- In this amazing episode i will show you a simple way to charge the hybrid modules.
just make shure to know that this is no the proper way to do it ok 👊😎... remember that this is only applies if you don't have a charger.
enjoy.

Pure Tesla or Edisonian reasoning. Caribbean "situational mechanics" at its finest! Genius! Earned a sub from this viewer!
“This is not the preferred way to do this”. Jose my grandfathers Chevy in Cuba had a Russia fuel pump and a German master cylinder. What I am trying to say is. It doesn’t matter how you get it done as long as you get it done. Cubanos always find away. Keep up the good work.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Love how you keep it simple
Love these series of classes, really learned a lot on how to perform these procedures safely & professionally👍😉
Thanks for sharing Bro, Stay Safe👍
Based on this video. I would NEVER bring my batteries to this guy!
Very smart 🤣🤣🪫🪫💩💩
This works just fine. Just don't keep it hooked up too long. I have charged up to 10 at a time. It really suck the 12 volt battery down so I keep a charger attached.
I am doing this right now - my 12 v batt was at 9.6 volts and I attached a charger to it, then I was like hum... should I have that charger attached to the batts too or not - see, when these batt are in the car, they are charged up to 17.8or so volts - so, if you do charge it increments, it will be fine - right now the 28 modules I have are at avg. of 7.54 - I want to bring them up to 8 volts before putting it back in the car - ANY suggestions?
You are the best..i am able to change my hybrid battery by myself..thanks to you💕
Glad to help my brother 🫡✅ don’t forget to share 🫡✅🫡✅
You are awesome 😎 teacher I learn a lot from you 👏👏🙏
I like your classes keep up the great work
This is so clear and thoroughly explained thank you man
👍👍 Excellent material!
Thank you!

Can you sell me 5 good batteries for my Toyota Aqua
Great job thank you. Easy peazy.
So im hoping to see how you do a load and unload after the charge.. can you also show your machine (balancer). In detail.. like what kind a metal and how you made it from the bottom up. Please 😊 thank you for your videos. Very helpful.
as we can see the bottom is wood. Two rails of aluminum also screws big enough to hold the modules without moving. Hope this help.

I learned about this and batteries in school but the follow up and exposure is needed
Informative vedio
That’s very handy thanks for sharing it
Thank you bro from Afghanistan ❤🎉
Thanks for all of the great information you are sharing. I use your process to balance and Group charge my prius battery rebuilds.. ie connect all Negs and Pos.. to balance.. I use a hobby charger to charge the whole group.. I charge at .5 amp and up to 8.5 volts... the charger shuts off when the collective voltage is 8.5. Then I let it rest to balance. charge again.. repeat... This is what we can Top balancing... ??? My question to you is what could I use to discharge the 28 modules down to 6.3... let rest- balance..... discharge....... let rest - balance.. ie Bottom balancing. My ultimate goal is to be able charge/discharge 28 cells at a time... to recondition the individual cells in bulk. My current system only allows me to charge/discharge 4 at a time. How do I cycle (charge/discharge) 28 cell at one time.. To clarify... I understand balancing and bulk charging due to potential differential current... How can I charge and discharge 28 cells to attempt to recover Amp capacity.. Thank your for your time..
Good video bro. Continue to share knowledge on hybrid
thanks for your knowledge
Hi , thanks for all your video , definitely you are a great help .
Question if i don’t have the tool to balance the cells , can i charge them directly one by one fron the 12v battery?
Thank you so much amigo👍👍👏👏, u remind me of nacho libre. My favorite movie

Your all video class is so much interested from Bangladesh
What setting would I use to charge the module packs with my EV PEAK CQ3 while on the balancer?
Thank you for the classes teacher
very informative
Thanks for a good video it help a lot.
I’m very glad it helped 🫡✅
What about using a 12V (output) electrical charger that has an automatic current controller..? It even totally disconnects when the battery module is fully charged, indicating FULL. I would like to know your thought. Thanks
Sir, your explanation in Toyota Prius Hybrid batteries and methods you use to rectify faults are marvelous. I followed your methods and learned a lot.
I have a 2009 Prius and it gives an alarm after several minutes when started the vehicle. But the vehicle runs with less AC. Once you stop the vehicle can’t start again. If you remove the small battery terminal and after few minutes when you fit the terminal back you can start the vehicle.
I checked up with a scanner then you get a fault called “P0AA6” hybrid battery voltage system isolation fault.
I noticed when I remove the batteries some of them had leaked. I replaced them with fairly good ones. But still I got the same alarm again. Could you please help me to rectify this problem.
Hope you would reply soon.
I'm facing exactly the same problem now. Have you managed to fix it?
In that way, of connecting and disconnecting the source power faster you become an switching mode power supply! Same principle and you do the control flyback yourself! 👍
Except, no flyback here. Just, switch.
i love your explanation :) and your facial expression too :)
Great discovery. Will try to use
Jejeje not a discovery (i wish) ... but it's just about potential difference 👋😎

