I listened to the entire podcast, and watching zero for so long, I know how good of friends they were, and it’s really sad to see your best friend throughout ur smash career just drop you. He also said “if the roles were swapped, I would’ve found a way to talk to him privately” and that’s just really sad man, losing a good friend really sucks.😢

Yeah mew2king is basically saddled with Asperger's (heard it somewhere, but maybe it's a rumor) ...and that makes him struggle socially... My assumption would be that MTK will talk to zero once his sponsorship deal has ended. Which is shitty, because money, while you may not have it, isn't truly everything...MTK may never realize that...and he'll never realize that money and friends have differing priorities. I wanna call MTK a shitty person, but maybe he isn't mentally capable of understanding why.

So what exactly is tasteful about showing up to his doorstep unannounced? Obviously M2K wasn't expecting ZeRo to be there, so it is not like he had an opportunity to prepare himself.
I think Sky made a good point during the podcast. M2K put tens of thousands of hours in to this game and expected nothing back and now that he is finally making a living off of a passion that he never expected to he is extremely nervous (especially given his personality) of losing that if he decides to associate with you. That being said, I think he could have communicated through DM's if he felt comfortable enough but he is probably trepidatious about the entire situation. I hold out hope that he will reconnect with you at some point in the future.

No way he's gonna give that up. He has to play ball with the smash community to stay on good terms with his job.

If you think isolating people who have this kind of issue is a solution, you will only create more of it. Also, m2k is already talking to someone that associates with Zero. Listening to Sky's POV, you guys have to understand M2K's side. This dude has no good way to make money. He needs money. His twitch has less than 100 viewers.
If anyone's to blame, it's the sponsors. And even then, it's not really the sponsor's fault either. Zero's name is in the mud and if a sponsor has any kind of contact with zero, they risk backlash from zero's antis and the smash community.
So really, the smash community's to blame for their split up. If m2k had enough money to live comfortably, I too, would believe m2k wouldn't care. He'd still be friends with zero. But as he said, very plain and simple, "I'll lose my sponsor". In other words, "I need the money badly".
M2K is a good person, but even good people have their obligations.
Yeah but there is also the fact that he is boring to watch, playing with zero would give him more views anyways, also dedicating your life to a videogame without considering the future money complications is bananas, having a sponsor is not the only way to make bank, some people are so used to be called gods that they actually believe others have the obligation to maintain them without having an actual job.

I hear that, but some things are more important than money. If he's treading such a thin line by relying on sponsors to keep the lights on and losing friendships for it, he might as well get a 9-5 job like the rest of us because that's just a sad way to live. I'm embarrassed for him, and embarrassed for people excusing his actions because he's autistic or other similar reasons. You don't turn your back on your friends, especially on someone who despite not having his support during the accusations was still willing to reach out to him, only to have the door closed on his face.
M2K is a trash friend and a trash person because of it.

It's sad that that's the way it is but there's nothing you can do. I agree that friends are incredibly important but there's a limit to how much you should sacrifice for them, he should have reached out privately though.
Besides, a real friend would accept giving up contact with someone if it meant that their friend person could keep doing what they depend on to live and what makes them happy, which is what ZeRo seems to have done

It's sad but it's understandable, at least in M2K's case. He's been talking about how he hasn't been doing the best financially, so losing his sponsors, even to rekindle an old friendship, most likely isn't on his list of priorities. If he was a lot more financially stable, who knows? But at the same time, the Smash community is fickle.

Juggling four characters right now and it's something that has required a ton of energy for me. I'm debating dropping Corrin and Cloud and just going back to only using Roy and Aegis like I used to, but I picked up Cloud and Corrin because of how fun they were to play and it sucks to drop a character I've put so much time into. It's like an eternal character crisis. I started out in Ult with Roy+Young Link+Palutena. Then about seven months in, I switched to Roy+Wario+Pokemon Trainer. In the quarantine era, I went back down to only two characters with Roy+G&W. After that I was grounded for a while (this was before I became an adult), and when I was finally ungrounded, all DLC except Sora came out, so I tried them and really clicked with Aegis, so I added them. About a year and a half ago, I added Cloud, and finally most recently, I added Corrin about three months back and I really think I should drop down again.
Moral of the story, don't be like me. The only good thing about my story is that one character stayed the entire time, and most of that is because I've been maining Roy since he was shit in smash 4 and immediately decided I'm maining him again after finding out no one got cut from the roster.

I’m Christian, but I would say I’m pretty chill in my beliefs, I don’t force my beliefs yet I don’t fall for all the Mumbo jumbo people get absorbed in sometimes. I only mention this to relate it to what we are talk about. I have been told many times I hate lgbtq , but these people hardly know me or the ones that did know me were to scared to talk to me because they were a afraid of me “ recording “ them .. aka everyone who has social media feels like anything they say can be used against them instead of there true worth and intentions.
Pewdiepie is a great example of a person who has said things in the past, but people see the 1000 good things instead of the 1 and realize “ my boy doesn’t really believe that” and they move on.

I had some of the people who were at the helm of the lgbtq and other lies come to me. Some cried in despair, sorry for what they did. Some dig their head deeper in the ground of standing up for some false utopia that will never be possible, and that everyone who doesn’t agree with them is in the way of that sed utopia.

The EVO incident did more damage to the entire community than I think anything else ever could have done. And due to such even eons after it's clear most were either innocent or at least not as bad as assumed, the public is never going to let it go, and sponsors/e-sports groups don't want to be labeled as "letting 'those types' exist or 'infest' their group to lose any money or chances for tournaments". And honestly, Smash hasn't really been the same since so many essentially got unperson'd due to it, and many will not even try to look beyond the original incident because people have been trying to look for any reason to clown on Smash since it started to become more popular since Sm4sh got revealed.
My one, only wish is that when/if we get a Smash 6, we can get a clean fresh start for everyone to start from there, and basically give everyone a "you get one chance to show you have changed/are better now and fit to actually not be a problem" card. So if anyone continues to be a problem, then it's done for them period, but those who actually either got wronged or have vastly improved can at least attempt to make up for it instead of being eternally demonized because the internet is too twitter-brained right now and thus in eternal angry mob state.
I'm not super into the Smash community, but I have to say, Mew2King gotta eat too. If getting back into contact with Zero means that he loses his financial stability then I can't really hold it against him.

I’ve found that people who focus on unimportant things like gaming can often get their priorities mixed up and be bad friends. I say this because I’ve done this, and I’ve seen it happen on a way worse scale as well. It’s clear you’ve begun prioritizing much more important things in life and it makes people uncomfortable.
