What an unexpected shock! | The Barber of Seville

This scene is from Act 2 of Gioachino Rossini and Cesare Sterbini's comic opera The Barber of Seville (Il Barbiere Di Siviglia). Rosina knows the man she loves only as the poor student Lindoro, and in a previous scene, Dr. Bartolo, who basically holds her captive, persuaded her that Lindoro is just acting as a proxy for Count Almaviva. When Almaviva and Figaro turn up at midnight to help her escape, Almaviva's false identity begins to unravel...
