Huge thanks to Ubisoft for the super early copy. Review (maybe) later as I have a lot on my plate right now, but all guides are done and scheduled to publish. Expect a lot of stuff soon ;)
Two things from the top of my head:
First of all the Ezio Revelations Outfit looks as slick as I imagined in game and I'm loving it.
Secondly, the stealth and stealth specific movement looks really smooth and satisfying.
Really? I thought the stealth and hidden blade kill animations looked incredibly stiff
@@vanity1602you must not be watching then.
it is stiff. Older games have better and smoother animations than this one.@@ienjoyedmystay5521
Superpower indestructible hands

Did he just zipline with his bare hands???
â@@lildaiki7629yeah he does
Pure callouses bruh. Would be like shaking hands with Ben Grimm
I always say, "Play just one AC game and you've played them all"
Revelations was the first AC I ever played and made me fall in love with the franchise, seeing this outfit in a new game is crazy!!
Show any doubter of this game this clip and I think you could change a lot of minds. This is classic AC right here. Sure, the parkour isnât up to Unity level, but it is still fun and a lot more agile than the past few games have been. And the return of this old school, one big city map is so dang nice. I truly feel like I am playing Brotherhood or Revelations again for the first time. I am super happy with this game so far, five hours into it myself.
What about the story? 80% of why ac is good is story and exploration
@@asain3586 ok, what about the story? Sure itâs no Ezio trilogy but itâs definitely not the worst AC story Iâve played so far (I will say Iâm still very early into the game at this point). Also to counter, the story is never a huge issue to me anyway. I enjoyed the hell out of Syndicate despite its universally meh story and actually have Syndicate in my top three AC games because of how much fun it was to play the game. So Iâm definitely not the only AC fan who doesnât necessarily hold the story in such high regard. Of course a great story makes a game better, but if Iâm having a good time playing the game itself I really donât care about the story that much. For me, this is a classic-feeling AC game that I have wanted since the RPGs started and Iâm happy with it.
Man... watching this is bringing me all the way back to ac1 running around in masyef and Jerusalem....i cant wait.
Aside from the weapons being an eye sore, this was good gameplay. Always wanted to see the revelations outfit in a new game. That and the Ishak Pashak (my bad if misspelled) armor w mask would be badass too
Revelation outfit! Heck yeah!!
Mirage marketed as ''coming back to roots'' but I don't think it's living up to that motto. Ubisoft needs to stop doing AC games with this engine and come up with a whole new system. Parkour, combat, everything is so stale now starting with Origins.
Fr thereâs no real parkour, itâs just Basim leaping up, they need to ditch this engine
Uknow what I'm thinking, how like they had certain wars that were going on during that time it was set I think, in some previous games, so put the Persians vs Romans especially during Khalid ibn Al waleed who was the greatest commander/warrior/fighter, and won battles when the odds were impossible, but idk if its set in the time this is so I might be wishing
It's a start to going back to roots as I see it. It's not a bad game, though. Let's hope we get closer to the assassins creed I grew up with soon, though. Ac 2 got me into gaming when I was a kid
Have yall even played AC1? Because mirage is the same BUT BETTER. The only _BIG_ difference is the combat. Parkour is more realistic than a dude just hopping around the map with no momentum so it looks "faster"
Don't get me wrong the older AC games are better but nothing beats the AC1 map style bc after AC1, the only parkour option was on the side of the buildings and you'd just hop around the same types of roofs. AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED WITH THE ROOFS, archers EVERYWHERE _especially_ AC3. There's just chimneys on Unity but that's it for ALL AC games except AC1 and some of AC2.
Me personally I like how the assassin's bureau are in the same structure as AC1 unlike valhalla. I also don't use the telportation option, and I play on the hardest difficulty: which isn't that hard but still keeps up the challenge with other AC games.
I LOVE how they speak Arabic just like AC1 I'm also Egyptian so it's nice to see an AC game where it originated from where I'm from.
Also you don't have to play like this idiot that just doesn't know how to play a true AC game and just goes in guns(swords) blazing and playing like he's speed running smhh
You can literally play this game like a regular AC game if you want to, the gadgets are just a option not forcing it on you...
