The Ed Sullivan Show was a television variety program that aired on CBS from 1948-1971. For 23 years it aired every Sunday night and played host to the world's greatest talents. The Ed Sullivan Show is well known for bringing rock n' roll music to the forefront of American culture through acts like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and The Rolling Stones. The entertainers each week ranged from comedians like Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield, to Broadway stars Julie Andrews and Richard Burton, to pop singers such as Bobby Darin and Petula Clark. It also frequently featured stars of Motown such as The Supremes, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder and The Jackson 5. The Ed Sullivan Show was one of the only places on American television where such a wide variety of popular culture was showcased and its legacy lives on to this day.

I saw the original cast on Broadway in 1969 on a school trip and in 1972 our teacher took us to see the premier of the film at Radio City Music Hall. Wonderful memories! 😁👍🇺🇸
You are so lucky, my friend.
My mom took me to the broadway show when i was 12 years old. It was fantastic.
As if William Daniels wasn't already cool enough as KITT, Mr Feeny, and the dad in The Graduate, I now see he did a Revolutionary War musical? He truly is the gift that keeps on giving.
Watch the movie version from 1972. He is astoundingly good.
You tell 'em Mr Feeney ! 😊
I love that show!! Never saw the play but I love the movie.
Absolutely love this musical🥰🥰
The first Broadway show I ever saw: I was a high school junior, and fell in love with live theater. ❤
At the 1:00 mark we can see John Cullum as Edward Rutledge just behind William Daniels.
Thanks for showing me a “Blast from the Past”…😊! I can see why William Daniels was able to play such an effective “Dr. Craig “ on the tv show “St. Elsewhere “…good memories!
Have a great day!
The movie though is one of the best historical movies of all time. It is a musical and somewhat of a comedy, but it really tells the story of America so well. William Daniels is John Adams. Ken Howard is Thomas Jefferson.
Never saw this musical! I do remember the fervor of the bicentennial when 1976 rolled around. 🎉💥 Great performance here!💜
It's an Essential. Watch it. 😊
Watch the movie.
My favorite show
Prime time network television, back then..
From playing a Founding Father to playing a high school teacher! Go Fee-hee-hee-eeeeenay!❤
He's why it was "John Adams" High School.
@@pendorran He was even in THE GRADUATE with Dustin Hoffman and Ann Bancroft. He's been in the entertainment industry as long as my parents have been alive!❤
Feeneh Feeheeheeneh Feeeneee iykyk 😂
Fun fact: William Daniels was nominated for a Tony for this show, but declined the nomination because it was for Best Supporting Actor, and (as anyone who has seen the show can tell you), John Adams is the star.
Did the Tony’s even saw the show!
I didn’t know William Daniels appeared on The Ed Sullivan Show? 1776 became a movie in 1972 and ten years later he played cardiologist Dr. Mark Craig on the Emmy Awards winning St. Elsewhere and from 1993-2000 as Mr. George Feeney on Boy Meets World and Girl Meets World😀👍🏿🎉🎆🎊⛑️
William Daniels, as in St. Elsewhere, Knight Rider, and Boy/Girl Meets World?
yeah that's him.
@@1talldaddy I thought it was, he just looks so young there.
Man, John Adams gets bullied in 2 musicals now
