    My 4 BEST Fidelity Index Funds:
    Important Note - Some of these index funds contain overlap as discussed in the video. On behalf of this, remember diversifying your portfolio is key and that an optimal portfolio needs much more than just these 4 funds. Proper allocation of these funds is mandatory and further investments much be taken to improve your portfolios diversification/risk exposure.
    1. Fidelity 500 Index Fund (FXAIX)
    The Fidelity 500 tracks the S&P 500 Index fund which seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the performance of 500 of the largest publicly traded companies listed on the U.S. stock exchanges. This fund covers roughly 80% of the entire U.S. stock market.
    2. Fidelity Total Market Index Fund (FSKAX)
    The Fidelity total market index fund tracks the Dow Jones U.S. total stock market index which means the fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of a broad range of US stocks including small, mid, and large cap companies.
    3. Fidelity Total International Index Fund (FTIHX)
    The Fidelity total international index fund tracks the MSCI all country world index which means this international fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return of foreign developed and emerging markets.
    4. Fidelity U.S. Bond Index Fund (FXNAX)
    The Fidelity U.S. bond index fund seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the performance of the Bloomberg U.S. Aggregate Bond Index.

    • @Eddy-ov4tx
      @Eddy-ov4tx Před 6 měsíci

      @@smittyb9418 Honestly, just look at the past performance of S&P 500 over the last 30 years which is about 9.8%, the track record shows , even if he kept all his eggs in that basket, likelihood of him doing fine is very high considering it's the top 500 companies in the U.S. - This is factoring terrible financial times such as 2008 financial crises.
      Also, if for whatever reason the S&P 500 somehow crashes and is down -30% / 50% over the next 5-10 years; we have FAR bigger problems globally/economically speaking..... In this case, Gold , maybe Bitcoin might be a better hedge bet IMO because those tend to go up when the shit hits the fan. Especially gold. Bonds also a safe bet too, just too boring and too low reward. I'll put it this way, it's also a good hedge to keep some cash reserves on the sidelines , JUST IN CASE , the shit does hit the fan - you buy on those major dips of 20%/30% drops or buy Real Estate when home prices tank again.

      Hey great question! I personally don't have many because of my age and risk tolerance. The biggest purpose of bonds is to diversify a portfolio and reduce the risk of losing money. This is beneficial for those that are near or at retirement that can't afford to lose money but can also at least have some income over time from it. Hope this helps! :)

    I am curious. My son is 23 and has 43K so far. He wants to be aggressive so 70% in the Domestic. My question is the $$ difference instead of placing between bonds and International, can he put in a High Yield savings account? Since their interest rate is above 5%.
    Does that make sense? Or do you still suggest distributing between domestic, bonds and International?
    Thanks

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před 10 měsíci

      Hey so I obviously can’t tell you what to do. But a high yield savings account is currently a great choice. Money market funds are as well and they are both super liquid to change. Be aware those rates will more than likely go down in a few years. But this video is more of a guide and although I personally diversify among all, it’s whatever best fits your needs and wants.

    I believe Vanguard funds are better than Fidelity as I believe they have lower expense ratios. I love VGT. Tech and computers has been the way to go since 1988 and I believe it will continue that way. Then invest in the two best companies in each sector of the economy and hold. You have to decide which 2 are best? Like Exxon Mobil and Chevron in oil. UNH and Cigna in health insurance. Buffet has not gotten rich in index funds sorry. Companies! Solid companies over time. Cheers😊😊😊!😊

      Great points. Very similar to how I manage my own portfolio. I also agree with the Vanguard ETFs as I use them. Solid companies over time, Buffett was a genius at finding them, allowing him to not need 90% S&P. He states that to majority of people that don't know or do what he does! Thanks for the comment, great stuff!

      Count up what you spend every month on bills. Then save up about 6 months of that and put it in a high yield savings that collects around 5% right now. Then put 100% of whatever extra money you have into an index fund that tracks the market. Preferably put it into a Roth IRA until you max your limit first.

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před rokem +3

      You may have your SPAXX account as your core position. If that is the case, you will be purchasing directly from the SPAXX. My next video is actually going to cover this and will be posted in the next day or two!

      @@DannySully My account says I have money that's settled and ready to trade which works fine to purchase stock. Now in my SPAXX account when I click on it, it brings up a trade ticket but any selection I choose it brings up an error not allowing me to trade the money that's in it. So I'm hoping your video will help me! Thanks

      is your SPAXX considered your core position? What is your core position? If you purchased separately I could see how that would be then. And yes I hope the video helps, I just posted it. But unfortunately have never seen this error issue, my apologies.

      For weeks my account would show my $10k stock that I have purchased and holding, $38 in settled cash/ready to trade which shows up when I pull up a trade ticket and then in SPAXX it has $381. Today I looked and it shows everything the same except know it shows $38 in settled cash/ready to trade and SPAXX has $38 in it. What happened to the $381 that was in the SPAXX account last week?

    You recommend FTIHX. What is the difference between that and FSPSX? It seems both are classified as total International Index fund… confused? Thanks

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před rokem +2

      Hey I apologize for the late response, the biggest difference between the two is that FTIHX includes emerging markets where FSPSX does not. Both are international but FTIHX has more holdings and overall diversity than FSPSX.

    So it doesnt make sense to hold both fxaix and fskax?

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před 5 měsíci

      It’s a personal decision but to me it doesn’t unless one knows what they’re doing. One could get a total stock market index fund like VOO or FSKAX. Or one could get a small, mid, and large cap index fund separately. Vanguard etfs would be VB VO VOO

      @@DannySully ah ok, i ended up doing 75% fxaix and i think the other 25% will be split between small caps or mid caps but i cant decide

      For that 25%, you could use FSMAX.
      Seeks to provide investment results that correspond to the total return stocks of mid- to small-capitalization United States companies.

    So i called fidelity they told me to invest in fffhx, with my roth ira, but i cant find any thing on it, but i see FXAIX all over , what is the difference between fffhx and FXAIX, and for starting your roth ira which one is smarter 🤔, seems like FXAIX is the smart move

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před 6 měsíci

      I use FXAIX, but that is a personal choice and I can't tell you what to do! I definitely would say to research and compare the differences between them and stick to what you prefer.

      @DannysMoneyTalk I did more diving it's a target retirement fund, the return is less then FXAIX but another youtuber said those target funds are trash because it's bond heavy, and reduces your gains being so bond % heavy, but I'm 35 ill have placed 13 grand by now and end of 2924, so I'll get a decent compound interest from with the 1st yr, so I think FXAIX might be my choice aswell

    What about FBND?

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Easier to buy and sell as it's an ETF. I would recommend looking at historical returns and see the performance and other indicators like what holdings they invest most in to make a wiser decision. For taxable accounts, a bond fund that is an ETF would be better for tax purposes as well. Thanks for your input!

    • @DannySully
      @DannySully  Před 3 měsíci +1

      FXNAX is just an easier approach for someone keeping funds within an investment portfolio for tracking purposes. Personally, if I were to get involved with bonds I would prefer Treasuries or CDs fixed long term, etc. For the decision in today's market, I would say it depends on where you want the funds. Emergency fund = HYSA. Soon to be investments or preferred allocation in an investment portfolio long term = Bond Fund. Hope this helps! Definitely more to this as well. FXNAX current yield is 4.55%, close to many HYSA but many others can get 5%+ as well. Same with other fixed income opportunities.

      No those in other countries can purchase them. If they are unable to use a company like Fidelity, then joining a different company and getting ETFs would be a good option.
