As Freddie said "ALRIGHT!" Glad to see you watched this awesome performance. Just so you know, it's rated as the best live rock performance ever, most agree, and you can see why. Also glad you listened to us and got some headphones. You'll hear things you wouldn't have otherwise. I've got one here to show you what I mean. You should react to it because it's another great Queen performance. It's got a pretty funky beat, I think you'll like it. But pay close attention to the end. It's a little part that was added on for some reason, it's the end of another song they did, but for some reason shows up here too. Anyway, they do an echo thing and you'll hear the music move from one ear to another. You'll hear it in other Queen videos too. Anyway, great reaction, enjoy! It's called Dragon Attack czcams.com/video/aWwS7pMyhCs/video.html

I know!! When I first saw this I was blown away how simple and plain the stage was. Just a white wall in the back with the Africa Logo. No fog, lasers, crazy lights...just good old fashioned organic awesome music and just a great performance and excellent showmanship. It's kind of like fixing an old car or truck. Just elbow grease and a monkey wrench is all you need and this band showed the world how it is. Great bands like this don't need any add ons. Just kicked ass and stole the show. Much respect. A+++++ P.S. the only extra stuff I noticed was the Pepsi cups and beer cups on the piano lol.

Queen only accepted the invitation to perform Live Aid bc the guy that orchestrated this from the Boomtown Rats had listed them as having already accepted playing. They finally accepted, and then backstage before this performance, the band was arguing bc they didn't think they'd be relevant in comparison to all the other more "current" singers from 1985. They thought no one would know/like them at that particular concert since they were popular 10 years prior. Then they came out, played a 21 minute set and stole Live Aid. That was the first time anyone had seen a performer command the audience to that level. When Radio Gaga played and the entire audience did the hand clap motions, it wasn't just the audience in Wimbly stadium. This was live broadcasted with another concert in Philadelphia (the biggest concert to date at that time as it was live streamed to a ton of countries and had 2 Live Aid concerts going on at the same time. Matter of fact, side note: Phil Collins played on the Wimbly stage and then got on a plane, flew to Philly and played onstage at Philly for the concert), and the entire audience in Philly did the hand clap motion and could be seen via big screen satellite. There were thousands of people who were doing the hand clap motions between the 2 concerts and everyone (including other artists) were in complete awe of the whole experience. It was overwhelming the amount of people who responded to Queen. Also, when Queen took the stage, that's when massive amounts of donations poured in for the cause.
This was monumental in music history.

@@TheWickedlu Aye, there's a reason this is considered the greatest performance in history, it's also funny when you think about all the greats before Queen, that the band considered their influences, how they all looked up to Queen also, also bands after, like metallica for instance, who were heavily influenced by a lot of songs from Queen, Queen 2 & Sheer Heart attack. basically without Queen, what we know as thrash metal, heavy metal and a lot of different sub-genre's of rock wouldn't exist today. I hope wherever Freddie is he knows how much he is still loved unconditionally today and how important all of them were in shaping the modern world of music. That's another reason amongst many others why they're widely considered one of, if not the greatest band in history :) and Freddie the greatest singer & performer. God I love that man for what he gave us

This might be the greatest half hour in rock and roll history. The entire performance was flawless, Freddie was in top form, and he was suffering from a vocal infection right beforehand. Most people who have seen the movie believe he had AIDS during this performance -- he may have already had HIV but he wasn't diagnosed with it for another 2-3 years and he didn't reveal to the world at large that he had AIDS for another 5-6 years. He made his announcement that he had AIDS in 1991 (this performance was 1985) and actually when he announced in 1991, he tragically died the next day. I think his Doctor basically told him he didn't have much longer which prompted the announcement. Anyway, it's just sad. Freddie was a legend even before he died, that we don't have him anymore is a tragedy. To my knowledge he had the greatest range of a male singer in rock history.

Their music reaches out to anyone irrespective of class, colour, creed, musical taste, etc... there is nobody like them on so many levels- showmanship, musical talent, diversity, courage in the face of adversity, subject matter, crowd interaction, songs... the list goes on and on... to the point that many of us could take them for granted. It is no wonder that their songs are still radio staples and have become musicals (which again is strange if you think about it- at the time of creation these songs didn't sound like pop materials in any way- that alone deserves a bow!).

Only two people have had a superior stage presence. Elvis was one. Freddie is the other and I think Freddie's was greater than the King's.

Garth Haycock now I don't completely agree, because there's more than them, like Stevie Nicks, Cher, and a COUPLE OTHERS. Other than that I agree! Even though I LOVE the other people I listed THEY CAN'T COMPETE WITH FREDDIE BECAUSE HE IRREPLACEABLE!

Hi Deon! I love your reaction, sweetie. That's exactly how I feel every time I watch that concert. That singular historical performance fired up the band and encouraged them to tour for a couple more years. The World We Created vignette at the end was so meaningful and beautiful. You are right, their music is timeless. Because it is so good. Look forward to more!!! Keep smiling!!

Freddie mercury ,how to own a stage and totally hold the crowd in the palm of his hand.1985 or 2019 ,there's nobody can touch this musical genius.Thank you for taking us for a trip down memory lane👍 Absolutely loved it .💞

I actually came across this video while watching someone else's reaction to a Queen song, since it really makes my day to see people experiencing either their music, performances or both for the first time, and it takes me back to my childhood. But your reaction to this performance in particular is probably one of my top five favorites. This has always been special to me, growing up as a huge fan of Queen, and this concert took place on my 10th birthday, so that was quite a treat, even if I couldn't physically be there. Thank you for doing a reaction video to this. It really made my day!

I waited all day back in 1985 for Queen to come on stage at Live Aid and they completely stole the show! I knew then it was a historic performance. I was lucky enough to see Queen at Knebworth in 1986, unbeknownst to me at the time, the last time Freddie performed live with the band. They were / are the best live band in history
