I just wanted to let you know that John 19:31 says "for that sabbath day was an high day". They were preparing for Passover. Christ Jesus of Nazareth was crucified in the midst of the week as prophet Daniel said in Daniel 9:27. Thursday was Passover, Friday was the first day of unleavened bread, and Saturday was the seventh day Sabbath. King Jesus rose before the sun went down on the Sabbath to fulfill the sign of Jonah. He did not rise on Sunday. It was yet dark in John 20:1 when Mary went to the sepulchre and Christ was already risen.
