Its called Adenaur Forst a s bend. Its a relative easy section, there are worse sections and serious accidents do happen. This section catches inexperienced drivers out in the middle of the s bend when they realise to late the left hand bend. Theres a nice map on Wikipedia showing were the section is. Its very early on a lap, but I think a lot of drivers get rattled a bit here and realise this is serious
The main reason is the point that road kinks left is actually on a crest, which means you think the road is going straight ahead until it’s too late. By the time you actually SEE the road goes left you are going too fast and hit the brakes hard losing control or just go straight over the grass. It looks strange from the YT videos because this camera angle makes it look relatively flat with good visibility but driving a car uphill towards the camera is very very different indeed.