â@@XxCrxckedraiderTHAT'S LITERALLY EVERY AC GAME _EVER_
for crying out loud yall AC fans are FRUSTRATING and just going to keep complaining ever since AC3 and AC unity NO MATTER THE EFFEORT THAT'S PUT INTO GAMES
if you don't like the game...
DON'T BUY ITTT
I really miss the old fluid combat system.
It wasnât really fluid at all looking back though. Required very little skill- Just stand there and counter, and just chain together kills in AC: Brotherhood. The enemies were total pushovers.
And I was a huge fan of AC in middle and high school. Was my favorite game for a long time. But after playing Ghost of Tsushima, I realized that the combat in AC was way worse. Ghost of Tsushima outdoes AC in all main gameplay aspects. The combat there requires you to be mindful of your surroundings, watching for archers, and you need to have precise timing to block enemy attacks. Whereas AC is just- hold block and click square.
This is the kind of game that is getting hate now but will be called underrated after 5 years from now.
usually how it goes for any ac game that is not ac2
He is actually pretty fast in this footage ngl.
The players: âhey we want something like unity.â
The devs: âwhatâs unity?â
Itâs Valhallas engine not unity and unityâs engine is old and outdated as good as it is.
Its better than unity
Awesome..I like the assassins focus
This looks a lot better than i expected honestly.
Nah even assassin creed unity had better parkour and multiple assassination mechanics looks mid to me idk
@@user-km4nb4ko9g Assassin's creed unity stealth is below mediocre. It is super basic and relies on spamming smoke bomb and phantom blades, unity has the least creative stealth in ac franchise.
Bro thatâs literally what this game consists smoke bombs and weak throwing knives it was even in the trailers đ ac unity flowed way faster than this crap takes more than 5 seconds for assassination to complete your literally stuck in place till itâs done
It just feels cheap to get multiple assassinations on slow mo and pressing analog only to have dude glitch from kill to kill with the same animation
@@user-km4nb4ko9gUnity was littered with way more glitches than this game, it was even considered broken on launch. The parkour, if you can even call it that, was literally just flying from roof top to roof top. Arno could jump ungodly lengths while being 2 feet above the ground. His walking animations were slow, and so was his air assassination. Don't even get me started on that. I never could get into Unity, Mirage feels better to me, but I can see the appeal after the patches. But neither is without their flaws.
God this looks fucking amazing, and I'm so glad you can wear Ezio's Revelations outfit, I've wanted that added for ages and it really suits Basim.
Nothing amazing about this, except the graphics.. the combat and parkour animation sucks
â@@alferinclan6933đđđ cry about it
@@alferinclan6933go cry. Games better than you think. Is it perfect, no, but is it good, yes
â@@alferinclan6933cry some more
@@alferinclan6933 How do the animations suck at all? We've seen bad animation in this franchise in Odyssey, and this is worlds apart, it looks fluid and realistic. In fact, I'd say it's the best parkour animation we've had in the entire series other than Unity/Syndicate, which game would you say has better animation other than the obvious two?
Seen / played it many times before. Thank the heavens for indie game developers keeping creativity going, and thus my gaming interests alive!
I said the same thing. Same exact game that has been coming out since AC1.
This looks amazing cant wait to play it when i can. Wish the combat was apart of the focus cause then this would be perfecr for me to spend thousands of hours in like i did with odyssey. Great contentđ
This looks cool, how alive eould you say the world feels? I loved in games like unity walking through the city and seeing how alive it felr with every citizen doing something
Solid gameplay. AND in my favorite assassin's robes??!?
Is it my birthday?
Are the lightsabers in game or exclusively in the store? I don't wont the best weapons in the game to be lightsabers and laser guns like on Valhalla
So cool that you have the dagger of time hehe. Nice easter egg
Just hours away! Pumped!
