Thank you for the remix and the entire instruction. I have recreated the project, but when I turn it on, I get the error message: File system mount Failed! I have reflashed the ESP32 and recreated the SD card without success. Where could my error be?
Most likely you don't have your movie files in the right directory structure. It is case sensitive. Videos/1/ or Videos/2/ ..etc (capital V). Or you don't even have any movie files on the SD card. Or more unlikely you have a soldering issue, or a problem with the micro SD card. File system mount Failed! just means it can't read the video & sound files it's expecting.
I don't generally sell my stuff sorry. You would be better off getting a Tiny TV 2 (made by TinyCircuits). They sell on Amazon, Etsy, as well as their own website.
Hmm, I dont need another one but couldnt help myself and fancy playing so ordered some PCB's and other bits to make 2 or so. Only thing I was confused about was the microUSB port, is that purely for power to the ESP32? why didnt you use the pins on the ESP32 to supply power to it through the PCB? Apologies if I'm missing something obvious. Another thing that might help on Instructables is info on the PCB like PCB thickness (I went with the stock 1.6mm?) and any other options like maybe the Via Covering, I went for Untended as felt like that was best for this type of board. Everything else was left stock.
Sorry, yes it's 100% default settings from JLBPCB, so the board is 1.6mm. Just upload the Gerber zip and order. The USB C port is just for charging the battery. There isn't a battery charging circuit on the Di mini ESP32, so it needs something external. From the research I did, it also wouldn't have worked well without a Boost Converter. Hence the combined lithium charging / boost converter board. I hope the build works for you btw!
@@dynamight1124 Just power yes. Why not just connect directly to the D1 mini ESP32 VCC pin? I don't know. I got put off by online forum chatter that suggested this would circumvent a Schottky diode and perhaps a fuse. I didn't study the D1-MINI-ESP32 schematics personally, but since it would only save one wire connection, went with a male microUSB plug option.
@@megazoid Nah thats cool, I was struggling to find some cheap male MicroUSB connectors and started to wonder if I even needed it then obviously concerned it might be required. All of my other ESP32's and ESP8266's have been powered directly from the relevant pin. One of my ESP8266's has been running WLED 24/7 for the last 4 years. Its one of those things you cant win, theres people like me whinging about not using the pin, if you used the pin there would be people whinging about the dangers of using it haha!
Hello, I love the build! I’m thinking of following your thingverse and creating my own. This will be my first project of this kind and have never worked with components such as these, but I’m curious: if one wanted to add a volume dial, would it be connected directly to the amplifier to do so? Or would an additional component be needed? Thanks!
The project is medium-hard. Just be aware of that before you tackle it. You have to be pretty good at small stuff and soldering. I've tried to make it easier, but it's not "easy". I really wouldn't bother adding a volume control. 1:: You can adjust the output volume as you convert the files (although they are fixed at whatever volume you set) 2:: 99.99% of this gadgets life is spent sitting on a shelf. Just being real about it. You could add a miniature potentiometer, but you are looking at some cutting traces and bodging it in there or redesigning the whole project.
Hi, I really liked this project. I’ve already received all the components from aliexpress and the pcb as well. I’m printing the stls now. The only thing I didn’t get downloaded was the bin file to flash the esp32 with. 😞. Or the code to prepare the video and audio files. I was wondering if there was anyway you would ever make those available? I was going to put clips of my favorite quotes from Christmas Vacation and IT Crowd on my build. Great build by the way. It would be a shame for this to not be available. But, I understand your position if you decide to completely withdraw your work. Thanks dude.

I'm not a runner up to a f**king yoyo. I've pulled everything offline. Muh... s**t happens. Sorry about taking down your posts. That's the only part I feel bad about.
You cant let stuff like that get to you, you're always gonna get silly comments asking for impossible features, thats just the internet these days. I just saw the yoyo, I'd be pretty annoyed too but thats silly judges for you, probably just biased towards it. Its totally your project and you can obviously do what you please with it, just a shame that so many will miss out. Dont let it put you off future projects, if I do stuff, I tend to do it for myself mostly but put it out there for others as a way to give back/share.

@@megazoid Apologies for the confusion, I meant the male microUSB that goes into the D1 Mini's USB port. While I assume supplies power to the D1 Mini.

I've never done a complete drain test, but it should be between 1 and 2 hours continuous play.
