- A fantastic four-goal display from Erling Haaland helped earn City a 5-1 win over Wolves at the Etihad Stadium and move us within one point of the Premier League summit.
The Norwegian was at his unstoppable best as he converted two penalties and an incredible header to seal a ninth City hat-trick before the half-time whistle was blown.
He then added the fourth eight minutes into the second period to restore City’s three-goal advantage just moments after Wolves forward Hwang Hee-chan had scored.
Late substitute Julian Alvarez added further gloss to the scoreline with a fifth in the closing stages.

erling asked off of champions league match ruudiger frustrated him I buy his unique talent hes lacking in lots of areas just so uniquely elite in couple. Whens last time he with baack to goal turned and smashed one home hes capable but hasnt. Haaland WORLD CLASS. 2 Good pens. The Athletic jump, the timing and the header is pure class for the second goal. On goal number 4 he gets a perfect first touch sets hits body towards goal and gets the ball going of his knee, then a explosive sprint before he ever so calmly set his shoot up with a perfect outside touch with his left foot and then we see the exceptional out of this world technique to smash it in the corner of the goal. Unbelievable performance!

Haaland may not have done much in decisive games, but if he at least has a good chance he will, today he made a comeback in games where he didn't score a goal.
He has done a lot. You can't score in every game
It’s very simple, he needs service. He doesn’t need a lot of it, he is very efficient. But if he doesn’t get service the blame is on the whole team not just him
He fits better in a counterattack style football, thats when he can use his speed and finishing.
4th Goal is the best example for it.
In possession based football, he will need to rely on teammates to score as he isnt that good in ball control and skills.

It's a whole different context vs packed defenses with quality defenders who can handle his lack of close dribbling and, let's be honest, poor passing touch.
A forward like Mbappe can play in the latter context. Haaland still needs to develop this. Good teams know this and play him accordingly.

Every time Haaland has the chance for a record, Pep takes him off. Very frustrating. He could have let him play the last 10 minutes. Alvarez has played almost every game and the last ones when Haaland was out, so he could have stayed on the bench this game. I totally umderstand he got irritated. Pep does it every time only with Haaland. When Foden scored a hattrick he let him play the whole game….