I love the outfit, the stealth, and the world is SO perfect for a parkour game. 2 critiques. Parkour looks good but again can always be improved upon. Wish side hopping was back. And 2, combat still seems like the rpg type, however I can see they tried and fix some aspects of it but it just needs to be a little more realistic for me to feel satisfied. Regardless everything else looks VERY well done, from graphics to mounted traveling to the stealth. Good work Ubisoft. Keep ironing it out and u can make a perfect ac game
everything was perfect except the combat and the fact you cant double assasinate. somehow ubisoft seem to always miss something
You know the double hidden blade didnt exist at the time ??? 300 years before altair's time....ignorant
The virgin Ezio, needing a hook blade to zipline vs the chad Basim, doing it bare handed
I love that we finally have this outfit in a recent game but the hood's beak is wrong, it shoul cover more of the eyes, if it wasn't for that it would be perfect and it would make me consider using this rather than basim's 2 (3 if we consider the mentor outfit) outfits
Played it today, i am still impressed by his bare hand rope sliding skills. I wonder which material his flesh is made of.
hace un homenaje enormemente a Ezio con ese atuendo, me encanta!
Man. Double hidden blades and double assassination would really be cool. His smoke bomb in 2:51 could've been cooler and executed faster if Basim had a double assassination. But still, good job for making him look great.
Edit: Also at 3:30 it could have been cooler!! đđ BRING BACK DOUBLE ASSASSINATION!!
Gotta be honest I was expecting when ac mirage was still being worked on its parkour would be a lot more like ac 1 and ac eizzo trilogy but this is still quite great
The drip is immaculate.
Someone please make a mod where Basim is yelling in pure pain as he ziplines with his bare ropeburned hands đ
Basim's hands might have some 4th degree burns right now from sipping through the rope with only his hands.
I'm so grateful they brought back the Revelations outfit
One of the fastest assassins in history right here, I'm speechless đś.
Wym fastest like story wise?
Wher did you pull that from? You're ass?
â@@merksftw6528seen other people comment about how quick he is, I was thinking movement but could be story too
They still make the poor assassins zip line with their bare hands. Such a harsh fate
The hand zipline really bugs me. Dude would have no hands left after the first minute of this gameplay

so far no outlets seem to be talking about the parkour element in depth. Could you perhaps devote a video to that? I loved the more intricate system that Unity and such had. Where you could just press the button and get around. however there was an additional layer to level that could make things smoother and cooler depending on your skill and mastery of it. whereas, from the look of Mirage, it looks like boring contextual inputs where you're occasional forced to go ways you don't want
It's closer to Origins to be honest. Unity was unique and I think the reason it's not coming back is because a lot of folks complained about it back in the days. I personally always loved it.
But in short
- you can do the continous parkour by holding down the parkour/jump button (x on the ps5)
- going down is again done with the dodge button (hold it while on the ledge)
- everything else is contextual and depending on camera orientation (ex: if multiple obstacles exist on multiple levels, like a pillar up and some ledges down, Basim will grab onto the one you're facing closest to the center or still in-screen. Kinda like always )
- outside that, there are some animations when going from one obstacle to another that "smooth" and tie everything in. I think it's simplistic enough that anyone can have fun with it, and presents enough elements of randomness to pull off "skillfull" moments.
Unityâs system is purely contextual
@@Khrazegamingis the parkour down system still around that was present in unity and syndicate?
The deluxe edition is such an advantage bc the time dagger can slow time for 3 secs after a parry
What's with the particle effects after killing enemies? Assassin's Creed Sands of Time?
This just makes me onet a true prince of persia game agen
Some parkour animations like suddenly climbing up to 5 meters in half a sec (0:52),(0:24) need to be fixed cause it looks unrealistic and buggy and more like teleporting than climbing..it took me almost 5 minutes to do something like this yesterday in real life lol.....jumping on tents is also odd cause they are not solid...
I donât know what youâre on about those wall run are so clean. And donât talk about realism this is Assasssinâs Creed not parkour simulator lol
@@tonythefreerunner4628 its 2023 janky animations in a AAA game should not be present

"I will be Ok now." He said and ran BACK?!
Oh AC logicđ
Hahahahah. And they way he set him down and he pops right back up đ
Ubisoft does a hell of a job in cinematic trailers. But the gameplay, the same old mechanics, just a different world and a different story. May be they should have focused on a Black Flag Remake.
