BURR TRAIL: THE BEST motorcycle adventure in UTAH. BOULDER to BULLFROG to CAPITOL REEF & GLEN CANYON

- Part asphalt, part dirt, the Burr Trail extends from Boulder in Utah to Bullfrog on Lake Powell. Meet the new friends I met on the way and travel through the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Capitol Reef National Park, and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area with me.
"This is the most God-forsaken and wild looking country that was ever traveled“ stated Josephine Catherine Chatterly Wood in 1882 about the Burr Trail. Roughly 140 years later, I was about to follow her footsteps. Here is how to travel the Burr Trail right and not to miss out on the best sights:
- Stay a night in Boulder at the B&B Annie's Place and enjoy the views on the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. But Annie is not present. Instead Jared will be your host. Enjoy the best breakfast you had all day - and soak up all his information about the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument, Boulder and the Burr Trail
- Hit the road early in the morning and get petrol in Boulder downtown. There are no gas stations before Lake Powell.
- Ride the first section of the Burr Trail through the Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument that takes you through the Gulch and Long Canyon
- Stop at the singing canyon, hike into the beautiful slot canyon with its high rock walls ... and sing! The echo is amazing!
- Section 2 of the Burr Trail takes you through Capitol Reef National Park. The asphalt ends here and a good dirt road starts
- The best part of Burr Trail: The Burr Trail switchbacks! Drive cautious to not fall down the cliffs!
- Section 3 of the Burr Trail takes you along Waterpocket Fold - with amazing views and a gravel road like an Autobahn
- Drive through the Bullfrog Creek Crossing. This part of the Trail can be flooded and impassable if Lake Powells waters are high
- Arrive in Bullfrog and hope that there will be a ferry to Halls Crossing.
Good Luck! ;)

My girl and I are sitting with popcorn a soda and a small box of candies, like we are at the movies. Let the show begin!
I love someone not from here singing John Denver in a canyon in the US. Glad you had a good trip.
woww wowww wowwww Such a beautiful jurney . Amazing place on earh looks like heaven. i also appriciate excellent camera work. always stay blessed and stay safe.
You do such a beautiful job narrating and filming your journey. You inspired me to see some of these places.
Burr Trail on bike would be magnificent! Than you for including us on your adventure!
thank you Lea for being able to travel around the USA with you😘😘🇵🇹
It's cool seeing my backyard from the perspective of someone foreign. Glad you came, glad you liked it.
she does have a very good voice. Stunning scenery and excellent narration/story as always.
Thank you. And yes, she saved our singing canyon visit for sure. Imagine you would have had to listen to me singing any longer 😂
8:47, wow, so soothing voice.
🎵Country roads... Take me home... To the place... I belonggg 🎵🎵😊
Wow beautyfull, stunning no word's
Love the drone footage and singing in Song Canyon. We’ll be there in a week and a half to experience these awesome views! Thank you for sharing.😀👍
you gonna finally get that all of us wanted to go with you.
Then I hope you will come with me again next week for a start!
Because of your video, I did a solo ride from Mexican Hat to Bullfrog to Boulder. Spectacular! Thx so much!
Yes I could listen to her forever. So Brave.
You make me dream with your videos, thank you Lea!!!
Beautiful video! Makes me want to retrace your path across the Burr Trail.
I love watching your PROductions! The picture quality, the music & narration are a joy to view. Greetings from Kentucky.
Hello, my friend.
Wow, it's so beautiful and moving motorcycle driving 💗🍀💛 video.
Especially the scenery of the valley is amazing and beautiful.
Have a lucky day 💝💜🍀
👍👍👍🤙👌
What a country, so many contrasts, beautiful song in the narrow canyon, wonderful to see a part of the US that seems on another planet far away from all the troubles in the cities.
Thank you so much for this nice comment!
Wow!!! Lea, your female travelling companion has an amazing voice 👏👌
Wow! Absolutely beautiful! I think this was one of your best. I've never heard of the Burr Trail before. One thing I was certain of when the day started was that, I would not be hearing Lea "John Denver" Rieck singing in the "Singing Canyon." Thanks Lea, this was very entertaining! 😎
You were lucky though that not only I was singing 😂
I have to admit though that this is one of my favorite episodes too. It’s very funny though, we didn’t plan to ride the burr trail in the beginning and just decided to do so when we saw it in Boulder that evening. And turned to be out such an amazing day.
Beautiful place grand canyon..... nice area broooo..carefully drive
COOL, NICE TRIP.
The way she was standing and singing got me into tears.
Although I’ve lived my whole life in the eastern US, I have made multiple trips to the all of the states you’ve shown so far. Yet it has been an international visitor who has shown me several sites I’ve never seen. Thank you for that and for doing it so well.
Thank you for this big compliment. But I guess it’s as well a compliment to your own country. I have been in the USA quite a few times now, but the more often I visit, the more new places are on my bucket list. I have already 10 more places I really want to ride in Utah and Arizona… always a good reason to come back! It would probably take a lifetime of exploring to see everything that is worth to be seen.
Well said and so true, beautiful capture 👍🏽
WOW WOW WOW absolutely awesome 😁😁😁
Hello my dear friend, saludos desde Colombia, excelente video, lindos paisajes, buenas rutas
I LOVE traveling
Me too! 🙏🏻

