I hope people take notes from Minus One, cause my biggest issue with the Monsterverse movies is the human element. Its so boring and it doesn’t have to be, if you took out the human element out of this movie, it actually gets better.
They won't, unfortunately the overwhelming toxic positivity is telling Hollywood Godziila fans just want to mindlessly consume product.

TBF, there are some terrible movies that are still much loved.

For reference, the Showa Era has its own continuity, and the Heisei Era has its own continuity. The Millennium Era is mostly their own movies with two having continuity with some Showa movies and a Heisei movie. But yes, the Godzilla franchise has multiple different continuities with multiple different movies, comics, tv series, etc.
I though it was a great movie

Skar King couldn't leave anytime because there weren't any portals to the surface in his subterranean part of Hollow Earth. And that was his scouting party that trashed Monarch's Hollow Earth Station, they were looking for a portal to the surface but couldn't find it. Also, the BEAST glove, Project Powerhouse, was stored in an armory Monarch built in a mountain near the station; that's how Skar King's scouting party couldn't find it.
The thing you said just tells me you didn't watch the movie, 1. The portals were hidden meaning they knew nothing about it, 2. Skar King just came across the post and destroyed it for fun he wasn't looking for the glove because you wanna know why? He didn't know existed.

I'd argue that it's way more than just the Showa Godzilla films that are goofy. Out of all the Godzilla films, maybe 2 or 3 are well written.
That Wu-tang rendition by the Little Platoon was hilarious. I refuse to believe a sentient human being wrote that crap.
I called GXK slop and some smooth brain actually argued that slop doesn't mean bad.🙄
I can't stand rap, but I could listen to Ploots rap all day. 🤣

You literally argued that the Godzilla fanbase should have gatekept people that are just interested in the action 60 years too late and were rightfully showed the door.
At this point the franchise is equally defined by several different kinds of movies and it's pointless to argue there's one that is "right".
I'm baffled that your review got so much hate when it was great! Glad you're unfazed by it, and looking forward to seeing the same gremlins in Platoon's comment section
But he literally misinterpretend key elements from the plot.
Like how the scene at the beginning was to show Kong's loneliness.
Or that the Iwi pyramids and Skar King's lair are not in the same layer of the Hollow Earth.
I left a negative comment just because how salty he was getting. I just wanted him to get more upset so I could laugh more

I don't think anyone is expecting GxK to be a good movie, but I'm expecting to still enjoy it and will catch this BSUP at some point after watching - because you guys are worse than Chris Gore for spoilers!

I thought monarch was actually a cool show. Exept for one episode, It does the human thing well but then you get people complaining there's not enough monster's. cant win

I adore Godzilla as a franchise, I've watched the whole franchise through several times. But I can accept they are mostly bad movies from an objective stance. I just love them. And I don't fault people for not liking them. I even walked out of the theater here and said "wow this movie was absolutely silly," but I loved it.
Thank you. I feel there is a large contingent of Monsterverse fans that are a bit like the Snyder Bros. The only difference is that Monsterverse fans don't really demand better and Snyder cultists insist his work is deeper than it's given credit for just because the characters look right

Daddy Jay Mac seems to appear everywhere lol I think Godzilla x Kong is trying to be Sharknado but like most movies they don't know what to do with the humans in a movie and don't believe people can watch a silent movie or no subtitles
There is an argument for, "It isn't supposed to be high art", but there are great movies that are not "High Art". This is a shitty movie that isn't high art, either.

to make that torture with the Wu-Tang lyrics complete, you need to force platoon to listen to it rapped on a beat and then try and re-create that somehow^^ but that would be against theh geneva-convention.... yes it sounds incredibly --not -good when you read it , but when the wu-tang raps it, it--somehow sounds good-- i promise^^ but anyway.. after Brolins poems, you can survive anything!!!

And in lofti's case, you repeatedly puts forward an option, only then to see it ripped apart by one of the others in seconds, instead of defending his position, he immediately collapses. That means he didn't think it though befor he spoke. Hence ripping on him.

You guys got to review _Asphalt City_ because irrespective of having mini me in it (I forgot his name... there are no men that old in the service because we all get chewed up fast... not Bono, but same shite guy... Shawnasee Penn), the FDNY EMS stuff was the closest I've seen to reality, INCLUDING our patients. It's only 80% accurate, but that's better than Mahdahm Webfish or whatever tf that chick movie abomination was, which was at most 15% accurate. and only on Sundays and Wednesdays.
Notice in the Asphalt City movie, the Paramedics were even wearing the right Medic white patches on their shoulders... they used BVMs to ventilate patients... no EMS worker ever goes into a burning building, we have the dingbats on the fireside to do that crazy stuff. We have no problem waiting for our patients to be brought out to us at our staging areas. Also there were never Rapid Trauma Assessments made prior to treatment that I saw with any of the patients, and with multiple gunshot wound victims, (esp one with a sucking chest wound, we would have detected that early with auscultating the lungs during our rapid trauma assessment, derp...) we're on scene max 10 mins (I was off scene in 5 or less and at the hospital in a total of 10 mins) and we long boarded the patient and did our work en route to a trauma hospital with a note to get the hospital staff ready...
But overall, much more realistic than I've seen in my adult life... if they think this will act as a recruitment video for FDNY EMS they are wrong... that was too realistic for normal ppl or ppl like myself to KNOWINGLY subject themselves to for such low pay (low income wages... now in Cali you can make more working at McD's and maybe in NYC too.... though being an illegal immigrant getting my take home pay of 2,100/month doing nothing is the best choice and how much I took home when I worked FDNY EMS said 2x to drive it home, unlike the guy trying to intubate his patient, ffs. Total time for me to intubate a patient 30-60 secs including set up, they're not breathing during that time... so need to be fast.)
Still think if the fake blond ladies can handle the scalp burn just to scam men on dates... (the girl I was gonna marry in grad school had such a good blond hair dye job, I didn't realize it was dyed until I saw her non-"public" hair crew cut was a different color... thanks Tanya), so can you Cynic. Your fans deserve it! Or are you weaker than fashionable girls!? 🙀

Thor: Love And Thunder = Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire
The formers were soft reboots and had silly humor with wacky ass fights and comedic presence.
The latters kept its silly humor but went too hard on the wacky fights and the cringe ass comedic presence didn't make up for it at all.
I think while this movie has problems was still a great watch in the theaters, but I appreciate this review so much, I hope to see more of them in the future! 💯

Now why do you think that might be, given that the entire episode is dedicated to discussing the writing problems with the Monsterverse and GXK?

A lot of their issues are because they didn't pay attention to what was happening. For example, they missed that the portals aren't in the same layer Skar King was trapped in. We clearly see that the apes have to get out of the sinkhole to reach them.
Thank you Platoon for having a higher standard for kids' entertainment. Ain't no way I'm having my daughter watch most of the utter garbage that's been released recently - I'll happily show her the classics instead, thank you.