âHey the cinematic trailers are cool, but the game is same. Letâs try make an older game again and see how it goes. Iâm sure that wonât be the same either.â
Go back play ac 1 and stop saying nonsense
This is a step in the right direction. Black flag isnât even an assassins creed game. Itâs a pirate simulator. This game is more oriented around the assassins. As it should be
Reminds me of prince of Persia but without the drawbacks or instant deaths.
Most of this looks great but I miss the old combat look. I miss the realism of a sword bouncing off someone and not cutting through someone 5 times without doing anything.
Yeah this dark souls like combat that theyâve had for a while sucks. I miss old combat like arkam asylum style.
âââ@@allieboy181tbh, Dark Souls' combat isn't that great. Sekiro had an actually innovative and satisfying system. I agree that Arkham-style combat systems are much better. They still allow for a demonstration of skill while looking so much better than ARPG games.
@MaksymilianSwierad yup, I miss chain linking finishing moves too. This open combat style is trash.
@@dohnjoe9211 yes sekiroâs combat was very well done as well!
His hands after the rope slide đ
I have one question, did it feel like you were a master assassin? As opposed to a new recruit.
You are a recruit in this game
eventually, as you rank up....yes. But this footage is post-campaign stuff :)
Watch then DK,Swifty come harder with the stealth but Good gameplay
Everyone keeps saying that this is a return to AC's roots. Do you, now that you've played it, feel like it is? So far after everything I've seen, it feels more like Origins than like any classic AC. I love Origins, by the way. I just don't understand why people keep saying this is like classic AC.
Itâs a mixture of ac origins and the old ac games
except the base gameplay (movement), nothing else is like Origins.
If you dont understand it...then something is wrong with you...
âI mean itâs aightâ
Wouldn't it be great to have an Assassin's Creed with zero glowing weapons?
interesting unity had sword of eden soooo

Ezio Revelations outfit looks a bit off, is it because of high-quality graphics?
u should be able to air assassinate from farther away
It has some weird glitches
But not so bad like in Unity
This is how a revelation remastered version should be.
Reminds me of unity, man if only this game had coop and coop specific missions... Why Ubi đ
Does anyone else experience moments of fps dropping when doing certain assassinations? Playing it on ps5 and noticed it happening a few times
if only this game had the fighting style of ghost tsushimaaa it would be the greatest of all time
if i could toggle the sprint to be hold instead then i wouldn't have any complaints with the game
Still cannot believe there are no double assassinations
Yeah thatâs weird. Unless thatâs an upgrade? Otherwise this is an L
They just replaced those with the focus/fear takedown system. It's a good system as it gives both the kills and movement more of a continuous flow.
So the game is out ?
Are you not able to double assassinate?
Outfit looks amazing but...wth is that jump from building to building animation? Looks weird idk how to describe it

Im liking thisgame, but there isnt a lot of badass hidden blade assassinations. They are kinda boring which sucks
How do u gain ubi gold coins
This combat seems very slow and clunky, but I'll wait till I actually play the game to judge
God bless we wait 13 fucking years to get revelation outift for another ac game
They make really good assassin creed games but the combat đŠđŠđŠ
This is not it, i was kinda hyped for something more like the old Assassin's Creed but this is nothing that i wanted, the whole teleportation killing thing is just stupid, this is not Shadow of Mordor, or the glowing blue sword, and also the combat is not as fast paced like the first games, still it's an rpg without some things but at his main core, still plays like an RPG game, not an old AC game
glowing sword is likely the DLC swords from Sands of Time crossover
Looks like a reskin
It was a planned DLC for valhalla and became its own game instead
@@xFaZebRuTaLx should've stayed a dlc
AC FANS ARE EATING GOOD
In term of setting, dessert is not that interesting, but gameplay back to where its suppose to be
it's funny you say that because I find the desert to be best. I loved Origins just because of the setting. NOt sure why. Maybe the vibrant colors, the oasiss or the palm trees or the summer vibe. That's why Odyssey and Valhalla didn't do it for me. I just see that scenery every day.
@@Khrazegaming Perhaps its subjective depend previous game we play it or environment we live in..
