  • Today's video is going to show every single Chrysler 300 model 0-60 and ¼ mile times since the LX/LD versions were introduced in 2005 (2.7L V6, 3.5L V6, 3.6L V6, 5.7L V8 Pre-Eagle and Eagle, 6.1L V8, and 6.4L V8 engines) done slowest to quickest. I've also added the UK-spec 3.0L CRD versions, the 300C Touring Wagon, and the European Lancia Thema in here.
    For each, I've obtained footage of each vehicle going 0-60, along with photos of the car, and some comparisons to other similar cars. I’ll also add the official stats from Chrysler/Motor Trend/Car & Driver as well as the top speed for each (taking into account the governor which is electronically limited to match the tire capability the car came with).

    The 300 is just such a depressing story. Chrysler made a really great car and then basically abandoned it. Do you know how hard it is to find a full-sized passenger sedan these days that is not classed (and priced) as a luxury car? It aint easy. The 300 pretty much had a corner on the market for large sedans priced under $80k. And they were good cars, well built and borderline luxury for the price. This was a huge miss for Stellantis. It was money in the bank. All they had to do was update the damned car every few years.

      I remember reading somewhere that the Chrysler/Dodge engineers brought a redesigned chassis for the LX platform cars, but Fiat said, 'No'.
      So I know Stellantis was going to say even more 'No', when it came to the 300/Charger/Challenger.

      yes, I had been looking for a low mileage 300c with the 5,7 hemi for a year.,,. finally found an 06, with 56,700 miles,, original owner, garage kept. 86 year old woman owned it, and it likely never was driven over 70 mph.. has a few cat scratches here and there, and a few dings from shopping carts, but still in great condition.. best 5 grand ive ever spent. your right, theres no newer cars out there that come close to the quality of the older 300c for under 60,000 bucks

    Just a heads up, you can use a 0-60 timer on the 2007 generation Chrysler 300's If you hold the bottom two buttons on the steering wheel (Music note and menu buttons) for 7 seconds. Then you can go through that menu to the 0-60 timer.

    Hello, you seem to have overlooked the Heritage Edition 300C's. I'm not sure about the other years production numbers, however, there were only 1164 of them produced in 2009.
    I recently (5-28-24) flew from Detroit to Chicago to purchase and drive back home a 2009 Dark Titanium Metallic Clear Coat 300C Heritage Edition 5.7L Hemi MDS VCT (EZH engine code - (from the build sheet)). Upon researching this code I found that it is said to have 375hp. It was a 1 owner car, and only had 53K on the odometer, and a clean CarFax report. I'm not sure if all of the H E's had a different hp Hemi from the rest of the pack like mine does. That would also require a bunch of research. I haven't done a 0-60 time in it just yet. It will happen... just not sure when... I'll get back to you with the numbers when I get that done.
    This was a very well and I'm sure very time consuming, put together video and I enjoyed watching it. Sub and Like from me.. Thank you for taking the time to put it together for our enjoyment. Dan

    looks like the SRTs get a bit into the RPM redline, where the 5.7 doesnt.., also the newer eagle hemis are 30 pounds heavier. and the 6.1 even heavier,, the pre eagle 5.7 is the best bang for the buck..

    @6:33 There's now way that 300 is that slow with the 3.6L . My old skool 2002 Chrysler 300M special 0-60 times are 7.1 to 7.2 seconds and that's with the 3.5L FWD 4 speed transmission .

    • @MarspeedCars
      @MarspeedCars  Před 9 měsíci +2

      The 3.6 only added 42 HP and 10 lb-ft of torque, plus probably more weight than the 300M. not the biggest improvement, mostly was improved for fuel economy. Not even run is ideal (coulda been hot weather, engine warmer, not 100% full throttle, incline, who knows). I have a 3.5L charger and have driven plenty of 3.6L chargers and they are probably a good second faster but that’s it, not a crazy pull like the Hemis

      The 6.4 smoke the 6.1 over 100 MPH don't care what you all wanna bullshit.
      Several reasons. For one the 8 speed is geared really close which results in obliterating the tires off the line without experience. The 6.1 with the 5 speed auto can infact at times be Flat footed at the drag strip many many times without even a squeak. These cars are over 4400 lbs with a driver.

    • @damontroch4765
      @damontroch4765 Před 9 měsíci

      And the RT with 370 HP 5.7 is still slower than a 6.1 . These are not high RPM engines. Their power band in midrange the 8 speed auto isn't that much of an advantage until you are over 100 MPH. The 3.6 Benifits more from the 8 speed considering all its torque and HP is over 4500 RPMs.

    As far as i know the 2019~21 6.4 powered cars actually have 500~510hp but Chrysler is being conservative about it...
    Is there some truth to that statement? I mean, my 2012 Charger did roughly 477hp back when it was stock...

    • @MarspeedCars
      @MarspeedCars  Před 9 měsíci +2

      Can’t say for sure. Chrysler has typically been more conservative with the V8 power numbers (not sure why this helps them?), but have heard some 6.1 guys getting enough power on the dyno to suggest 440+, so same could apply here. Going to the dyno and seeing numbers to the wheel on a few stock 6.4s and accounting for an 18-20% drivetrain loss would reveal the truth! 😂

      They do it to fool Insurance companies. Its pretty simple. You started getting into 500 HP Customers may not be able to afford the car payment and the inflated insurance.
      These cars are very affordable to a normal average joe.
      So the argument of if you can afford one of these you can afford the insurance goes out the window. These aren't $200K Ferraris they are under $60k all day long.

      The more obtainable the car the more you can sell. And In America Insurance is a deal breaker on many many cars.
      Especially when there are tons of factors with these cars. Like how common these are stolen as well.

    • @crazyone3494
      @crazyone3494 Před 9 měsíci

      @@damontroch4765 I see, thanks bro, i did know that insurance was a big problem back in the late 60s and it was the very reson that the 428 Cobra Jet was officially rated at 335hp when it actully did 400hp and the same reson why Chrysler saying that the 426 street hemi had 425hp(it actually did 450hp) was a bold and dengerous move.
      Still, it is all a bit alian for me since i live in Brazil and in here insurance is optional while any car remotely sportive is overpriced so insurance is the least problematic thing to worry about...
