What's cool about making a 3D anime is that you could even turn it into a game if you want to.
I read the first chapter when it first dropped and been keeping up with the release of 2 (I also listened to the audio episodes too lol)
I do all that because I know what it feels like to want something (and you try your DAMN HARDEST) just to be unseen, and that's no ones fault, but it is soul crushing.
And honestly, I am tired of hearing that insanity thing since it means jack next to fiddle in these times.
Trying the same thing (the same exact way) is crazy... Taking a different approach is not.

dont forget you can hire an anime focused 3D modeler to make 3D rigs of your character in anime style and then you can pose the 3D rigs to make the manga and just have a manga artist touch up certain parts. This would increase development time tremendously. You could also use the audio from the audiobook and the manga panels to make a motion comic so people can watch\listen to it on youtube

I believe any project crafted with passion can outcompete any big compeditors who are just producing mindless satisfactory content re-fill!
But that said, your pathway to get discovered is most likely much much harder. Save budget on proper advertisements / sponsorships with content creators.

I also have the dream to make my own manga. Im working on the lore for years, (since 2017). After i discovered fiverr and started looking in these freelancing sites and a world just opened in my eyes. But oc is not an easy path. Manga costs quite a lot (and anime lets not talk about it) kinda 10k bucks per volume so for the average italian (which i'am) is almost an impossible goal with an average salary to make. But recently i started thinking what about ai? Oc i know that is very limited comparing it to human artists and animators but at least its a valid and cheaper starting point and ai is still evolving so maybe in the future theres a chance to make serious manga and anime with ai. Sorry for the poem but i got more motivated by seeing you publish your manga and even making into the top 3 best mangas ranked by shueisha. I kinda saw myself in you. Congrats man
I honestly feel that naivete is part and parcel of the beginning of a lot of projects.
I often wonder if projects would even get off the ground if you could foresee the obstacles (and associated headaches) you would have to face to make progress on a project and, if you didn't give up, to finally get a working model. Several of the projects I've done in the last couple of years probably wouldn't have gotten past the 'daydream' phase if I knew the pain I was going to go through. Naivete was the magic ingredient 😅

Jabrils I just want to say how inspirational you are. Your dedication for your own IP and how you wanna see it in it's true form is something that I had. For me, I'm very lazy, and my autism doesn't help. I'm an aspiring write. I have three ideas that I'm working on, three really good ideas. However, I'm not consistent with creating those ideas so I can finally write some stories. And that's the problem. I wanna be consistent. I'm tired of overthinking and burning out. Any advice? Oh and one more thing, You've tried all audiobooks but have you tried making a motion comic? I think a motion comic would be great. It's a mixture of audiobook and animation.
my advice is, as depressing as it might be, you are only 1 person with 24 hours in a day, 8 or more of those are dedicated to sleeping, thus, drop 2/3 of your stories, or merge them into 1 so that you can give all of your love passion & attention to that 1 child
Agree with Jabrils here. I totally understand - at one point, I had like 7 or 8 projects going on at the same time, and I didn't really get anywhere with any of them. I suggest putting all but one of them on the shelf for later, and focus on a single one. It might be worth having two projects to avoid burning out from doing the same project for too long, but nothing more than that.
As for overthinking, I used to do that a lot. Maybe it's autism, maybe something else, who knows. Over time, I slowly convinced myself to leave things imperfect as they are, so I could move on with the project. I don't really have any specific advice on that front, other than to try and realize when you're overthinking and moving to something else.

Im so glad you put in that editors note about the mouths, because I was thinking those models looked cool af and that is from someone with OCD who also can't stand pixelated things in their own work.
I have a suggestion for the janky mouth stuff. I have been developing an anime style rig of my own over the past 2 months and been using techniques devised by Arc-Systems Works that are used for guilty gear strive. A really quick and simple (and toggleable) fix for the shading on your entire character's head could be a normal transfer node in the modifiers, where you transfer the normals from a super simplified mesh (probably a sphere wrapped around the character's head) to your mesh for super clean details and shadows. I have also devised a method to control ambient occlusion, highlights, and glints manually using texture painting so that characters' bodies react to lightsources properly. If you want I could share the arc-systems works shader tree I came up with and show you how I solved the mouth issue so you can apply that to your work!

he wants me to make the manga, character designs, promo art, and art direction for the anime. which is a HELL of a lot of work when i don't even know if i'm gonna be getting paid for it (unless it's successful).

don't be afraid to just make shit. if you have a good story the art doesn't matter, just look at the original One Punch Man Webcomic. and how many people loved it. and now it's been adapted into one of the most loved manga and anime.
It's really cool that you got that far. In following you page I've learned to not fear trying new things even if they seem overwhelming and difficult.
About the manga, use AI to create the backgrounds and your 3D models to add in the characters. If you manage to blend it and make it into an art style that works, it'd be a quite easy way to create an entire chapter.

Creating art is a value in its own. You're already way ahead of me. I'm just daydreaming about creating what I like, you've been doing it for years.
Weirdly enough, I don't see this as a failure. If anything, I see it as a win. And I don't mean it in a "praying on your downfall" way.
Things like making anime are difficult to break into esp as a beginner. That 10k contains lots of valuable experience and lessons that can be extrapolated.

Yo you should use those AI animate tools to animate panels of the manga. You can only get minor movements out of them but it would still look pretty neat I bet
Honestly with a combination of 3d and 2d assets that you have under your belt and the scripts for the chapters in audio book. Why not just make the anime from that, the Naive Jabrils section of this video is almost the perfect representation of this.

I understand it if you are averted to using AI.
But since you said you wanted to produce it "at all costs" I'd recommend looking more into AI tools. Specifically I'm talking about ToonCrafter for animating your images. It's still quite new but imho quite impressive. It "just" needs some keyframes as input and interpolates between them, but it can also use sketches for guiding the animation. Of course this would give the best results, when the keyframes are drawn by a human, but using Stable Diffusion using Adapters (e.g. IP-Adapter) you could also get some really consistent results, or you could use your 3D Blender stuff as keyframes.
Alternatively I can only recommend to use a mocap suit, compared to the amount of money you already spent on this project it isn't even that expensive.

Rushing into foolish decisions like jumping right into making an anime, right off the bat, are enabled by that mindset.
I find it inspiring to see what you have accomplished, how dedicated you are; Given that you are this dedicated, consider that you can take your time with it; Enjoy it.

10k is nothing for an anime if go to Korea you can find a studio for 250k and that's considered low. Expecting anything for 10k was incredibly naive.

If you have the story planned out could you theoretically make the manga yourself? It would be some research but once you have the basics one page a day and in a couple years you will make a volume
I think unless you are personally making the animation you wont ever be able to make it affordably. Animation can be the most labourious and time consuming craft possible only outdone by maybe videogames which themselves use animation. There are plenty of things out there like, umami for example who at the start of their show were not a particularly good artist but had a solid story and vibe but by the end of it were making technically and visually impressive things.
Also this is your baby so noone will care about it as much as you do.
You seem to be getting better over time at everything you do so you just gotta start somewhere no matter how bad it feels to you.
First you start with a novel. Then you make the manga and finally you make the anime.
