I love the fact that this Bard actually married the girl he was dating at 15, and was pleasantly surprised to discover that his mom isn't above giving him a little jab.
HE MARRIED HIS HIGH SCHOOL SWEETHEART DO YOU UNDERSTAND HOW ADORABLE THAT IS
RIGHT??? They were only 15 and now they're married and have kids ! :'D I want that too, unfortunately I'm not 15 anymore x)
+Shin Gochu I thought they were not married. In an interview he said he does not want to get married.Does anyone know?
+soonsims They got married 2-3 years ago only
I knooooow
What an adorable scene to watch they talking to their mum! Mama Ylvis is awsome. No wonder she has such great sons!
I love the way Vegard snickers at 0:54 when revealing that he has their mother on air :)
This is the reason why I love Norwegians
I love seeing the sweet almost embarrassment Bard has when he first starts to tell his mom about his driving antics. It's so pleasing and dear to hear him call his parents mama & papa. I am such a big fan of Bard and Vegard.
Well it's like in Swedish; "mama & papa" - mamma & pappa is the real word for it. :)
You do say mamma and pappa Its not a Word you made up Its what you say today.
Well you can also say mor & far but Thats old swedish
In USA we say mommy, mom or mama We use daddy, dad, father for papa. Sometimes papa in USA is word for Grandfather.
Ok, to our maternal grandma in swedish we say mormor and our paternam grandma we say farmor. Our maternal grandfather we say morfar and our paternal grandfather we say farfar.
Oh my gosh their Mom sounds like such a SWEETHEART! It's no wonder those two guys are so great! I love her voice at 1:17 when she says 'Hi Bard, how are you doing?' You can so clearly hear the deep affection in her voice. Lovely
Their mother is also funny and cool! I think it´s really cute that he is still with the same girl he used to drive home when he was 15.
That's correct! :) They normally use the dialect from Bergen, but when talking to their parents they switch over to the dialect from Sogn (which is where their parents are from). It's not uncommon to do that, but it takes some skill to switch between them as fluently as they do. Fun fact: In a few interviews/clips from their early career you can actually hear remnants of the Sogn dialect in the way they speak, though the dialect they use (at least publicly) now is a fairly "pure" Bergen dialect.
that means he has been with his wife for over 15 years! impressive. wish i had something like that
+2007words impressive to be with ur wife for over 15 yrs? haha. good one!
+plomben at 31? definitely yes!
They are so cute!
We have that show translated on our channel as well :)
Thanks so much for uploading this! Its another great one :D
Thank you for all english subtitles 💐🌹🥀
Such good revenge for the terrible confession Bård forced Vegard to make... I felt so bad for him!
Which confession? Where can I find that video? :)
lisz014 The clip is called "Vegard Ylvisåker on Tørnquist Show 18.9.13 Bård made Vegard cry... it all starts around 15:51
Thank you very much :D
Å så akkurat at den ligger jo faktisk der!!:)) tusen takk og supert at de blir tekstet! Sikkert mye jobb!
This is such a cute video! Thanks for the subs!! They got their humor from their mom! It's so lovely to see this cute family! And Bård got married?! Since when? Thought it was his long time partner, but good for them, gotten it official since now he is famous worldwide and before any crazy girl fandom begs him to get married :p
Dere gjør en kjempefin jobb!! Tusen takk!!! Veldig gøy at flere enn oss som snakker norsk får muligheten til å forstå Ylvis! :)))
That is one cool mom. :D
American ladies will now have Norwegian fever.
Godt spørsmål!:))
There are subtitles! You need to click on the button on the left of the gear at the bottom of the screen
There so cute
*They're
bard looks genuinely nervous haha. thank you.
Thanks for the answer, I find these things so interesting, why people speak a certain dialect in a certain area and how trade with other regions has influenced that. I think the r-thing is called guttural-r in English btw. In your own language you recognize all the dialects, and know where they are from, but you dont reflect on the all the differences in other languages, you might hear that its something diffrent or that some people (like in Norges herligste) are harder to understand than others.
I thought Bård was not married! Awwww
There are subtitles in English.
Click on the symbol between the clock and the gear
I didn't so much hear the difference as I noticed Vegard's reaction to it.
bård is so adorable at 4:14
Yes they speak Bergen dialect normally but these guys can switch dialects in an amazing way! You can't even hear that they are from Bergen when they do an that is impressive because Bergen has a very different dialect. Specially pronouncing R. Both my parents come from different parts of the country, but I can't speak their dialect. At least not good ;-)
Dette var den videoen jeg ønsket meg mest!:)) Tusen takk!!:)) Har du mulighet for å laste opp den fra Tørquist også?? Hadde vært supert!!
