Just a heads up… I moved into a space with HUGE south facing windows and was so excited and… my plants EXPLODED with growth. I feel like I’m repotting and watering every other day. Not a complaint. But I was not prepared. I have two plants that are over 8 ft tall now 😂😂 be prepared for your jungle to really ✨jungle✨
Really true! I have huge south facing windows and I had to start watering my plants so much more. But they are all so happy. 🤷🏼♀️🥰
I have a lounge that has huge east facing windows and glass doors. I feel this. All my monstera are about double my height 😆
I made an addition to my home, made it an office/plant room... I CANT KEEP UP WITH THE WATERING.... hahaha

theres studies that show that people's voices/laugh change as they process big life changes and process through their traumas and etc. Your voice, fern, is even sounding so much less tense, more open, slower, and peaceful. im so so happy for you

Buying my own place was the MOST stressful but also BEST decision of my life ❤ Congrats Fern!!🎉
Hi Fern, long time, no see.
Just some ideas on making your own aroid mix.
Large bag Succulent soil.
I brick coco coir (pull bits off and add to soil mix)
Bag of coarse pumice
Bag of perlite.
Mix handfuls of each into a plastic box on wheels until mix feels and looks nice and chunky.
Store under a table out of the sun.
Add water to aroid mix, only when you repot.
In summer add more Succulent soil to hold water a bit longer.
Winter add more coco coir and pumice to the mix for extra drainage.
Use filtered water if you can.
No root rot, no pests or diseases in over 8 yrs doing this mix, except aphids on syngoniums.....tossed plants out....theyre very prone to aphids.
Your OWN HOME looks awesome btw.

Great life update. Congratulations on your new abode! 17:12 The Cactus fern leaf issue looks like oedema. It happens to some of my orchids during the cooler months. It's when the plant takes up more water than it can transpire and the cells rupture, causing the blistering.
