    Hi there! I found your channel in my feed and have been a fan of Drifta since the mid 2000s! I actually live in Washington state and remember back at that time, Luke use to have a few pages on his site that told the story of his life working here in Washington. He never did finish that story on his site and I even have a few emails that I exchanged with him asking him to complete his story. Will have to look in my email and bug him again to finish it. It was an interesting story, indeed!
    Cheers,
    Salue

      Hello from Australia all the way to Washington State! Salue, How did you first learn about Luke and Drifta? Was it searching for camping gear, or word of mouth over there ? I have been meaning to contact Luke too - I will be sure to hassle him aswell to finish those memoirs and mention you too! Thanks for watching. You have some beautiful country-side over there.

      @@OTWD I first learned about his company around that time while researching cargo/drawer/kitchen systems. I really like the idea of his systems that have a separate slot for the table. It makes sense since that seems to be the last item being put away. But, if you don't have a designated spot for it, your'e trying to cram it into a spot hoping it'll fit...at least that's what I end up doing mostly. I sent him a follow up email and referenced your video, crossing fingers he finishes his story. You have some beautiful country over there as well. If you ever make it to the states, do reach out!
      Cheers,
      Salue

    Sorry about the sound I was experimenting and it clearly didn't pay off! .. On the back of the cutlery drawer there is the name Alex handwritten in pencil. So thanks Alex from Drifta if you ever see this :D Love your work

      @@OTWD It's mini in name but mighty in use, fits all the kitchen gear and then some 😁. Have wowed a few onlookers with the benchspace that emerges from such a small box as well.

    Great review mate. First time I had seen a review on this style of camp kitchen. I really like it. I like to camp out of the tray of my ute so this would suit me to a tee. I love the water pump. Great addition. Is it in the way a bit being at the front of the unit?
    Let us know when you start selling your stickers.

    • @OTWD
      @OTWD  Před 2 lety +1

      Thanks for watching and taking time to comment again Jason! It takes up a bit of space but its certainly worth the convenience. Would be great for the ute. The water pump is in a good spot, it doesn''t seem to be in the way doing prep on the bench, etc - took a few mins getting used to it and then I didn't notice. I think it need to be close to the centre so that it doesn't pressure on the structure/keeps it stable when you pump it up and down. See comment on the other video - shoot me an email and I'll get a sticker to you :D

    Great video. I nearly purchased one off marketplace for 150. Only 2 weeks ago. This one exactly but it was too bulky for my setup which is similar to yours. After watching this I’m glad I declined it as watching the unit go in the car has saved space. I’m glad it works for you. It’s a great unit. How much does it weigh fully loaded ? The drifta kitchen i would Get is got a trailer door that sets up instantly. Keep it up.

      Hi Anthony, Thanks for watching mate. How was your trip to Eildon in Jan? I think the week you went was the pick of the weather. $150 would be a steal Would you get a slide out drawer kitchen, or a tailgate swinging kitchen? Next time Im in the garage I'll put it on the kitchen scales. Cheers!

    I love the drita brand, and had one of their car back kitchens but sold it. In my opinion they are just too large for serious outback touring without a trailer.

      Thanks for watching and taking time to comment Chappy! The Drifta 200 ain't small either. Stopping in one place for a bit, as a home base, is where it shines. No experience with the car backs here, but I can appreciate your perspective!