Ylvis! Sogning!! :O
I don't care if they are married or not, they are still hot and adorable
with ya girl
He just meant he made something illegal, but that was not about taking drugs. He drove a car when he was 15, which is forbidden in Norway.
Os is a place.
Awww! Hahahaha
I live in Os :D
i love the way bard did at 1:13
@James Hama i never heard of you before
Hi
I can hear the differense :D
But it's logical, because I'm Norwegian too xD
I hope you put up Engish subtitles.
1:53 sleepovers ?At 15!?the fuck 😂😂😂
actually he stated in his recent interview in new york that he got married in new york last year.
i wanna see all their episodes! in english tho and i wanna follow their current ones as well... any links?? :)
Do those of you who don't speak Norwegian hear when the boys change their dialect? As a Norwegian that detail is probably my favorite thing about the video, and I'm really curious to know if the different dialects are distinguishable to foreigners' ears at all.
No I can't distinguish
I'm Swedish and yes it was a clear difference for me at least.
subtitles? where? :D
TIL OS????
Deres foreldre kommer fra Sogndal, langt inne i Sognefjorden, så det Ylviske familiespråket har åpenbart vært sogning. Sogning kommer høyt oppe på rankingen over dialekter andre skandinaver har problemer med å forstå.
Hi could you please provide with English subtitles. Thanks.
czcams.com/video/_6rc_4LbxwA/video.html
For de som vil høre brødrene snakke sogning. Dette er fra 2005,
If they hadn't pointed it out, I don't think I would have noticed.
Jag vill förstå den dialekt saken!! De pratar vanligtvis bergen-norska, men sedan byter dem till sogning (eller vad det heter).. kommer själv från Skåne, Sverige så förstår mer bergen-norska än olso-norska.. men vad är skillnaden på bergen- dialekten och sogne dialekten? Är det ungefär som en motsvarighet till lite grövre skånska? pratar själv skånska men finns ju fortfarande folk som pratar ännu grövre som folk i upplandet inte alls förstår.. :)
He's married.. They got married in New York a year ago
where is your channel? I thought this was your channel.
Question from German language geek: What happens after "Du skulle snakke Sogning"? Does he then, in fact, speak in his dialect? #ahhhthenumerousreasonstolikeylvis ;) Thanks!
He speaks two short sentences of Sogning. One after Vegard's introduction, the other after his mom's complaint. Otherwise: Bergen dialect.
Obviously Ylvis spoke their Sogn parents' dialect at home in Bergen. And the dialects along the mountainous Sognefjord... well... a German language geek will pick up Norwegian easily. If you expose him to Sogning, though - he'll probably find it easier to understand a guy from Stockholm. Or even a girl from Copenhagen...
Cecilie B Haha! Considering what I've heard from Swedish and Norwegian people about the Danish language, that's saying a lot. ;)
Thanks!
I can hear a difference between when Bård says "I am just going to tell you something" and "Because we did not get the permission for sleepovers." and when Vegard says "This week we´re going to get everything out of the closet" and the rest. Do they usually speak in the dialect from Bergen, and these parts are the dialect from Sogn? Their mother mentioned something about that,
(Btw I´m Swedish, so my ear may not me 'that' foreign...)
I have read that the older brother IS married. Vegard and is sweetheart have been together about 10 years but married two years ago.
I noticed something but not a big difference and it was probably because Vegard said they were going to change dialect
Dialects are really interesting think, I think. For example, I have always thought that Oslo was pronouced "Oschlo" in Norweigian, but Ylvis pronounce the same way we do, without the sch-sound, dont they? Is that a Bergen-thing or is it just people in Oslo that pronounce it "Oschlo"? And what dialect do they use in "Ylvis - Ny Kjæreste", is it a real dialect from some place or a one made up by old fashioned words etc?

if you are talking about bård he said that they god married in new york about a year ago...?
poeven yeah he married after 14 years with her 😂
in norway you have to be 18 to get a drivers license, but he stole the car when he was 15 , without his parent's knowing
Nope, if it wouldn't have been written in the subtitles I would've had no idea. But I don't speak norwegian and know just a few words so that probably explain why. (I'm french)
someone tell me how many dialects there are in Norway please
Nobody actually knows, as it's impossible to estimate. I would think somewhere between 700 and 800 or something, depending on the defention. But remeber those are just guesses, I don't know. However if you think that's a lot remember that some are more common than others depending on the size of the place the dialect is being spoken.
thankyou so much for replying :)
There are many hundreds, and the differences are huge! :)
Bård is married, he got married about 1 year ago.
