This is why this needs to continue. The history is fantastic and means something. Ed cannot be replaced, but this can work. Like I have said the Kayfabe family is deep. Kayfabe Forever!
Couldn’t agree more.✊🏽Kayfabe Forever!
RIP Ed. Comment if he and Jim got you drawing again. Thanks, Ed
Ye❤
Comment.
Didn’t get me back because I never truly stopped but man have I learned so much. Really got to look at techniques differently. Try different styles. So much great content.
They got me drawing again. Hard not to with Ed’s passion.
Yeah, made my first strip since I was a kid!
Man I’m gonna miss this when the back log is done. Thanks for sharing these Jim, we all know the score and love you mate. I’m a Kayfaber for life. R.I.P. Ed, we miss you man.
We appreciate you keeping this going, Jim. Big love to you, sir.
RIP Ed.
Please keep the channel alive even when the already recorded material is broadcasted. Do it in Ed's memory, no need to upload as frequent, but keep it on. Its important.
Rest in peace, Ed.
A beautifully flawed creature who graffitied the world with his art;
a human of contrasted features, who gave us more light than dark.
Jim our hearts go out to you. I truly hope you are doing ok through this. Ed passing has been so impactful on our family and I cant imagine what your experience must be like. Know that we are here for you and are keeping you in our thoughts. RIP Ed
It hurts every time, knowing you'll never hear is input on anything anymore, which was highly valuable, he had an eye for art and a talent for conveying why a particular piece worked or didn't.
RIP Ed
Thanks, Jim. I hope you're doing as well as can be expected.
Gonna get some drawing done today with Jim and Ed schooling me on comics along the way.
Best to all the Kayfabers out there ❤.
Wow, you fellas had so many extra episodes in the bag! Nice! RIP Ed, and full support for Jimmy!
Thank you, Jim. These videos are inspiring and priceless. I will never get tired of hearing you two geek out over comic art. RIP Ed.
Still my favorite CZcams channel! Not familiar with Reed Crandall so this episode was very enlightening for me. Thank you Jim for posting and thank you Jim and Ed for recording. Love this channel and I appreciate all you have done for comics and for your fans. Long live CK!
Oh man!! This is a special treat! Those who are interested Creepy Magazine #74 is a Reed Crandall Special.
I first discovered Crandall's art in King's Flash Gordon #6, and it was eye-opening for a kid who only knew superhero comics. The proportions were spot-on, and there was just enough rendering to get the job done. The shading was halfway between Herge and Franklin Booth--perfect.
It's helping so much having new and old videos to watch... keeping the joy of Comics Kayfabe alive
I was going to miss having a place for Ed and Comics Kayfabe carved out in everyday but am starting to accept that I can still do that, even if it's sometimes bitter sweet
Most of the time I forget for a while that Ed's not with us here anymore. Through what hebleft he still is.. ❤
Thanks Jim. Take care.
Another amazing episode from the vaults. Thank you, Jim.
Keep 'em coming! Thanks, Jim! (RIP Eddie P)
Cartoonist Kayfabe is the best podcast of all time
That blown up panel just screams Alfredo Alcala
thank you Jim
love you Ed !
Long live the Kayfabe Army! Join now!
Marching orders...Read More Comics! ❤
It's so relaxing to hear them talk. Thank you Ed, and Jim.
Some of the characters in that first Mother's Day strip and Carrion Death reminds me of John Ridgway. He is also great with lighting.
If you use a rake flat brush, you can get those consistent line marks on that dress. It’s part of what I use to ink when I do brush. I’ll work backwards where I do the big mark spot blacks first then work my way up to the smallest watercolor brush.
Tom Scioli needs to step in.
It's tough hearing Ed mention possible questions to ask in future interviews that will never happen.
Please carry on Jim even if its once in a blue moon I hope to hear your thoughts on obscure and esoteric comic art
Merci Jim.
Reste en paix Ed.
❤
Watching this channel forever❤
Wonderful! Thank You Jim!
Crandall, one of my all time favorites.
Love you guys. RIP
RIP Ed... So sad...
My regrets on losing Ed. I've learned a lot from you two. Reed Crandall along with Wally Wood and Ditko were the first artists I learned to identify.
Every time you hear Ed's voice again in these episodes. Can't help but feel a hole in the stomach. It's unfair. Don't know exactly what Ed did, I dont know what could have happened if he stayed alive, but I would prefer that to this. This shouldn't have happened. Now even after dead, people would prefer to ignore any kind of recognition or legacy for whatever happened.
Reed Crandall left art to be a janitor for Pizza Hut!
What?! That blows!
Holy fuckin shitballs
RIP Ed. While I haven’t watched the channel religiously, I’ve been following it almost since the beginning. My heart goes out to everyone here in the comments section. The fans of the channel, its a confusing time try to stay strong guys.
At BICS yesterday, I wore my shades all day behind the table, rip Ed!
❤
Crandall was not an unimaginative artist, check out his Captain Triumph stuff specifically his take on werewolves. I think Ed was confusing Crandall with George Evans.
Normalize adult diapers (with Liefeld pouches)
WTF man? WTF?
