I've played in Aurora Skies very recently, and I was apprehensive by seeing all the rainbow coloured square houses.

I love how in the Sims 3, you don't have to fill a house with clutter and detail in order to make it feel lived in. Sims 4 feels so empty feeling, you have to clutter ever surface to try bring it to life.
i think It's because the Sims 3 has more texture and detail... the sims 4 is pretty, but its very plastic
When you're done rating homes in sims 3 worlds, you should rate the homes in the sims 2.
i want to do every sims game... but my goodness sims 2 might be the ugliest!
@@Rekowcski My favorite homes from the sims 2 are the art deco ones in pleasant view, and a lot of the cool apartment buildings from apartment life, but I do agree that they can get ugly.
@@luke_is_i6392 pleasantview is probably the best builds... but the worst by far are the hidden ugly monstrosities in the lots/houses bin... some EP's have some horrifying builds
I think he should rate the empty houses in every world as well. But understandably it would be a separate category, because the houses don't have to be attached to the family and their lore.
I would love to see all of the houses in each world renovated to be better
i had a lime green room as a kid too! Aurora Skies has one of the prettiest environments imo, it's a shame the snow is broken and ugly af here, especially considering it's Icelandic theme

Yeah just type in "The Sims 3 Aurora Skies snow fix" and the 2nd result is the one is use
@@aturchomicz821 I tried using it once but the world was completely broken for me, weird graphic glitches were visible on the map view. I don't really know how to 'decrapify' store items so that may be the reason tho
@@wig.snatcher try some graphic overhaul on nexusmod or with smoothness patch.
I read that it’s the issue with the sea level so you have to go into CAW to change it or download a version someone has changed and it will be fixed
22:50 I subtract one personal point from this house because my sims would always wash their dishes in that small bathroom instead of the kitchen because that sink is closer 😄
Oh my I didn’t even see that! It’s bc in sims 4 they do that even if the bathroom sink is the furthest sink hahaha, so I’m traumatized
Viktor Valquist and Jesper Sandstrom (the ones who live in Eco Edifice house) are definitely in a relationship! In addition to the two being best friends who sleep in the same bed, their daughter's last name is Valstrom, which is a combination of their last names.
hehe yes! they might be tricking the other townies, but we see the truth haha

@@Rekowcski also i think at the time of the release of sims 3, gay marriage was illegal in the US which is were the sims team is located. I could be wrong though. It wows me how much the sims team cared about detail and gameplay back then compared to sims 4 where no one has a relationship lol
@@fairyexterminator2574 that's true, in my country it was legal already, but social attitudes would make us hide it anyway lol... i remember in sims 2 it was "joined in holy union" for same sex couples, not "marriage" hahahaha

I tried watching this one last night after a really sad day but ended up falling asleep to it...that's not an insult, it's actually a compliment. I have insomnia and most of those asmr sleep videos don't help me relax. You have a very calming voice in this particular video (I know you can get triggered by poop walls!), anyways, rewatching it today and enjoying it. Ty
I'm glad I could help you, there was a time when I was depressed and couldn't sleep well, and I would listen to Cindy (pleasant sims) yell at the Sims 4 and it knocked me out haha

i recommend just throwing a family/legacy style sim in aurora skies and just seeing what happens... the starter homes arent THAT bad, but i think if you can make a red square your own build should fit right in haha

Bathtubs come with a shower faucet and handle here in europe. I think at the time of Sims 3 they were more common and bathrooms were usually made with having just them in mind. Now, as of writing, showers are more popular. More and more people (including my family) rather decide having just showers, some do both.
i agree... I think most contemporary homes have both shower and bath options (usually the same plumbing here too, a tub with a shower attached so u stand in the tub), but of course EA only uses 1 or the other lol
@@Rekowcski The sims team should have added a shower/tub combo without walls or glass panels so it looks more adequate.

i was thinking i could judge the sims! using outfits, personality, originality, etc
i was thinking for future series to score different categories, since people have different preferences for what they find important!

i didn't own several of these when i started the series, it's been so fun exploring everything!
This was my favorite world in Sims 3! I used to put a spot at the top of the hill, build a tiny little house and enjoy how pretty the view was. The skies were always so amazing! Loved the review!

it gives a BEAUTIFUL sky for this world and lights up all the pretty colours!

