- First a minute clip shared by Endershadow showing lioness resting animations which includes blinking eyes, moving paw, tail flick and head turn! This is WIP for the Recode, not an update before that.
Second is many small updates together, updates in this video:
-Herbivores can't attack near corpses
-Herbivores can attack near each other
-Lion stamina adjustment
-Topi/Hartebeest attack when latched
-Lion head changes
-New sprint icon

My only problem with corpse guarding comes in the form of elephants, when the recode happens. They should be able to attack near corpses, but only the corpses of other elephants, since you know, they chase predators away, to mourn their lost ones
No need for them to mourn on the game just move on

I'm so happy they did something about the corpse gaurding! kudos to the development team for adding this great feature! can't wait for the different laying animations, most likely coming out in the recode unless I'm wrong.
Yes, the laying animations are for the recode. Ludi had already made that pose for the lion just it isn't in game, then Ender has added the movements etc.
All these updates are cool. But imagine if they added meerkats 😮 (idk this just popped into my mind)
Last time I checked, meerkats aren’t on the planned animals list so sadly.. they aren’t

The only reson there won't be meerkats is they don't live in the Serengeti National Park, they live in the hotter desert areas such as Nambia.

Its so easy for predators to abuse the corpse guard, by leading a giraffe for example right toward a corpse, then attacking so the giraffe cant attack them back. It may become a huuuuge problem in the future.
Actually, while pounced on, the giff regains the ability to kick even if they are standing right on top of the corpse.
Source - Was a lioness in a pride, giff couldn't kick me while I was eating until someone else jumped on. The giff then proceeded to stomp on my body.
The new corpse guarding prevention is really nice, today a giraffe was trying to kos me while I was eating, but couldn't so it just stood there disappointedly before running away lol.

I remember one time i was a leopard, a giraffe was being pounced on by lions, there was a corpse near so i began eating and the giraffe went out of its way to attack me all while being pounced on.

For the corpse guarding, I say it's amazing! I just think that when foals or the offspring of any herbivore d!es this shouldnt apply, bc there are some cases where the Mother will stay and fight so her babies cold body dont get munched on.

the only thing i dont like about the not attacking when near a body is that someone said they was playing as a buff and there was lions that killed a rabbit then dropped it next to them and attacked them so they could not protect themselves but other wise i think its good

I usually play as a fish eagle so if I see that happening i'll be sure to pick up the rabbit and hide it in a tree.
lol that's good because the buffalo will run away they don't prefer to fight in real life
@@Imperian10bro that is true enough but lions irl will abandon a failed hunt while lions in ws will chase you non stop like a Terminator so usually the only way to get rid of them is by killing them.

Its good they did smt about corpse guarding but the only prob I have with it is that as a herbi I get attacked by lions all the time and when I get grouped near a corpse when a lion is low they will lay near the corpse and heal while the other lions attack me. They will take turns doing this so they don't die while grouping.

an easy way to solve corpse guarding:
health deteriorates if theres a herbivore standing next to a corpse for too long
But since that fixes corpse guard it'll also cause other problems... For example a lion keeps carebearing a Buffalo and another Buffalo comes along so the lion will just hide away near a body till it can carebear again 😔

What doesnt make sense is the lion stamina draining slower than a lionesses, considering the fact that irl lionesses are the ones who primarily hunt
Yes you are right, they drain at the same speed. Just the male takes longer to regain it. My mistake I fixed it now.

I kinda hate the corpse guarding update bc now the carnivores will abuse the protection. The maximum time for the protection should be 8 minutes to prevent abuse. When time runs out, then the carcass can't protect you anymore.

They shouldn't have added the possibility for herbivores to attack predators while near eachother, they can already team up and hit you if you miss the pounce or your stamina drains and you let go of the prey. This addition will just mean that if you're pouncing a herbivore, another one nearby will hit you while the one you're pouncing just sits there waiting for you to either let go and then hit you or for you to die. What they should do appart from preventing corpse guarding is preventing carebearing and kosing, both for prey and predators, but let's be honest, herds of animals such as wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, elephant, giraffe and a group of hippos and rhinos are going to be way more dangerous than a lion pride, they already are, and the recode and new animal additions is just gonna make it worse unless prevented. So for me the next things i want for the game is more rules and mechanics that prevent carebearing and kosing, like stress, which is what cenozoic survival has, that leads to a disease or to eventual death if you don't leave, or an automatically triggered animation from predators to kill the animal they're carebearing and they can't stop it and the other animal can't escape, kinda like... idk, their instincts kicking in and saying oh hey i'm a predator i forgot killing for food is what i do 😂and then what i want the most is the newer models 😂 I'm not saying everything should be treated as realism servers do but if everything is being made to represent realistic behaviour, movement and appearance, preventing both carebearing and kosing, both from predator to prey and viceversa and in between predators and herbivores should be the next most important thing to add, otherwise the game is just a war between predators, prides, and hunter vs hunted with no fun or realistic moments that will allow the players to experience the effort the creators put into creating all these mechanics, animations and models. But i understand this is a free roblox game with a lot of kids and teenagers and having moderators and rules wouldn't be easy nor fun nor would give the devs any beneffit as they're not making money from anything, so in return, we'll have to deal with that problem.

if wl woulded still stay here,lions would got so many corpses there and so be invicible basically lol but we moved all to gol rock and i didnt find many corpses but i tink this is a big buff for carnivores

When the recode will appear? Ludi lied he said in 2023 but it's almost half of year and he didn't added them yet!!
Hi he didn't lie, he just gave an estimate. At first he said by end of year, then some said it was in a month (that was back in October). Ludi doesn't normally gives release dates and honestly he was only giving an idea of when he thought it might released. The only reason it is delayed is due to Ludi working on combat as well, plus the fact he does this in his spare time and has college + exams going on as well. He will post a video when the recode is closer though.

Sadly it got delayed, Ludi is still working on it. He only estimated by Christmas, he doesn't do definate release dates as he works on this in his spare time.
