NEVER use hot glue, he is suggesting it to reapply the heat sink, this is a bad idea - the best method is to get the x-clamps reapplied, failing that remove the prongs and replace with the appropriate washers and screws. Also you may want to look up reflowing or reballing if you are having E74/Graphical issues.
It took a day of overheating cooling and rebooting but it ended up fixing my 360. Thanks!!!
That is nuts! You can also toss the fan in your dishwasher and clean it like new.
my issue;
whenever i have a disc in, it eventually and abruptly exits the game and stops reading it. when that happens, the xbox ring flashes. it doesn't change color, like i said; it flashes. when this happens, the xbox is always loading if i try to go into "my games" or "apps" etc.
when i eject the disc, otherwise known as having the disc tray come out - the xbox ring stops flashing. when it stops flashing, the loading screen for things like "my games" suddenly loads, and works like normal.
any ideas? i've been searching for solutions for quite a while but haven't found anything for this problem.
Should cleaning out the fan and heat sink fix a fan that's stopped spinning or is it too late at that point? What should I do if the fan has stopped spinning? It's gotta be a matter of dust. I have three dogs, one that sheds like no other. I haven't gotten an E74 or whatever, nor the red ring of death. What is an E74?
First the Xbox is stuck on logo screen and then i saw some solutions which says to put the tray out and then turn it on. But when i do that, on the startup *THE BSOD* comes. Any FIX?
the problem that I'm having is it keeps telling me to open the tray it won't read the disc. actually that isn't true it's very selective as to when it decides to read the disc sometimes it does most of the time it doesn't. how do you fix that?
Sir my Xbox 360 suddenly failed to connect with TV or PC Monitor by both AV cable and HDMI cable. Though we have been playing it by HDMI cable for 1 year but one day suddenly

i have a question what if my xbox 360 constantly makes my tv turn into a greenish and gray color and has color spasms what do i do? ( i unplugged and replugged everything till it was fit)
Same :S thats why im planning to buy the cooler station that provides cool air, usually it freezes because of hot air inside the 360 the Nyko cooler only takes out hot air not giving cool air
If you're game has a ring around the disc how do you fix lt
try reflowing the gpu or the anna chip if you can hear sound but see noting check the video cable but as it said in the video 9out of 10 off the errors is caused by the gpu so try a reflow :) hope it helped
im having a problem with my xbox. i configure an usb and everytime i turn my xbox off it acts as if i never configured it and deletes every thing on it. please help
my problem is when i open my xbox 360 after 2 or 3 minutes it will turn off by itself then after 1 minutes it will open again then after 1 minute it will turn off again....how can i fix it?

@12elfutbolista Try taking the disk out and with a micro fiber towel clean the disk from the center out and never use solvents should be fine....i had the same problem and it seemed to help.

Other tip after powering down your xbox via the controller don't turn off power till fans have stopped if you turn off before fans have cooled the xbox you will leave it over heated thus prompting red ring .
before my xbox got 3rrod it had a problem with taking me out of my parties (on my screen it ses my friends has left and on their screen it ses i left) then i put rrod fix in my xbox and it still does it any solutions????
mine keeps freezing, and its not heat. because about 1 minute i play it it freezes and i turn it off and then turn it back on it freezes quicker and it makes me soo mad im about to trow it away, and i keep getting the red ring of death. how do i fix it?
my 360 is odd...I have my 360 laying on its side and when i play game it makes a weird noise, not loud but it sounds like it's scratching my disc so I took out of the hard drive and looked in the back and a shit load of scratches was on the back.....any advice?
P.S also when i turn on my 360 i get the RROD then when i turn it off then turn it on again like 5 times it starts up normally...weird to be honest...
Nice tutorial but when you mentioned placing something under it to prop it up you need to mention that what you place under it should be non conductive like plastic or wood.

I had got an arcade and when I'm playing Somtimes the screen would flicker with a popping noise. Anyone gave this problem or know what it could be?

i have problem with my 360 pro , ive only just bought it 1 year ago after my arcade got the red ring .. now when i play games on my pro the 360 turns itself off every 20 - 30 minutes .. does anybody know how this can be fixed and why it happens in the 1st place .
@TheAnimatorOfPivot that happens to me all the time for some reason except with more clicks, but after a while of taking out the disc and puting it back in it works, but with my new black ops it just freezes in the title scean.
black screen no sound ? turn on your xbox easy fix turn on x box press y button and right trigger at same time keep doing this till your display resets .It is a simple display problem .

@BlackFistUpHigh u may have ur family settings set to auto turn off or its something like that just go to my xbox then my system there should be an option in there that says faamily settings go there once in there there should be like a family time limit check that and hope it works for you :)
looking to fix your drive? buy a new drive, make sure its the exact model, theres 3 types. take apart the xbox 360 casings take out the drive, get the new drive, unscrew the back, carfully take out the circuit board, it has 3 or 4 ribbon wires. unclip it from the drive. do the same for the old drive. swap the old board into the new drive. boom new drive with out flashing cause the board is already flash to your xbox and hardware is just hardware. works like a charm. mines going on 2 years.

My xbox 360 slim keeps making a black screen when it reads my games and my downloaded games. Im not buying another xbox its been my 4th time having a problem. And the environment of the room I'm in is always cool i even had a fan on the stupid thing.
That happened to me a few days ago on my original xbox 360.I am so angry with that thing.All I can do is just let it rest and hope it will go back to normal.
The Red Ring isn't caused by the GPU slipping, therefore no reason for hot glue to keep it in place, second, there is no solder on the GPU, its thermal paste, and when it red rings its because all the thermal paste (they use cheap shit so it melts) has melted off the GPU. All you do it open like you did, and put new thermal paste on the GPU after cleaning it off.

Yes this may work, but you can only have it laying down?erm how baout using a heat gun and reheat the sodier and reset the gpu.this is done with the heat gun on a low heat and long enough for it to melt the sodier but not long enough to damage the gpu! (bit of common sense reli) trust me this works with no hot glue and "having to lay it on its side only" good comment about the can of air tho didnt think of that.

this was weird i was playn call of duty online then the red ring came up i turned off the xbox hit it with my foot opened the xbox to get the game out . its starts to work again dont know y but im happy

If your xbox is having problems reading the discs then you should open the disc tray close it and as it closes smack your xbox on the top side repeatedly( quite hard) until it reads the disc i had the same problem so im not making this up.
i did this, and it lasted 15 minutes.
3. get another red ring of death and cry to your mom

1. Go to a store.
2. Buy a ps3
what is this guy trying to tell us. if you want a xbox you have to strip it glue it and never move it agen?? i was going to buy a xbox elite pro this week but fuck that now, ill just stay with my ps3. it will cost me more in the long run to own a xbox with all the repairs ill have to get done? what a waist of time and money.
