I only recently found out about your channel from the Zhiyun lights that were released today and my god, are you a breath of fresh air to the "video/photo" youtube scene. You actually work on professional gigs and not simply do videos in some basement with the god awful desk set up! I'm excited to have found you and keep being a stand out in comparison to all the copy/paste youtubers out there!
These look promising. Consider trying these lights in some place other than a fully equipped photo studio. Like a parking garage or a freight elevator or an URBEX location. I think that’s where the minimal size and battery capabilities would be best illustrated.
100% the studio was just to show that you could use them in the studio. I don’t feel like shooting this type of thing in the freezing cold. It was literally a snow storm that day lol
@@LeeZavitz The way they make things nowdays they are always going from smaller to smaller. That's a good idea for a next camera 12k pocket design. A superfan as the 80% of the body to prevent overheating. How is your hand from "shocking" by the way? haha
Outstanding! Can't believe how small but powerful those Zhiyun lights are. Looks like a great option for traveling while keeping the travel bag light. Thanks for this video!
❤ Awesome, what that tiny light can do, brilliant the results, good teamwork. - That electrostatic discharge can easily be avoided by several measures, like increasing the humidity to 60, better 70%, and/or no shoes with rubber soles or walk barefoot. If none of that is possible, I suggest to get used to always touching first everything else what is no electronic gear like the carriage. If it has non metal parts touch them first, that is also an insulator, you avoid the sparks but it discharges you also.
The size is incredible. I have to lug around a pelican 1620 for 3 lights and accessories and I'm pretty sure I could use a case half that size and have more than enough room.
The Dynamic Duo strikes again (Zavitz Tomato)! Thanks for the video these lights look pretty impressive although my method of a COB flashlight shined directly in the face of the model produce one of a kind shots :-) Cheers.
Careful with the static discharge, it can seriously damage electronic equipment like cameras or computers. I recently fried a monitor through a discharge over my USB hub while using a walking desk. I got myself a grounding bracelet, attached it to a nearby outlet to stop static charge from building up. Switching to shoes with different soles works also.
Thank you for making this video, for a long time, I've been saying that 100w of light power could be used in the studio, with the right type of setup, and now I can point this out to those who doubt it. I'll be interested in purchasing this once it's released and available in the U.K.
Yeah it depends on how you use it. Like I showed. If you start diffusing and softening the light you need more power and that’s why we ran 2 of them for that setup, but if you are looking for a harder light look it’s totally enough
Would be interested what one could do with it outside of a studio and without all those extra gear. just the mini softbox and the reflector attached to a boompole.
Great video, glad I watched it!! Forgive me for asking a question that’s already been asked a few times, but here goes… What fresnel were you using? The combination of the Molus and that fresnel looked really good and is, coincidentally, just what I’ve been looking for to use with a forthcoming project.
@@JandRstudios Thank you, I shall look into it… (I don’t mean I shall look into the lens because that would probably hurt my eyes, I mean, I shall check pricing and availability LOL!)
That was a cool shoot! Love the outfits. Wonder, would you use this light outside? Looks like you had a grounding problem there! Did that many times on a microphone back in my band days. Have a great day!
Great video! So keen on this light - the 60W also looks epic! How are you shooting directly into LR though? I have an M1 Max running Ventura OS and it just won't play nicely...
iso/aperture/ss ? I guess you were on 1/160s and f/5.6 or 8? Do I guess it right? If it's correct the iso should be not higher than 640 with this diffusion
Thanks for the vid, question though, what were your parameters ranging from, need to get an idea of how powerful this light is, at least were you able to get proper exposure at 5.6 ISO 200 @1/250th?
Love it but that would be a strange comparison. Two completely different lenses. I have my eyes set on the 24-70gm ii though. I still have the OG 24-70gm but as new cameras come out and the tests I have to do, I’m going to need the newer faster and sharper lens
I’m surprised everyone asking me this, I assumed this is common knowledge lol. Smartshooter4 is a tether tools plug-in for tethering Sony to Lightroom.
@@LeeZavitz Hey Lee, love it! Just ordered the molus AND the fresnel 2x. If I zoom the fresnel in all the way I can see color stripes projected onto the background. any thoughts?
The light listed at the top of the description is what we used. You are reading the list of stuff I typically use to shoot my talking head CZcams stuff in my office
I have no idea what model of monitor it is. It’s just what the studio had so I plugged in my laptop. Makes it way easier to see everything vs a small laptop screen
Warning to anyone that buys this light, especially if you want to use the app. My first time using the app it immediately bricked itself when I updated the firmware (exactly as instructed.) Having to return it as the app is very important for my usage and I can’t even connect to the light at all.

Thx bro
Shout Out to the model! Done Well!
Great job everyone. Top notch shoot.
What can I say brother, I'm "shocked" with this light! 🤘
I was worried it might overheat running for 7hrs at 100% but was totally fine. I think because it has such an open design it’s not an issue

What name of Fresnel Lens do you use in that shooting ? is that Godox FLS8 ?
Love that man, always with a great content
Appreciate it ✌🏼
What type/brand fresnel are you using?
Great bro👏
Thanks for watching!
cool light. Good luck on the spec shoot.
Not sure if Capture One does it, but Lightroom (slow I know) can do overlays while importing/tethered. No need to enter Photoshop.
amazing light
Would be interested what one could do with it outside of a studio and without all those extra gear. just the mini softbox and the reflector attached to a boompole.
I do nightlife and find the usual handheld lights aren't bright enough.
This thing at 40% power would probably be bright enough haha.
Remarkable
Yeah 100watts in a pocket light is crazy. And at 40% the battery would last over 1hr
what is the fresnel model ?
HELL MAN !!! i realy love your videos...
you realy make that look way to easy! Keep it up!
What fresnel was on there ?
These shots 🔥🔥🔥
