Many too many is a song that turn me back in to a year so difficult to me with my mother , and so coincidently I had only the album AND THEN ... This is the most beautifully crafted short song from the classic Genesis era. It's not surprising that Tony Banks said that he really wanted to play either this song or Many Too Many on the Genesis tour a couple of years ago. Instead, they chose Ripples, which ain't bad either.

raelraven2, I agree with you that this song is beautifully crafted, and would love to have heard Genesis play this during their 2007 Tour. Fast forward 10 years now, and this song has even more significance for me. You see, I met someone very special 10 years ago, on this exact same date, August 22, 2009. Each year on this date, I like to come back and visit this video posting, and remember how it all started. It started right here. To my dearest friend, raelraven2 - thank you for being my friend, and thank you for all of the memories :) Love your Ripplesbluegirl

Wow, what a nice surprise to find this video of Steve Hackett performing what was quite possibly his best Genesis-era composition! This is a well-done rendition. Hackett and the band are right on top of it. The drummer does a find job, but his voice is not in the same league as Phil Collins, but of course, not many are! Thanks for posting. The first, only, and best non-Genesis rendition. You Tube is such a treat.

I agree completely. People are always talking about either the Gabriels- or the Collins-era of the band. But for me the real Genesis started when Hackett arrived for Nursery Cryme, and ended after the Wind And Wuthering album, when he quit the band (although I do enjoy parts of ...And Then There Were Three...). Blood On The Rooftops is my alltime favourtie song, of any artist. A great accoustic intro, great singing by Collins, and the mood set by Banks/Rutherford is simply amazing.
