    That’s my green FJ that I sold at 3:30. I’m planning on buying some from vin again but trying them on my K5 Blazer. The FA16, Ray10’s or F5’s I’ll be trying on. I met Vin about 10 years ago and we wheeled a few times. He’s definitely a cool guy.

      Hah!! Small world, that's so freakin' cool. Thank you for taking the time to comment and tell that info. He really seemed like a cool guy to me as well. Your FJ was sweet! Thanks again, that's awesome.

    Are you running spacers ? I have the same set up but 265/70/17 with 1.25 spidertrax & I am sitting flush but I’m running into a issue where I want to do 255/80/17s & im afraid they will be sucked in & not flush with fender

    • @TheChapMX
      @TheChapMX  Před 3 měsíci

      Hey Anthony, no spacers. What wheels are you running now? They may sit in a tad bit but a 265 to a 255 is only 10mm difference in width. So you're talking 5mm less towards the fender. I don't know that you'd notice that much difference, its just going to look like a much slimmer width tire since it will be slightly taller compared to the width. Hope that helps.

    Hi man, nice Vid, it does give a lot of info to SCS newbies... Have your heard/read of fitting issues of r16 F5s into 3rd gens with the Tundra Break Uograde? i know of a guy who went r17, but I would love to keep my 4RNR r16

    • @TheChapMX
      @TheChapMX  Před rokem +1

      I prefer 16s as well and have read mixed things. I’m pretty sure if you went with a -25mm offset that would clear them fine. I will do a bit more reading and report back but I do remember seeing that. Thanks for the compliment!

      @@TheChapMX any update on fitting 33’s with the 16x8 -25mm offset?
      Im getting a 3 inch lift kit installed and want to get f5’s
      Do you know if they rub with the lift?

    • @TheChapMX
      @TheChapMX  Před rokem +1

      You will have to do some minor trimming and adjusting, mostly in the back of the fender. If you have limited flares you will have to do a small bit of trimming for those. I have another video where I go over trimming for 33s, I think its the part three I did on the lifted issues. But what I was commenting on as far as clearing is the brake calipers. I know the Tundra calipers are quite a bit bigger than the stock ones so the 16s could be tight. Through some reading it looks like the 199mm rotors will fit under 16s. If you go with the bigger 231mm's, you will need 17s. Hope that helps.

      Hey man! This is what I have: amzn.to/3Vg8rZn
      They are 285/70-17s. A 285/75-16 will work too. Perfect size for a lifted 3rd Gen.

  • @CooperWood-xy3dh
    @CooperWood-xy3dh Před 4 měsíci

    What size tires and do you have any rubbing issues?

    • @TheChapMX
      @TheChapMX  Před 4 měsíci

      on the purple wheels (17x9 -38mm) I have 285/70-17s. They did rub the fender flare in the front and the body in the back. I trimmed the flare and that clears but I do still have slight rubbing in the rear even after folding the pinch weld. Its not bad, only full crank in reverse. With the 16x8 -12mm grey wheels with 285/75-16s, there is no rubbing whatsoever.

  • @paradigmnine
    @paradigmnine Před rokem +1

    I was just looking at these but it seems like mainly the restocks are -38. with 33's, hows the fitment on a normal flared 3rd gen?

    • @TheChapMX
      @TheChapMX  Před rokem +2

      They will have another refresh coming soon so don’t get something if it’s not what you really want. But to answer your question there will be some trimming required most likely. Not bad but I would have to guess. They will sit with the same stance as a 16x8 F5 -25mm offset. I’ve got a picture of a red 4Runner in my part three video that has that exact wheel. Hope that helps and if not let me know and I’ll dig further

    • @TheChapMX
      @TheChapMX  Před rokem +2

      In addition, I may have a set of -38s on the way so…will be able to give personal experience soon! May be too late for what they have in stock but still, I will report back.

      Hey man, once more question if you can help me out. Will 285/75/16 fit with the 16x8 -25mm offset? With trimming of course. I messaged SCS and they said I only require a pinch weld mod to prevent rubbing. I’m terrible with wheel offsets and tire sizes so the help would be appreciated.
      Just not too sure what exactly to get.
      I’m getting my 3rd gen lifted this weekend 3 inch.
      Thanks!
