I know this is quite a controversial video for this channel. I still decided to publish it despite the possible negative reactions. I DO NOT HATE SELENA! This must be stated! In fact Selena is one of my favorite artists. As a fan however, I cannot deny the fact that Selena is not the best singer, but still acknowledge the fact that she is still a very well at what she does. This video is more of an educational video than anything else. Despite this, we must realize that singers sometimes have bad days. (Some worse than others) Thank you for choosing to watch this.
I like her but I don’t understand how someone with so many resources doesn’t get better. I believe with proper training anyone can be a good singer, maybe not amazing but more consistent for sure. I used to sing and I did it well. I don’t have an amazing voice but it sounded nice and confident. I was not gifted with an amazing voice but I studied and got better, I’m sure she can do that too.
Selena's belting is most unpredictable about her voice, there are days when she pull some power like Sober performance and there are days like that jingle ball performance when she show some weird hybrid of mixed belt, falsetto, whisper and exclamation. Her pitch in belting is also worst, in her lower register and falsetto is her pitch not that bad, quite ok + she's much more comfortable and much more consistent in those 2 registers. Like if she tried more working with her lows and falsetto instead pushing herself to belting when she's not in good condition she wouldn't look that bad for people who are judging her. There are a lot ways how to hide your imperfections and not using autotune or lip-syncing, all you need it grab little confidence and little think. Selena has very beautiful voice, her tone is just pure heaven, but she needs to be confident because when she's not, it affecting her vocals significantly.
I sound like her normally on her worse days. I'm not the worse singer but def not pro. I want a high paid popular singer to be eons better than me. If someone rises to the top she or he should have that almost inaccessible talent skill and allure. Lady Gaga has that outstanding star quality.
I totally agree that the Iheart radio concert day that was broadcasted was THE WORST. The other two days were actually amazing and had shown an improvement for Selena's vocals. She had her redemption since her departure from the Stars Dance tour. Everyone was shocked at how confident she had become. Sadly, they had to brodcast the LAST DAY of the iheart concert evet. So she must've been already tired. Luckily she had another redemption at the begining of the Revival Tour. I still remember how amazed i was watching the periscope lives of the first days of the tour:,)
This is not belting pls it's flat and the notes she does are not that difficult and she's out of breath most of the time I mean she is making a face like the note are incredibly hard but this is not even a high note and when she does it it's flattt but I agree that sober is pretty good for her

I think she’s wonderful. But she also needs to work on her vocals because she can’t seem to hit the notes she does when it’s auto-tuned.
Did anybody think her lupus flare ups can be the underlying cause of her fighting for breath or panic attacks anxiety and low energy?because she sings very impressive on her good days
Selena has a great voice, she isn't necessarily the best live singer but her voice is instantly recognisable and she has proven that she can take on so many genres very well, there is a reason her music is so popular and that's because people like her voice
Look to the recent performances before anything (Let Somebody Go, Wolves) her lower register shows us Selena is good doing her thing, she isn’t the best but her voice still make people feel good. Her songs are good and she knows what she can do. Sober and Slow Down (both live at revival tour) is a proof. She cannot be the best, but she is good. ❤
