It's easier for a flight simmer to get used to a plane than a real life pilot to get used to the flight sim
It's the truth...lol
In real life you can feel the controls and what's happening with the aircraft.
exactly!!
That's fair
I flew a Cessna 172 in msfs and then in real life for the first time real life was much easier from accurate depth perception to being able to look around freely
@@thatdude7652 sounds like VR could fix that in msfs
The 747 behaves like a Cessna in FS2020, it can take off at 90kts, so no wonder you could not keep it on the ground at 120kts, it was not your fault, the plane is super bugged xD
I think they forgot to put the seats and passengers in.
It'd be too hard to fly for simmers if they didn't level it down a bit lol.
@@robotslug point is it should be as close to real life as possible. It is not good sim if it is not
@@tuomasvesanto3703 Facepalm.
The bigger airliners fly straight with 10 deg pitch up and high throttle when using an autopilot. So it is no wonder the 747 flies like a Cessna. Also the challenges start with a rock drop and the thrust from the engines slowly adjusts to the throttle settings. Even if you fly the 747 without chairs, cargo, fuel and people it wouldn't bounce like the Gummi Bears at that speed.
"This is your captain speaking, today I will be working from home"
If that ever happens am buying myself an old plane and flying it myself.
@@droidmotorola3884 Oh, im right with you on that one. I trust the pilots, but not the connection. And as a tech and engineer in the Broadcasting industry, i will tell you. Satelites or not, those connections are never 200 souls onboard stable.... Plus we can have up to 5+ seconds delays.. So imagine i push the yoke, it takes 3 seconds until the plane reacts, then 3 more seconds untill i see the plane reacted for me to make the next 'move'. Heck no... So yeah, i dont see this ever happening
“Thank you for flying Microsoft Airways; where we can have 24 hour flights with few stops for thanks to pilots rotating in and out on their computers. Have a safe flight.”
Love the little full body movement he does while he’s landing. The instinctual movement as if moving in his chair was going to move this simulator plane is neat to me.
You can tell a 747 pilot when he thinks 160 Kts is kinda slow. That's sky high for us single engine pilots.
Exactly what I though, the rotation speed is the piper archers I currently fly are 57 Kts lmao
@Harry M Hahah, I'd really hope so
Yo mojo luv your videos, keep it up and stay safe.

frankly, i would love to hear my pilot say this. knows he's doing it outside the professional life in his personal time
I'm a Cessna pilot, but I've been trying my hand at the 747-8 on MFS, with disastrous results. I even spent a few hours with an airline pilot with 14000 hours, who set up the LOC and ILS and still repeatedly crashed it as well. Then, after several attempts, I finally landed it at Frankfurt. The secret, forget the instruments. Land it like a Cessna.
Is this fixed as of today by any chance ? Your comment is almost 1 year old and i'd like to know if this has been adressed by MS or not . Thank you in advance .
@@Antidepressiva1980 yes it has
@@wizjo3601 thx mate
I've found this with the 787, I set up the approach and the plane goes off in the complete opposite direction. So now once I set the approach up, I turn the AP off, follow the path and keep it steady. Generally find that works

In all seriousness though, the lack of realistic physics for a lot of these planes is the reason why I'm currently not willing to purchase MFS2020
@dsd gds Both of you willingly ignore the fact that he doesn't have rudder pedals, nor did he press any buttons on the keyboard to actually use the rudder. He was used to Xplane11 way of using the yoke on the ground to control the rudder... That's bad sim if you think about it. MSFS doesn't have that, instead he got it to bank right which is actually what would really happen in real life if you tried it. That's a good sim if you think about it. This has nothing to do with MSFS's physics which are a bit quarky right now, I'll admit, but rather Kelsey's lack of knowledge about the keyboard buttons. I believe it's numpad-0 and numpad-Enter, btw. Same buttons will control the tiller on the ground.
You're just looking for confirmation bias for Xplane11, and to be honest, I haven't played it much, I only had the demo but from the demo - it felt a bit different than MSFS but for the most part it was the same. Then again, I'm no pilot so I can't compare it to real life. Something tells me that you two can't either.
Although, I do bounce pretty often with the airliners in MSFS for some reason even after pulling to idle and hitting reverse and landing on very low speeds, just like Kelsey did here. I knew there's something wrong there. Glad to know that. Aside from that, MSFS is indeed a good simulator.
@dsd gds How is Xplane 11? Is it better in that regard? What put me off it was all the constant DLCs - but might be worth it if the physics give you a more realistic feel...
@@vl3005 Other people said as well that the physics are bugged, at least of certain planes. A bouncy 747 seems a little disappointing tbh but maybe some realism overhauls are gonna come out, like for flight simulator x.
It was such a peaceful crash.

im a flight student, and a couple of my friends in the flight program got together one time and we all tried to take off and land a 747 in microsoft flight sim 2020. we all took off barely, but the challenge was to land the jet on our runway. were all at different levels, but i think it would be really fun to see someone who knows what he is doing to try it. ironically, our friend who has had the least flight experience got the closest. it was a great time. we appreciate youre videos!

I respect the fact that you did a decent landing on your first try. I know your used to literally be in the aircraft so flying on computer is chaotic. The way you landed on your first tries, even though you crashed on the first and overrun on the second, it took me weeks to perfect my landing on Microsoft. Great job lol
Do you in real life search for the buttons?
Kelsey: Uhhhh where is that button?
Since he's a three striper, the left seat adds a bit confusion to the mix. And FS2020 has a wide interpretation of the cockpit setup. As a real pilot you also usually don't use a mouse to turn stuff in the cockpit and some controls are turned by the guy sitting closer to it. Some of these controls like radio freqs or transponder are also hard to set in FS2020. Some times it's the zoom blocking it, sometimes it's a pixel difference between inner and outer knob.
lol i read that in his voice
He is not a real pilot dude, he is a youtube pilot !

As an experienced flight simmer (23+ years) I'd say you were flying with a badly modeled 747 (not the worst though). So, it completely makes sense why you had issues with it. In my opinion, the best add-on model at this time is the 747-400 and -8 by PMDG (for Prepar3D flight sim). I really wish to know your feedback on that add-on.
Also, you NEED to get a rudder (or a joystick with rudder axis). It's as important as having throttle, for quick reactions.

@@krystalbrooks6869 most planes can't land above 30kts crosswind (gust can go up to 50 though). So he is probably doing it for the funzies.

Thank you for doing flight sim. I love it! I know it’s not the real thing but it’s still cool to have zero experience and be able to land big planes on there. I’m struggling getting the nose up on the landing. I use the trim up and it still bounces
Revisiting this video though, I (not a pilot) couldn't get anywhere near as smooth on the landing as you in the sim. Assuming you didn't practice on this sim a lot, it's kind of cool to see how you're automatically better at this because of real life experience!
You need rudders, alot of sticks have a rotate z axis that can be used for rudder it's better than nothing.

I agree , with microsoft products you wait until they are about to bring out a new version , then you buy the version in which all the glitches have been worked out
microsoft is notorious for selling their beta versions to the public and using them as testers , instead of paying people to do the job