You talk a lot dude which explains everything very well beautifully explained
Was that an insult or a compliment? 🤔🤣🤔🤣🤔🤣🤔🤣🤔🤣🤔🤣🤔
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics its was a heartfelt compliment because i tried your technique and it did work. Another compliment...thank for so much for sharing your knowledge with us
Thanks brother
After full charge do I need to discharge again and charge them again sir?
Great video! I have a 2013 ES300 Hybrid. it was parket for months and now it will not crank. Do yu know how to charge the hybrid system using a regular 12 v battery charger if possible?
Bravo por el trabajo que haces, gracias. Veo que en tu uniforme de trabajo pone tu nombre JOSE HERRERA. Nombre y apellido son de origen español.
Yes, the teacher speaks spanish...
Thank you Jose for this amaizing way for fast charging..what about discharging is there any easy way...
8 volt batteries are available for antique vehicles of 6 volt systems. The 8 volt battery is used to improve starting and of course daily use. This is normal to use an 8 volt battery on old cars.
Would it be better to balance first, then load them using the battery?
Can i charge the modules in the pack? Like put 10 in a row in the prius bsttery case? I do not have a balancer like that.
🙋♂️ sir i have a question..which is any possibility to create a plug in system for 2nd gen or increas ev mode range?
So what charger would you recommend to use?
I'm sure you get this all the time, but is it possible to charge the HV battery on a gen 2 Prius whilst the battery is still in the car?
Mine is at a useless repair shop as the cat was stolen and the engine won't start after cat replacement. They "accidentally" drove it into the shop from the parking lot on EV mode and drained the HV battery, so I'm guessing I'm hosed since the HV pack gives power to MG1 to start the engine? The issue could be somewhere else too as the car stood for a year after the cat was stolen (2 times in a row).
I'm pretty desperate here...sorry.
Jose is top man.
Sir i want to know what is the proper current and voltage to charge my 28p 3s hybrid battry pack. Hope more video comes related to charging.thank you.keep it up.nice work.
Love you man
Very interesting
How did you build the battery holder? Anything special?
Thanks again.
smart brave guy.
Hello and thank you.
I like this emergency method.
A question, please:
What is the maximum voltage for module when the battery is full?
Thank you for a great job.
Another subscriptor more.
Bye.
They can reach up to 8.5v... thank you for your support 👋😎👋😎
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics thank you very much.
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics Is this for Nickel and Lithium toyota ? or just for Nickel ?
very good video very very good
Hi there. Thanks for your videos. How about the capacity of the cells? Is it possible to recover capacity of them?
Not to bad modules…
So I did this, and plugged the safety switch with my charger still on. It blew the fuse/shorted the charger. I bought another charger, and now im not getting any voltage to the two wires. Before I was getting 278v. Is there a fuse connected to those wires, or did I mess the whole thing up?
Please make vedio about touring sport hybrid 2.0
How to change SoC for Toyota Hybrid from SoC 80% to 90%?
is interesting and something to learn, do you have cells for 2012 panamera hybrid 970, I like to use their own system to charge the battery any ideas, I'm planning in buying the Porsche charger for Panamera 2014 and the port charging and hook these up to the system, I'm kind of lost, where to begin.
Send me the cells photo via instagram DM... let me take a look 😎👍
Hi, Thank you for the video.I have a toyota prius 2010 and it gives me ( P0A80 ) and I did everything in the video and drove 350 miles. After this the code didn't go away. Could you help me, what else can I do?
waiting for the cell load test video, please!
Can you put a trickle charger on them?
I thought about splitting the hybrid battery pack into two batteries in series and then charging them with a 12v charger. If the battery is 7.5+7.5 to make a 15 volt battery, it would only charge if the 12v battery charger charges at 15 volts. Would it work if it charges at 14.5 volts tho?
my eyes literally widened seeing him connect the 12v. lol. could use a battery charger with a low amperage, to rebalance them low current.
I replaced 2 reconditioned ones but they were about 6 volts sitting in the garage for sometime.will they charge by itself while driving ? Or i have to take them out again and charge?i still get a check light .yes i did load test when i found the 2 bad ones
At 6v they are very bad... nominal it's over 7.2v
Awesome content!! Does this method apply to Lithium Ion batteries as Hyundai/ Kia use in their Hybrids?? Ty
No my you definitely should not do this with lithium batteries… it’s too much current flow..
Ok you're a life saver!! I'll go the other route and buy a charger... so how many amps should a dedicated lithium battery charger be at when charging? You're a great mentor and thank you for the quick reply.
What should be the operating voltage of each cell in the vehicle?
How many cycle do I need as minimum sir?
like you mention , how do you discharge them super fast, as you charge them super fast but how do you discharge them super fast ? thank you
No need to... the load test should not be fast discharge 🤣🤣
I have a question, if i charge like that do I need to discharge to make it work ???
Sir, I forgot to mention in my earlier comment that I cleaned all the terminal copper plates and wire cable terminals with alcoholic solution before reconnecting the batteries.
thx man, this great , pls in spanish too
How many batteries can you do at the same time?
Wow, in that case instead of 12 V car battery, can I use a very small and cheap 9 volts battery and just leave it for long time?
If I connect a 12v charger to the 12v battery on the car and open the switch will this fast charge hybrid system?
Is it possible to do that fast loading and unloading with a Lopo charger? in such a way as to help a full swing?
Not at all my friend... you will burn the module 👋😎👋😎
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics I appreciate your advice and the time you take to respond. you are a great master of hybrid cars.
Hi Hybrid Solutions. All my dash lights in 2007 Toyota Camry Hybrid are on (Triangle, ABS, Engine, Check Hybrid System, Check VSC system) with code POA1B, C1310, C1259. Do you think it is because the hybrid battery is weak? Is there anyway to just replace the bad cells in the battery? Thank you.
Do a complete health test and send it over to our instagram DM 👋😎
So, I have a question. If you have a 2 amp trickle charger for a 12v battery, and you were to put all your modules on a balancer made like yours, is there a reason why you can't add a resistor to the leads on the 12 v 2 amp charger that would bring your voltage down to 8.25V and then just hook up the trickle charger to your balancer rails so that it would trickle charge at 8.25 v at 2 amps? Then after charging for several hours or overnight, disconnect the charger and let them balance? P.S. thanks for the videos, i've been watching a few as I am trying to learn about working on a prius. Sort of trying to teach an old dog new tricks (me being the old dog)
A secondary question that has come to mind, and I was wondering if you might be able to answer it. In a prius group I joined there are always the posts arising about the 12 v battery being weak and causing issues with the voltage being too low and causing error codes to pop up. It has been said that the 12 v battery doesn't crank the engine for starting it. If that is the case, why didn't the manufacturer just feed the 12 volt side off the high voltage battery using two battery leads with resistors in them that would drop the voltage to 13.5 volts to feed the low side of the car? Or is that a safety issue and is that why they use the 12 v battery separately to feed the low volt side?
Overcharhing these modules for long time will damage them... it is why the charger should deliver not more than .2 to .4 amps in pulses...
@@Cometchannel-ou9ih it is the HV battery who cranks the engine via MG1... but to activate the HV system you need a 12v contactors to close the HV circuit so if 12v battery fails there will be no HV system to start the engine 👋😎👋😎
Wich machine I can use to teste hybride battery pack damage?
I have hoppy chargers about to do the discharge charge with 2 hobby charges 4 channels each. I also have a noco 12volt charger. My question is if I hook up negative to negative and possitive to positive. Can I charge all at the same time with the 12 bolt charger or the hobby charger.
I was wondering the same thing.
I don't see how not..
..I even considering not putting them all apart but charging in the pack. It's already set up to get charged.
I got hundreds of what I think is v1.5
What can I do with them?
Voltage from less than 1v to 7v
Thx
Hello Hybrid solutions. Do you think a charging socket could be fitted to a Hybrid car to charge the High Voltage Battery while parked overnight at home?
I believe the High voltage battery in a Hybrid would probably be a stack of these 8.5 volt battery packs in series. So I guess about 24 of them in series giving a total of about 204 volts.
Is there a charger that could be connected to the car to charge the High voltage battery. I am hoping that would give enough short range use to get to work and back and possibly not use any gas.
Thanks Brian in New Zealand
Hi brian 👋😎... yes you can... but you will have to tell me which car it would be for because many factors will depend...
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics hi! I had a similar idea as brian in mind thus I found your video.
I consider sticking a flexible solar panel onto a 2015 Yaris 1.5 Hybrid. What kind of charger would I need between the panel and battery?
Thanks a lot.
If you're using a 12-volt battery to charge the group of 8 to 10 modules couldn't you use the same balancer and hook up A two amp trickle charger to the rack and slow charge Your group and then use like a headlight bulb and connect that with alligator clips to the rack to discharge the group and then repeat the process three times
Hey man I can’t find a 12 volt battery for my Toyota Axio can u help me out

