Tim: C’mon man. You know how to pronounce Kyoto correctly. Otherwise good review. You have (and are selling) the watch before some of us received ours. MING is way behind schedule. It is painfully slow.

For the most part, there's not much we can do about the butchering of Japanese pronunciation. I won't die on a hill to ensure the proper pronunciation of "karaoke" or "tsunami". But this case was different. Tim is a smart guy and always makes a good faith effort at the correct pronunciation of non-English words. He almost sticks "Shizukuishi". That's why this video was such an aberration.

Yes hyped. Yes can be overpriced. But gems like 17.09 changed the watch game permanently which foe a watch priced below 2k is remarkable
Name a cheaper 100m wr titanium true gmt that looks as good with this much quality finishing and attention to detail?
Mings are for sure artificially scarce and well marketed but few watches carry this design quality, aesthetic beauty, tasteful originality or residual values. Nor can many brands claim to have changed the game the way ming did with the 17.09 (guilochet detail and laser engraved sapphire that so many have since copied).
