    Congratulations for another step forward in your journey! You are always increasing your knowledge. I remember several vlogs you posted of you caring for your parents chickens! I know you will do an awesome job of raising and caring for your own. Things are truly coming together. What a beautiful harvest of peppers. Be encouraged and pat yourself on the back for a great job and more steps moving forward! Huge thanks to your farmhand for being a blessing to you. It would be good if you planned to have a cockerel to fertilize the exotic ones,then you put the fertilized eggs on the nests for the indigenous to hatch them so that you can also feel that care for reproduced chicks

    • @jaelofthevillage
      @jaelofthevillage  Před měsícem

      That would be amazing. Yes,you can get the layers at different stages. They're a mixed breed and can roam freely just like the indigenous chickens.

    @ManoeuveringMidlife Před měsícem +2

    Thanks for this🙏, Jael!! When I click, I know I will learn something new. We have 9 hens but they stopped laying...so we're wondering what happened. There is evidence of eggshells in the coup so we suspect they're eating the eggs since they're probably lacking in some nutrients. Perhaps, we should consider a different chicken feed supplier. What would you advise?🤔

    • @jaelofthevillage
      @jaelofthevillage  Před měsícem

      I get you,darling. It is one of those very hygienic ways to keep poultry for commercial purposes. Roaming free is great,but chickens are so prone to diseases ,so I guess this is the best way to control spread of diseases and keep the eggs clean.

    • @thomasschwinn
      @thomasschwinn Před měsícem

      @@jaelofthevillage I don't know, do you really believe that? We can keep your shoes clean, sanitize them when we enter a chicken area and do not let just random.people attend that space and we don't have to put your chicken in these cages. If the eggs are not clean, we can just wipe them.