I'm enjoying the classes, keep up the good work, have you ever done a video on load testing the modules? I wanted tk know what's normal voltage under load and how long should I leave the load on ? Thanks in advance.
That video is coming very soon 👋😎
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics when!! Its been a month lol i’ve been searching for that part after the quick charging on your machine video 🤪
@@sweetbaby96 gloriaaaaaaa what part? ☝️😮😮🤣🤭🤣🤭🤣🤭🤣🤭
I did my load testing using a 6/12 volt load tester for cars. I found that putting a 20 second load on a fully charged cell will pretty well weed out the weak ones. If the voltage under load dropped to below 6.1 the module was suspect.
@@hybridsolutiondiagnostics AHHH yay you answered..lol umm I was waiting on the 3rd master class to this. I thinking what comes next from this video? the load test and the discharging with the same idea of having some limited instruments to work with on the batteries from home. And what do you think of the Smart-tech SBC-50 Battery charger instead of the 12v battery and what do you think of the SkyRC max B6 AC V2 battery Charger/discharger? How would you use it or would you recommend it? And would you use Cen-Tech for load testing?? And how would you use it?
Thank you for your videos by the way..I love your silliness with the expertise behind it.
Can I connected all 20 modules together and then use your technic

You can do this with any number of cells as long as they are in parallel. Just be careful and take your time.
