for me, the collar actually helps with comfort, because my heel shape grips the seem on the back of the mercs so much that it causes small wounds. The superflys cover this seem with a rubbery material so I dont have the same issue with them. That was the case with my phantom gts as well so I guess in some cases the 25$ extra isnt that unnessesary. Anyways really good video keep it up
one reason I've loved the collar on boots is because I have an extremely skinny back part of my foot, the Achilles tendon area, and even in normal shoes my heel slides around a bit. so the color really helps with actually locking my foot in which makes it way more comfortable, it is a little excessive but I like how it feels, I've also noticed that the slight width increase in the boots has made them, for me at least, a little less secure since I have extremely slim feet
I have the blue ankle sleeved superfly 8 and I gotta say they’re the most comfortable boot I’ve ever owned, I don’t see myself having to buy a different kind of boot for a while. I play every Wednesday and Sunday and my old predators always gave me blisters or some sort of toe pain. With these I even drove home in them by mistake because I forgot I was wearing them
I miss the Hypervenom line. The new modification line can't replace the hypervenom.
I think that the collar actually makes the boots feel more secure on your feet
Ye but 20 extra dollars or GBP isn't rly worth it now is it. But still Ur point is valid and as a GK the superflys have been nothing but security and reliability on my foot (and ankle).
I have the black and gold elites and they are so comfortable and hug your feet so well. Definetely recommend you go for the superfly 8 for comfort alone. They are tight from the box. But having laces to really hug your foot makes such a big difference
Just bought my first pair of top ends (superfly 8 elite) and there's really no better feeling.
I did a review on mine and tbh all it does is stop ankle movement and for some it's good but for others it's no real big difference. Check out my review.
Bought my first elite yesterday phantom gt 2 and theres definitely nothing better than wearing elite, the amount of confidence you get as soon as you put them on
Once you try high end boots, it’s hard to go back to take downs. Especially the 3rd tier ones which most people settle for.

I’ve got both the superfly elite 8 dream speed 5’s and the superfly elite 8 blue and orange and they are both so 🔥 I absolutely love them, comfy as hell
I actually prefer the collar bc it feel a bit lose in the opening and easier to put on bc my vapor 14 are alittle tighter in the opening
Bought Superly 8 Elite and those were actually really bad. My true size was too small, and a bigger one was too big. In terms of general comfort it was literally miles behind the Magista Obra 2 which I owned and loved for the last years.I thought that maybe I would give a chance to Superflies, but the fit and comfort really disappointed me. There is actually no boot from Nike that filled the Magista void. Phantoms don't provide that feeling for me. I finally decided to switch to Speedflow X, even though speed boots aren't my thing. Colourways of adidas cleats aren't my thing neither, but the comfort and fit in Speedflow is next level comparing it to Nike models.
Worst pair of boots i've ever had
Yeah I’m not too keen on them, bought a pair and have only had discomfort since December. Blister galore and almost too big when I went true to size. Luckily I bought puma futures and they’re brilliant
Sizing is off for me too. Either too big or too small.
@@kenjohn12 I found that for Nike I just deal with them being small for a week or so and then they settle in. I purchased a cheaper nike cleat last year and after that initial period of ngl a lot of pain, they fit and worked very well

I really don’t understand not playing with these on turf. A lot of turfs are meant for regular studs, I get natural grass is better but it’s not that big of an issue
These are by far the nicest looking boots IMO. This model in general pretty much. Not just this year's lol. Makes me wish I played so I could justify buying a pair 😂

I got these and they were very comfortable but the collar caused so many blisters and it made them impossible to wear
Something that doesn’t get mentioned is the superfly is far better for artificial grass over the Vapor as that collar keeps most of those black rubber balls out. My Vapor’s had to be cleaned out regularly and our house was always full of them. With superflys this problem has gone.

I was going to buy the Superfly Elite but I play on Artificial Grass. I couldn't find the AG studs and didn't want to use the turf rubber studs and so I was going to go for the FG studs; BUT the studs on the elite and pro looked WAY too aggressive for AG and apparently you can twist your whole ankle around by wearing the agressive FG studs. So at the end I had to go for the Academy level which were the cheap materials but the stud pattern looked way safer with some similarities to the AG studs. Kinda gutted, couldve went for the top end level :(

The stud on the inside of near the ball stick up on the FG version and cause irritation and blisters. I agree with the other comments that the Magistas were better. The Merc 7s SG are also better.
Although I will still keep my 6 original pure socks in rotation cause I love them these pro versions are even better. The new laces seem to be the same as my original sr4us both great! Glad to finally have a local quality product. Super fast shipping

Don't bother, Spent £230 on the most uncomfortable pair of boots ever, i have to use physio tape to tape my feet up just so they don't rip the skin off my feet, even with wear it doesn't ease. this collar at the back also rubs the back of your foot to death with the rubber lining at the back. it costs me £5 in blister plasters and tape each time i wear them. They stain really easy and impossible to get clean once muddy. They're insanely light and look cool as fuck but honestly not worth it considering they'll last around a year

Curious to know when Nike started to outsource manufacturing outside Italy for their mercurial line. They're still charging a premium despite being made in area's of the world where exploitation is rampant, and quality is worse....

Hey Josh I have 130 to spend on a boot. Which should I buy? I’m kind of leaning towards leather but I don’t really know which to get.
If you want a leather boot get the Tiempo Legend 9 Pro best leather boot for the price, if you want a speed boot get the puma ultra 2.4
If you can afford it get the adidas speedflow x.1 ...best boot I have ever used
If you wanna spice it up try the New Balance Furon V6+ Pro, they have them in both leather and synthetic. I wore them this past fall season, playing at collegiate level, and enjoyed them. I wore them everyday, training and games, from august to beginning of November and they held up pretty well.
(Edit) price point, you can find them on sale on a couple soccer websites, don’t buy directly from new balance though, they never bring the price down.

I bought a mercurial vapor 14 pro a couple months ago and I never really had better boots. If you take an older colorway, maybe the blue ones from the euros, you can get them under 115$

Pro honestly ain’t that bad compared to the top end model. The only reason why I personally don’t go academy myself is because of the durability and comfort. On the other hand, elite standing at the top doesn’t ALWAYS mean it’s the best one in terms of comfort and everything, sometimes the pros could be the better choice for the price.

The new mercs are bad I got a pair of the World Cup boots back in the summer and I got them in my size (11) and they was a whole size bigger so I then bought the new dark blue one in a size 10 and they are far too tight mercurials have gone so bad man

I think a tad longer in the back, but I didn’t notice much difference on the fronts on my pair

puma ultra 2.3 is better choice. The boot is pretty much a high end boot.
It’s not even close. The Ultra 2.3 is a much better football boot.