Thank you!
Hello there. i am your follower from Uganda. I like your episodes especially the journey from Italy to Morroco and to Mauritius, Lake cuomo and all the rest of the episodes around Africa. Cheers
I have no words to describe how stunning the scenery was on the Burr trail, the scale simply blows your mind, absolutely loved it...
I have to admit it still blows my mind too. And the weird thing is that it’s even more majestic in real life. I really love the videos of the landscape I took for this episode, but still they can’t do the real dimensions of these canyons any justice…
Wow mam 👍👍👍
Very beautiful 😍
What a wonderful voice
🙏🏻
Thanks for sharing !
Just................................. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!! + a dash of EPIC!!!!!!!!!!!! 👍👍
Stunning.....
Thank you!
Hi Léa amazing eps and landscape...
Even though I use my truck or Jeep to travel the Burr Trail, I’ve enjoyed watching your video. Keep up the wonderful adventures.
So beautiful! Thank you for sharing your amazing videos, trip, and you have more information about each place than those of us that have live here in the States. I love that you were singing John Denver "Country Roads". He is my all time favorite singer, his songs kept me company and kept my heart happy on many long trips. Stay safe out there. God bless and keep you safe.
So beatiful......
Thank you Eva!
Good to see what Utah looks like from here in Ohio. I read and enjoyed your book also.
Thanks for posting this Lea. This was a fascinating trip through some of the most rugged country in the US. Once again, your commentary was informative and a pleasure to listen to. I'm already looking forward to the next edition of this lovely series!
Thank you! The next episodes from Utah will as well be super beautiful - it’s just a fantastic place to ride!
Awsome scenery and good information in comment..,👌👌
Thank you!
Very interesting adventure / I look forward to visiting the US / for a long time / Thank you very much .

Bravo!
🙏🏻
wow!
Seriously, Lea, i can't get enough of these views (and roads and breakfasts and singings and lakes and motorcycle travel videos), too! So: can't wait the next yummy slice of America and thank you!!
But: no swimming in lake Powell! I think that would have been a good end of the episode too. 😂
Another great video. Keep them coming.
Spectacular!
Your videos are true works of art...thank you for making my day again
Wow klasse Episode.
Wahnsinns Landschaften und wieder mal super gefilmt.
Weiter so.
Beautiful place, thankyou!
Judging from your recent videos Utah must be heaven on earth for bikers and nature lovers. Burr trail looks awesome.
For us Europeans Utah is known as a ski destination , now we know otherwise!
Utah is definitely one of my favorite places to ride a motorcycle in the USA. I have never been skiing there though but think the skiing in Utah is as nice as riding the Burr Trail!
Utah is incredible. We think of it as a ski destination in the US too, but also for having the most varied landscape of basically any state. Everywhere you turn there are incredible natural wonders. Utah is also known here as the mormon state, with over half of its residents identifying as Mormons.
spectacular! Thank you so much for sharing!!
Never stop traveling lovely Lea and never forget your camera. PLEASE! ❤️❤️❤️
Will do a bit longer for sure.
Love to see rural America through your eyes! Great video, commentary and music as always.
Thank you!
Spectacular shots and scenery.
Thank you for this adventure ! Now, We have to wait next Thursday !
The intro for these series is soooo awesome!! As for this video itself, wow, wow, and yes, what a great voice she has, Thank you Lea!! 👍👍
من أجمل الرحلات رحلاتك شكراً لك
Holy cow. Stunning
I just got your book... Could't wait. :D LOL Your videos are amazing!
Enjoy the read! Let me know how you liked it!!!
The beauty of nature! Two eyes are not enough to look beautiful! Their talk is so beautiful! Boundless joy, happiness & excitement for the viewers if the video is so beautiful!! Big Thumbs Up! 👍!!!
Thank you so much for this comment!

I’ve done this trail several times! It is an amazing stretch of road. Nice to top it off with the ferry ride!
One of the lit videos. Awesome!
Very nice video Lea , greetings from Romania!
Thank you! I hope that I can visit Romania too again at one point - it was actually on my list for this summer but then plans changed all of a sudden
superb video lot of thanks.
I've ridden near Escalante, etc many times but never knew about the Burr Trail --- next ride for sure!
A lot of people here in Utah are like the host at Annie’s. It’s why I don’t dare move
Awesome scenery. This has to be on my bucket list of rides. Thank you for the inspiration :-)
my backyard.. the southwest USA is absolutely gorgeous. great vid..
Burr ttail thrilled me,im enjoying to view your journey in youtube.
Staggeringly beautiful !! and I love the share massive scale of it all and the emptiness of it, it must have been fantastic being a cowboy sleeping under the stars next to a fire, simply amazing
Either it must have been fantastic - or maybe you just died from a appendicitis like Burr himself 🥶😅
Thanks for the video. I live in the US and I have been to many places out west, just not the places you are going. Thanks for sharing and I will need to make another trip to Utah!
Yes there are so many things that I still want to see in Utah - I couldn’t even do 10 percent of what I wanted to see!
Bonjour...formidable voyage , des vidéos à couper le souffle. Merci à toi .belle route .😉
great voice and awesome video. Thank you and be safe
Hallo Lea,
Oh gratuliere, wieder klasse gemacht.
Weiter so, hoch interessante Serie!
Danke dir! ☺️
Die junge Frau ist eine sehr begnadete Sängerin und ist wie schon in Westafrika die Passagierin “meines Boys” 😉
Brilliant, stunning scenery great route , thanks
Thank you!
I'm watching these in reverse order until I catch up, so I've only watched the Valley of the Gods and this one, but, ma'am, what a great job you've done. I can't wait for net week's video!
That’s an interesting strategy - doing the trip in reversed order! But Utah was very special on this journey so you did a good job with starting with those videos. Welcome to the channel!
