28 years on the road. I've been through many of snow storms. I was told in training that bad weather slows you down but should never stop you. I was young and dumb then. Now that I'm older and wiser. I have no problems pulling over and shutting it down.

Another thing to think about: When we go out in that snow or risky weather we have to remember all the people that we put at risk as well. It’s not just about you and your situation but it’s also putting the people that have to rescue you at risk. Sure they get paid but no one wants that on their conscience if someone else gets hurt or killed. A lot of people underestimated this past storm. ❤️💙❤️💙

I’ve been over the road trucking for a long time now and yes I’d been through some bad and worst snow storms. The best thing to do first is check for weather and road conditions before you put that truck on the road. If you see that the roads are not safe, and the storm is bad, call your asset manager and tell him or her because they rather deal with rescheduling than accidents and damages. I’m glad to see you are ok and well and stay safe. Peace ☮️ .

We actually ran off the road a we were BOBTAIL! us running off the road actually saved our life because bit a mile ahead was an accident and every vehicle that passed us collided into the stopped vehicles and we would have been crushed being bobtail. Thankfully since then we haven't been in any bad weather because I been trying my best to keep us out of it! We've been so lucky because we've chased storms, been surrounded and untouched by a storm and been ahead of a storm. Glad you and pepper came out ok!

Wow. Well watching what you’ve been through, I was reminded of some of the troubling times that I have been through as a truck driver. I’m a regional truck driver in Michigan Indiana basically and I have been through all the snow storms so far this winter and I can totally relate to what you’re talking about. I run Dollar General out of Marion Indiana and they always send me to Michigan almost every single load. I can totally relate about the windshield wipers and it’s just a nasty mess in the winter time. When he gets really bad I’m totally tensed up on the wheel because like you said one fraction of a move and youll slide off the highway.
I think you for the rubbing alcohol idea though. I’m gonna try that. And yes cat litter or a few bags of salt is always good to have on hand. I was totally thinking about getting a bunk heater but I don’t have the 5000 for my truck so unfortunately I just leave the engine running until I go to bed and then I turn it off and stay nice and warm under my thick sleeping bags and blankets but winter is tough. I don’t see how you can climb up there as much as you seem to to wipe off your windshield wipers. Wow. In the middle of the winter. God takes us through situations but he has always told us that his joke is never or will never be too much for us. And I believe that because I praise him through the toughest times. And just yesterday on my run up to the lake Huron area, it was just one problem after another and it was just cold. Because I deliver and unload my trailer so I’m out there in the cold for hours. But anyways God is good! Keep fighting the good fight!

Thank you for sharing your experiences Niesha! I truly enjoy your videos and positivity. I admire your courage and spirituality. I am considering pursuing my CDL and trucking for a living. I have worked in customer service and sales for many years feel burnt out and needing change that will also allow me to meet my financial aspirations. I do enjoy driving expect for traffic sometimes. The only concern I have is driving while its raining, snowing, or even driving through mountains. The only experience I have had with long drives was driving in my friend's Tahoe from Orlando, FL to Denver, Colorado a few years back. Though I enjoyed the drive the scariest moments of my life was driving up and down the mountain sides in Denver near Breckenridge and Keystone at night while keeping an eye out for ice. Was very nerve recking. I remember going down hills and the vehicle accelerating faster and faster simply because the downslope/downgrade. Was a interesting ski trip, lol. If I do start trucking I will probably start regional or local to get my feet wet. Anyways, I share my story to see anyone could give me any feedback on my concern especially when trucking in such conditions? Any feedback is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Experience is the best teacher. Even OG truck drivers will tell you that. You learned a heck of a lot during this experience, don’t be so hard are yourself.❤️❤️

Excellent advice about getting momentum to get unstuck.
Something that has helped me in the past is to turn on the power splitter and turn the TCS Spin off.
That has helped me so many times.

Mistakes are lessons. I'm not a trucker, but i feel like i can relate to you bc i'm a woman working in a 100% male dominated position. They can screw up and laugh it off, but every time it happens to me i get so hard on myself bc i feel like i have to PROVE myself. A lot of it's in my own head, i'm sure. But your tip about giving yourself grace: A powerful message. We are all human, we all have bad days, and mistakes are lessons to learn from... and like in your case, good stories to tell later! 😁 thanks for the vid, i thoroughly enjoyed it! Was on the edge of my seat going thru all the emotions with you.
