My Party Favorite Sobolo/ Sorrel/ Bissap/ Zobo/Hibiscus Tea.

- This has been the year of home remedies and immune boosting teas. Sobolo, bissap, sorrel, hibiscus tea or whatever you call it, has been very popular this year. I’ve always loved my sobolo and a few months ago, while talking to my mum, she told me about the additions she’s made to her recipe and asked that I try it. Simply amazing! So of course, I had to share this with you all. I hope you’re able to toast the new year with a glass this.
Ingredients:
10 grams hwentea (negro peppers or grains of selim)
2 teaspoons cloves
2 dried chili peppers
1 teaspoon black peppercorns
140 grams fresh ginger root
1 whole pineapple
2.5 cups dried hibiscus flowers
3-4 pieces of calabash nutmeg
1 ⅓ cups honey
⅓ cup sugar - Jak na to + styl

Great recipe, am from the caribbean and we make this drink especially at christmas time. I have never tried it with pineapple but we make it similar. I use cinnamon sticks and a few grains of cloves and add a bit of rum and it's amazing. I will definitely try the pineapple

you can make it as tea as well by just adding three of the flowers to a four cups of water and ginger . bring it to boil then sieve it and add your preffered sweetner

The Prayers at the end gave me goosebumps.....spices in zobo - interesting. For years my family only uses ginger, pineapple and other fruits. Will try this new one out and feed you back. I made your “roasted stew” today by the way, and it is finger licking good. Please do a tutorial around how you use your pressure cooker - you made me buy one. May 2021 bring us peace, Joy, and increase on all sides. Amen.
In Ghana we add those spices and pineapple to make our sobolo
