thank you so much! 💕 I usually have a theme in mind (in this case it was serena’s “devils”: her mother, and fred) and then I’ll look for a song that fits the theme and mood, though sometimes it’s the song that inspires the theme. after that it’s a process of piecing things together as I edit. I like having a consistent “storyline” so the video feels cohesive, and because I know most of the quotes and scenes by heart (from spending so much time editing them) I just have to go through the serena folder in my brain to figure out what the next piece is. it’s as if the video already exists in my head in a very scattered and foggy way, and by editing I’m organizing my thoughts and sculpting them into an actual tangible thing that I can then share with you guys. hope this made some sense!!