No subtitles!!!??
you must press the subtitles button.
My mother tongue is Spanish and I can hear a tiny difference in the o's e's and consonants, but I cannot really tell...
Does anyone know the episode where bård's daughter reads from a book she's writing?
Season 1 ep 2. You'll find it on Vimeo if it's not on YT:)
1monire
I tried to find it on there. Do you know what the title is for it?
Ashfer2 Yes, search for I kveld med Ylvis or try the link: vimeo.com/funkenhauser/videos/page:3/sort:date. Unfortunately it's only the 1st season, which makes sense I guess, since funkenhauser only produced the 1st season;)
it's the girl in the video bard's daughter vimeo.com/32342723 ??? could someone tell me
ARSTHKAULITZ
I don't know about that but you can find the episode with his daughter here (pgm2 del1) vimeo.com/search?q=ikmy+2
Why does he change dialects; they do speak the Bergen dialect during their show normally, right? Are his parents from another part of Norway? Is it normal that people with parents from another part of the country can speak two dialects?
wat language are they talking in?
Norwegian
Is there a reason why Vegard addresses Bard's parents as "your parents" or is it just a subtitling error? Or is it a Norwegian thing?
No translation error, and it's not a Norwegian thing... Perhaps a Ylvis thing? :)
Yes, because he just found out he was adopted from Turkish silk traders.
I hear absolutely no difference :D (I'm from Belgium)
He didn't do anything different. He was suppose to but he didn't so you heard correct😘
Love from Norway
Yolvs the new guy GDS today but he was my boss and you guys are coming back and forth ❤ nveeah and then you boy the new one ❤😅😂🎉😂😂🎉
Vegard: PAYBACK xD
Are they brothers?
Yes, they are
Cewl.
A question for Norwegians: what does he say at 2:48? Is it "ikke mer" (not more)? I'm curious 'cause it sounds so funny to my ears, maybe because of their dialect? :) I know some Swedish and I'm just trying to learn to listen them.
A bit late, but you are correct miss ^^
He speaks with a dialect-he says “ikkje” not “ikke”. That is probably why it sounds “different”.
Bård has been with the same woman since he was 15? SWOON...
he is married, he got married last year...
What is O's? He mentions to his mother that he went to O's (I think that's right) and judging by her reaction, it didn't sound like somewhere he was supposed to go and made me curious.
a place in Norway.
It appears to be a mountain called Os.
In Norway you have to be 18 to be able to drive a car on your own legally, so the surprise for her was that her 15 year old son took their car and drove to a place (Os) which is a 45 minute drive each way.
"Fun" Fact: Os is also where Vegard was in the army when they came to pick him up with horse and pony.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Os,_Hordaland
Os is a place pretty far away from where he was living... When he was 15 ... Like many times
No subtitles :(
you need to put on the captions
Just out of the top of my head I think it's pronounced Oslo just in the parts of the country where they use the Danish/French/skånsk pronunciation of R (I have no idea what to call it). Pretty much the southern and half the western part of the country, but the rest says Oshlo - with the exception of some snobbish people in the western part of Oslo and Bærum.
I don't hear any differences at all :( I'm Singaporean, btw
Well, that explains it ;)
Rare taal zeg
OMG soooo cute!! but so sad i thought Bård was not married!!
And does anybody fine both brothers calling mama and papa cute? I find it damn adorable :D oh another doubt... When he meant sometimes he used the car when he was fifteen and everyone bursted laughing? What does he really mean? He use the car to drive or other 'things' as well? Hahah
I am from Scotland and honestly can't hear the slightest difference in their dialects!!!
Well, that's because some word are completely different in different dialects, but you would not notice that because you're Scottish..
Bard is so gorgeous....i wish he would have his tooth fixed....his smile is being affected by a missing tooth on the side. I love his smile otherwise! Vegard is also very cute! I love both these guys and hope to see them in a film one day. They are so talented and funny!
jeezz. really ? I hope he never fix his smile or tooth . its cute and it makes him human :-)
First, I have a space in the same place and it is NOT a missing tooth. Second, I think his smile is perfect the way it is.
Oh and if you haven't seen Tørnquist show with Vegar you should! What happend there is why Vegard is taking revenge on I kveld med Ylvis haha :))
sogning dialect? wtf
not at all :(
Bard’s MARRIED? 🙆🏻♂️ 🤦🏻♂️ 🤬 Excuse me while I go slam my car into a tree at 100 mph.
He is not married, but thinks of himself as married because they have been together for so long. They have three kids and live together so there is really no big difference.
