@@tr-qr7pw There is certainly some Opeth influence, but to say they sound the same is a huge stretch. Especially with Wilderuns older albums. Which I highly recommend.
@@yutface Maybe "wannabe" sounds a bit negative, I meant to say that you can hear that they are inspired by opeth and that they are death instead of black (just like opeth is).

Lol Wilderun sounds exactly like Opeth, you should have picked less boring bands like Cognos, Gorod, Rivers of Nihil, Thy Catafalque or Vektor.
@@dementialdistortion I definitely get opeth vibes from the lads but it doesn't sound anything like new opeth and doesn't really sound anything like old opeth either. There are elements that remind me of various breakdowns from blackwater Park/ghost reveries but other than that they really are wildly different in approach and especially orchestration and mood.
Most definitely similar to opeth, nowhere near identical.

@@dementialdistortion Opeth has not released a metal album since 2008 ! That's 16 years now. Unless you have been asleep all this time. Also the bands you mentioned have prog elements but they are not prog in the sense of Opeth or Wilderun (long tracks with lots of variation on repeating themese, and so on).
This band has serious depth. Hope you can hear it...

Damn! Definitely not a song for beginner prog listeners. I've listened to prog for 10 years yet this song was a lot to take in for me on first listen. My only problem was that this single version felt rushed and incoherent. I'm sure the full version would be a lot better.
