Serena was born for this life and June was made in it. They're both opposite sides of the same battered coin. And this video shows that. What a gorgeous edit!!!

Sometimes, we become what we wish to destroy. I don’t think June is Serena. I think their circumstances and actions are very different, however there are still many interesting parallels. I think June was sucked in by the same misery that Serena has within herself. While, Serena is tortured, June is even more so and most of it was by Serena’s hands. Hopefully, she can find who she is again. That will be a big step towards her actually healing.

It was so satisfying to see these scenes 0:37 edited back to back bc i fucking lost it when june said that in the last episode. There's so so so much I absolutely love about this, but 2:14-end with that voiceover made me combust.

No one can continue to be all good when put through the life that June has. These lines of morality had to be blurred for her because of her circumstances and traumatic experiences. June has changed, although she will never be Serena

This is brilliant and the parallels are too similar to discount. We have all watched June turn savage and vicious--I love that you started with Eleanor Lawrence--for me, that's when she went over to the dark side. This is so well done. I love all of your videos but this one feels important to me--it's too easy to demonize Serena, when truly, everyone in Gilead is driven to do unspeakable things.

The parallels are EVERYTHING it shows so much growth and regression and how complicated these 2 are supposed to be, I'm seriously in love with your video you just nailed four seasons of change in a few minutes, it's incredible.
June morphed into Serena kinda by a self-defense mechanism, and it's just tragic and exciting to watch at the same time. She doesn't know or want to think she is describing herself, and neither do we. It's chaos, but like some comments below said I do think June deserves healing and redemption, while I don't mind keeping Serena as an antagonist. I love her character as she is, and honestly, I do think June's description is correct: there is anger, and then nothing inside (so tragically poetic I'm not even making sense right now)
But, again and a million times over, thank you for all your videos, you have no idea how great (ironically) they make me feel

June's hurt people. June raped Luke, covered his mouth and held him down.

This edit is AMAZING, I still love a lot of these parallels and truly believe they have similar cores in their brutality and humanity, but on the direct comparison: I agree - I feel that a handful of June's dark moments here are in reaction/revenge to real damage other people have caused (for example her screaming "do you understand me" was after that other handmaiden got another person killed, her screaming at Serena for all her abuse), or from trauma (her raping Luke) - killing in the name of survival [and revenge I admit] (mostly abusers)/saving many others by helping them escape the regime (allowing Mrs. Lawrence to die), whereas while Serena did plenty in the name of survival, many of her moments are for personal gain, power, or feeling of superiority - screaming/beating someone for being annoying, disobedient, etc.
I think your reasoning is quite twisted in equating the two, without taking into account any context or intention. Yes, June has done violent, even cruel things. She had reasons for doing them, namely that justice for women in and surrounding Gilead is completely absent. Serena simply wants power and people to have power over (mostly in the form of a child).
