That part is actually semi realistic. Our brain is a amazing thing. The moment something traumatic happens, the brain floods the system with adrenalin and all sort of other stuff. Creating this, almost tranquil state of mind. I once FLEW of the road with my car, and once the car stopped moving. Everything was just, so damn peaceful, my mind was so clear and ready to handle what ever came next. It was actually quite blissful. Wasn't until months later when I was driving and hit a little patch of water causing me to skid just a tiiinyy bit, that I actually broke down. Like the fear and terror I should have experienced back then, came flooding over me. Even Rudy as he was dying, was making calculating choice's and fought back, then this happened, and reminded him of it.
