    STORYLINE:
Protesters in Jordan gathered in Amman on Tuesday calling on the government to annul its peace treaty with Israel, close its embassy and expel its ambassador amid the ongoing Israel-Hamas war.
The demonstrators rallied near to the embassy in the capital but were prevented from marching to it by security forces.
The crowd chanted pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel slogans, and also listened to speeches, including an address from Hamas spokesman Abu Obeida.
The Israel-Hamas war, now in its fourth week, started after Hamas militants from the Gaza Strip blew through Israel’s highly fortified separation wall on October 7, and attacked an open-air music festival and Israeli border communities.
They killed scores of people and abducted men, women, and children - including elderly and disabled.
Israel launched airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and sealed it off from food, fuel and other supplies in retaliation for a bloody incursion, vowing to destroy the militant group.
The war is the deadliest of five Gaza wars for both sides.
The Palestinian death toll in the Israel-Hamas war has reached 8,525, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry in Gaza. In the occupied West Bank, more than 122 Palestinians have been killed in violence and Israeli raids.
More than 1,400 people in Israel have been killed, most of them civilians slain in the initial Hamas rampage that started the fighting Oct. 7. In addition, around 240 hostages were taken from Israel into Gaza by the militant group.

Israel chose to abandon peace when they committed a genocide, and perpetuated an apartheid occupier state for two years. It is time the people stop allowing this nonsense to go on.

When seeking peace, would it not be better to enforce the peace treaty over creating more division? We cannot create peace by destroying bridges. Peace requires everyone working together in an antiviolence fashion for harmony.

You cannot have diplomatic ties with a state who does not respect international law, committs war crimes, and does not answer to any state or organisation out there. The Western countries had no problem cutting all ties with Russia and enforce political, military and economical mesures when they invade Ukrain why is there a double standard here ? If you don't act like a democratic state you should not be treated as one. Words are not enough, countries have to take action now !
