart, one of the circuit boards came out and the other is still in the bottom of the mic. Also, there is a white striped plastic strip with a blue tip that seems to have disconnected from the other circuit board. Can you help me fix this issue?
Hard to explain this but that is a strip of wiring. There are 2 little tabs on the circuit board connector that you pull back. Then insert the ribbon cable into the connector and push the little tabs back. They are the lock that holds the cable in place.
Edward Weltevreden: I have 3 EW135G3 handheld transmitters that wont work. one is turning on but gives a message" incompatible capsule. and the other two wont turn on. I have checked the lips in the battery compartment ass you mentioned. With one of the units one of the lips is broken. with the other unit nothing is damaged but it still wont turn on.
Corrections the transmitters are EW100G3
How did you get off the cylinder housing? (the biggest metall part you hold in your hand)..Thanks...
Nizeplay Productions you have to de-solder the board and it comes out from the top.
Do you have a video on how to dissaemble the mic?
Do I have to take off the antenna fin before removing the display cover?
I do not have a video, but I will de solder the antenna lead from the circuitboard and remove the fin when I work on them.
I've only gone and pulled out the connection for the antenna and can't get that part ot the circuit board out, do I need to get the screws out at the bottom to do that?
You will have to de solder to get the antenna off and resolder when done.
hello, how are you, I would like to know if the spare parts of 100g3, serve me for my skm300g3, antenna
Not to my knowledge
Hi, I have a microphone from SENNHEISER (ew 135 g3) But when I turn it on, it works for 10 seconds and then the receiver goes MUTE, and it no longer receives the signal from the transmitter. can you help me? hug
umm, no hug please... lol Seriously tho, make sure your pilot tone is turned on at the receiver and ensure the mic is on the same bank, channel and frequency as the receiver. Good Luck
We had the same issue, it would turn on but would not transmit. We noticed that the three tiny screws around the battery section got loose and it would prevent the battery part of the transmitter from screwing in all the way into the transmitter. And thus will prevent capsule from contacting the transmitter. Used some blue threadlocker on all 3 screws and problem solved. Also make sure that capsule is screwed in all the way.
hi my name is hien i wander i just got the use one, i fine out it not power on , putting the battery it hot ?thanks

Short circuit
Hello. My microphone does not turn on the display; the inverter generates 5 volts but the processor oscillator does not start.
You got me on that one... Maybe a problem on the component level. May have to check every component on the board if you wanna try to fix it. Lots of time involved, Good luck
during the moment of power on we have momentary signals of SDA and SCL ??
It does not generate any signal.
Thanks, you saved me from throwing mine away
Great! Glad this helped
Mine have a power but the receiver does not receive any signal from the microphone. When I tried to touch it, it sent a grounding sound and the AF in the receiver moves. Do you think the capsule is broken?
It's possible. The capsule will unscrew and you can try one from a known good mic
@@rickcperry thank you. We'll try to do that. Do you think I can use a capsule from a dynamic mic?
@@jumpstartnow0324 no you must use one designed for the mic.
Was ur batteries getting hotter nd if i disassembled it will it void warrenty please reply
Not getting hot, just no connection to turn on the unit. Yes if you disassemble the unit as I did, you will void the warranty. This unit was not under warranty.
@@rickcperry okay thanks for the help but mine is brand new used on one function only
The contact point is flat when i tried to add aluminium foil to make contack it get hot
my mic lcd is blank, should i change lcd, also where to get it ?, thanks for video
If it wasn't dropped or abused, you probably have a bad controller on the mic. Even a bad LCD will usually have something on the screen.
It wasn’t dropped or misused, suddenly lcd stopped working, i reconnected lcd still no display, which controller ? 🤔
Hi there, I have the same Mic but for some reason I can't get it to unmute. Do you know how I can solve this problem?
Make sure the pilot tone is enabled and verify the mic and receiver are on the same channel and frequency.
@@rickcperry Just checked all that and pilot tone is activated and the mic and receiver are on the same channel and frequently but still saying muted. Also tried to reset the mic and still saying muted. Not sure why
@@isaacrichards2190 found one thing with a google search… maybe something else to check…. On the transmitter, ensure that under advanced settings the mute button is enabled and set to AF Mute,
if the mic is turned on but in a few seconds it will turn itself off, what is the estimated damage to the part?
There may be a component on the board starting to short to ground. Make sure you test with brand new batteries, not rechargeable ones. The battery level indicator isn't really designed to properly show the battery life of the recharge ones.
@@rickcperry I have installed a new battery. maybe you are right in saying there is a component part that is short to ground. does that mean I just have to check the components that are directly connected to the battery?
I should have checked this video first instead of opening the assembly.
I did the exact same thing! Live and learn I guess
My microphone can’t turn on and off
Who can fix less Mỹ know . Pl
I would send it to Sennheiser and have them fix it
@@rickcperry they don’t fix for G2
@@ThienPham-kj3yo Oh ok, that's not good. Maybe try to find one on Ebay because repair cost may exceed the value of the mic. good luck
