    I'm using direct flash using magmod sphere and it works for me better than holding an umbrella while shooting the camera one handedly in outdoor scenario.

    Thanks for the tips.
    Here is another one: For fill-flash, set the camera to expose for the ambient light and set the flash to a minus 1 exposure.

    What kind of ISO do you use inside at a reception while using flash?

    • @jasonbatchphotography
      @jasonbatchphotography  Před 9 měsíci

      It all depends. I set my ambient light in camera first and highlighting what I want to see (hanging lights, background). Then I will add the flash to the scene. If I want it more dark and dramatic I will darken the ambient light in camera and then add the flash and so on.

    Hi Jason, if your wall or ceilings are too far or too high and you only have one speed light on your camera, do you point it straight at the person or do you use any kind of modifier?? Thank you so much

    • @jasonbatchphotography
      @jasonbatchphotography  Před rokem +3

      I personally us magmod products. I use the magsphere (like in the video) and point it straight up or click my speedlight one notch towards the subject. I personally never point directly at, because it produces a flat light on the person. For a cheaper option, there is flash diffuser reflectors on Amazon.

    what if you want to turn it portrait?

    • @jasonbatchphotography
      @jasonbatchphotography  Před rokem

      If I only have an on-camera speed light and want to light my subject, I personally like using the magsphere (like in the video). Point it straight up and click the speed light one notch towards the subject. And for portraits or vertical images, I do the same. Turn the speed light pointing up and give it a subtle shift towards the subject. This all depends on the location as well. White walls or ceiling to bounce off, nothing to bounce off, etc. Just depends. I personally try to avoid pointing the flash directly at, because it produces a flat light on the person.
