    Good old Southwest Airlines where the letter "C" followed by a number on your boarding pass means spending time in a middle seat. - In their favor they are actually one of the biggest domestic carriers with lots of destinations. Unfortunately, their boarding process reminds me of the days when I traveled by second class bus in Southern Mexico. So, due to their unique boarding rigamarole, Southwest is definitely my second or third choice for air travel with the condition that I am able to book a non-stop flight to my destination.
    Alaska, Delta and Jet Blue are my first choices for domestic travel.

    • @homerfry9234

      So, too lazy to check in 24 hours before the flight? In that case you deserve what you get, a big fat "C".

    Thank you for sharing your flight over to Hawaii in general here. I forget that Southwest is now flying there on the 737s. That is a long distance on a on an aircraft that size but the overall saving grace here is that you got the Exti Row that gives you the leg room!! Any time all of us have to fly in Economy for more than 3 hours we need the leg room to stretch your legs. And then leaving Maui to jump over to Oahu with 27 people onboard was heaven for you! Very nice for that! I have flown on the 757s from LAX to Hawaii a few times but all the other aircraft were larger ones like that 777s and 767s for the space. Again, thank you for sharing you flight. I hope you enjoy being on the beach with family and friends.

    • @standbycolin
      @standbycolin  Před 2 lety +1

      Thank you! I’m glad you liked it! I definitely agree that it’s a little interesting for a 737 to be flying all the way to Hawaii, even the A321s. And if your taking a longer flight on a 737 MAX or 800 aircraft, I definitely recommend 16A or 16F, you won’t regret it!

    • @LMays-cu2hp
      @LMays-cu2hp Před 2 lety +2

      @@standbycolin Yeah, for seats 16A or 16F, I take it that is probably the Exit Row seats at the windows. Yes, the leg room is needed for us tall people flying that size of an aircraft long haul. I see the JetBlue is flying from New York to London. I have to think about flying those aircraft that way as well. Well, I will continue to read reviews of how people feel. I know the corporate business jets are flying some good distances as well but you only have 2 to 7 people onboard. Hahaha, but I can not afford a nice corporate business jet!! Hahaha No, no. So, I am stuck on the commercial airlines with the us regular people. Hahahaa! I laugh! You fly safe for the summer. Again, thanks for sharing.

      @LMays-cu2hp Před 2 lety +1

      @@tomdavis3038 I hear you and i see your comment. I do miss the 747s a lot. And yes, flying those long distances for me, I still need a large wide body aircraft!! I do and I need to see the big space on those large aircraft to make me feel comfortable. So, yes, on the long-haul trips for now I fly the 777s and 767s. I look at the reservations and I call the customer service agents to find out about the services available on a particular airline. Now, for the Hawaii flights I now Hawaii Airways has the big wide body Airbus A330s and I have see them when I have been there in Hawaii and they do look nice. So, for me, flying to Hawaii from Chicago I have gotten up in the early early hour of the morning to take the 777s directly to Hawaii. But if I know that I can not get up the wee hours of the morning then I do a one stop into Los Angeles then take a 777 or 767 from there.