I had seriously no clue Aurora Skies had maybe the best furnished housing in all of TS3??? I've owned this world for so long and never took advantage of it omg
They were trying to hide it from us with LEGO-looking squares lol
I love the yellow and orange house! It's really pretty! I also really like the green/gray combo. Red + Pink is only ok for young children and Valentine's Day.
it's all yours, it's not for me haha... i liked the grey they used, but just not the green combo (maybe a deep purple or a roasty orange is more my style with it)

I have an idea for you for after you finishing rating all the houses in the game. You should do a like house reno series. Take the worst of the worst and fix it up but keep the vibes of the original house. So only miminal structural changes as if it was a real reno but like different paint, floors, better items, better space usage, etc. But not just bulldoze the lot but like edit it to not suck. Just an idea but I'd LOVE to see how you fix them up!!! 💜
i think that's what id like to do as a separate series... i was going to take the ugliest starter home (trust me, every world has a couple lol) and then yes, i'll fix it up to make it the same, but nice and still a starter x

Aurora Skies is such a beautiful world and these houses have a nice decoration.
Which is really surprising because for some reason when it comes to interior design, EA has a really weird taste .😂
I was shocked at how few of their wood floors were ugly... most were pretty good and had some great room/wall colours as well to match!
Aurora Skies is so beautiful but for some odd reason I just cannot live in it. It's so pretty and the scenery is great but I never explore or stay very long.
it's not for everyone, i feel the same way about Appaloosa Plains even if it is prettier than twinbrook (which i am always playing in)

Does anyone know how to remove the lazy duchess smooth patch? Mine is crashing every time I come out or build mode 😞
it has to be launched each time you play (it doesnt "fix" the game files permanently), so use the regular launcher if it's giving you trouble
Loved the review so far! WOW, I give it to EA; they were really rocking some of those bold retro/pastel color palettes. I'm always a sucker for darker tones or neutral with one or two accent colors, but I am very impressed!

Actually the fireplace and blinds are base game! But yes I love both of them I use them quite a bit :) I'll have to get this world sometime because I love the concept!
i spend so much time in create a style i dont think ive come across every item... usually i am just recolouring the same things, thank you im gonna use those blinds everywhere then since everyone will have them in their game

I played with this world once and I guess I wasn't very lucky because I moved to a really ugly house. I wish I had chosen another one because most of the houses you showed so far are really really gorgeous!
usually the empty houses are even uglier... i tried every empty starter house in hidden springs recently and no luck lol :(

I love this world as well especially because it reminds me of a lot of the Nordic Countries(which i love and hope to visit again)

ive been playing in it this last month, and i kept avoiding looking at the houses... honestly i expected worse, EA doing red square houses was not something I thought they would pull off haha

I have owned this world for years, and have yet to fully play in it, but while the housing structures are not my style, I do find some intricate designs within. I also agree that the lack of showers is quite quite annoying.
🤞, that you will give your opinion of the daycare, and get to catch the night time view (it is breathtaking, if I am remembering correctly).
How does your sims 3 still load mine doesn’t even launch and I have no cc downloaded 💔
it may require a little troubleshooting (google is your friend), it's an older game and if you're on a newer computer you should at the very least, do a fresh install and match your graphics card (back up your saves and stuff first)

Random question. How did you get aurora skies to download? Your video inspired me to play again and I can’t get it into my game…
Did you buy it from the sims 3 store?
@@Rekowcski yes! I have tried downloading it into the launcher and it says it downloads, but then I launch the game and it is not actually there.

@@Bulkleybull22 make sure in the launcher it "loads with custom content" box checked... also make sure you "install" it with the launcher after downloading it

i completely agree... i couldn't find an official aurora skies trailer so I figured it was a good time to use generations since it didn't come with it's own world

12:10 thise are base game I think. I use them a lot. If you put these in front of a door or an arch the Sims can just walk through.
Okay so I am convinced I am going to buy this world I think it is like the only one I do not have but I LOVE some of the new pieces that come with it.

yes that's the plan... from my experience, the empty houses are way uglier lol

what in the devil got into them when making every other world when it's clear they KNEW how to get colors right all along....
it bothers me lol... how could they make rainbow boxes harmonize like this... but a sunset valley house has a minimum 4 ugly colours/textures smooshed together

its a shame that with all the store content and packs the sims 3 just is barely playable(the load times are awful) which is i have to give credit to the sims 4 with all the packs and dlc the load times do remain consistant.

Europeans tend to have/like bathtubs. Showers is more of a North American thing.
yes, but dont the tubs usually have a shower too? i guess it depends on which country or region, i just can't imagine ONLY being able to take a bath haha

it was legalized in 2010, so it was still pretty fresh i guess haha... but i was thinking maybe there is more to the story because sims 2 and 3 like to hide lore EVERYWHERE haha
The Aurora Light in Sims 4 is 😱 Horrifically Lagging and the Lagging effect not only the game also the entire OS. Still unplayable now.
