    You are a genius. Talking more then 7 minutes about costs without saying any single price/number/figure. Respect!!!! 😀

    This makes sense why CT is more expensive, smallest land area but more ppl compared all the other cities except JHB.

    The housing in Cape Town is extremely expensive. A two-bed-roomed house with 1 bathroom, tiny kitchen and small lounge costs anything from R1,5m in the Northern suburbs, if you are lucky

      You’re not wrong. Have family in Joberg and chalk and cheese with what you get here versus there.
      However, there are still areas that are more affordable.

      It's amazing to me to read that R1,5m for a two bedroom is considered expensive in a major city.. There are plenty of cities worldwide that this same house would be north of 5 million rand.

    • @HeleenHenstock
      @HeleenHenstock Před rokem +2

      @Comrade, a repayment on a R1.5m bond is about R15 000 per month. That is almost half the income of an average family, not counting rates and property taxes and utilities like water and electricity. If homes in cities in South Africa would cost R5m, our cities would be empty.

      @@HeleenHenstock Agreed, SA doesn't have the middle class to support such expensive housing.

    You need to add figures, numbers, and examples to compare. Not everyone here can gauge if you compare it to somewhere else in SA

    Wonder why rates and taxes are cheaper in Cape Town vs JHB, Dbn, PTA.

      I would suspect that this has come about over years of more efficient delivery and better management of projects to budget and completion than those cities. There is probably a compounding effect here.
