  • Skip to the action at 3:00 - This is an unnamed track off Camp Creek Rd in Noojee, Victoria with no options but to turn around we end up in an uncontrolled slide that could have resulted in a crash. This video was filmed during the winter seasons of 2021 and it was raining the day before and lightly during the morning of this day. Track conditions speak for themselves...

Awesome experience . A little bit of info that can help to read if a track might be extra slippery is how much sun reaches the ground . I see at 5:55 sunlight showing on the ground and good traction with it. On the other side of the coin if a decent doesn`t get much sun and is steep , these are the tracks that can bite . Lessons learn the hard way can teach us best . I well know that sliding feeling .

1 year on, we've been in another one of these situations except we used reverse gear to maintain a controlled speed going down. Worked well, but much can be said of control been easier to be lost if you navigate it wrong.

That was totally in control.. You did every thing correct.. Except relying on Hill decent control.. In mud..
Out of Control would have meant you letting go of everything and shouting " Lord Take the Wheel " ... and then flying down out of control.
You had brakes. What you didnt have... was traction.

Time to fit a winch, lol.

Some have worked out a way, but I don't really need it the few times I've needed to just go forward an inch to get traction or take the gravity load off the hand winch has done the job!

Love your work, but when the tracks are wet, you should stay off them.

@@AllTerrainAction Driving on these tracks when they are wet is just pure vandalism. You know you are damaging the asset and you go straight ahead. It's no different to spray painting a train. When you chop up the tracks, the the cost of maintaining them becomes too expensive for National Parks or the Rural Fire Services to maintain and they close the roads for EVERYONE, not just the ones that chop them up in the wet.

@@ThePaulArnott not disagreeing with you, in this particular situation we went up and we had no choice but to come back down due to track ending no where when mapping data gave us indication of a passthrough. Going down had some errors, we learned some things from that but going up the Adventra did less chop up than the Prado who was with us, so unless your statement is directed to all vehicles in the wet I don't think we did much wrong going up anymore than anyone else. Infact the Adventra went up 2nd go with a single maxtrack and the 4wds went up with about 6 lay downs of maxtrax on both sides, certainly threw more mud and dug further down than the Adventra did. There is a series on our channel on the way up to show those events, but nonetheless we do make very good attempts to avoid damaging tracks and making sure the bush stays clean and well maintained to the best we can and respect you point made here, hopefully you see more positive things on our channel, sorry this particular video did not relate well to you but glad you spoke up too 👍
