Great video! Thanks to your PRAM battery tip I just fixed my power book!
Hmmm yeah i wonder if that’s what happened to mine.. I think it’s probably the frayed power cord and no battery but I’m gonna try it
haha
OMG I love the new length of these videos, keep up the great work!

I Love Fixing up old Mac Computers. This weekend I Picked up 2 2007 Black Mac Books.
Both Mac Books were owned by College Kids and were plastered with Stickers. Mixed and match the best parts and build a beautiful version of a Black Late 2007 Mac Book . Replaced the old HD with a SSD and Upgraded the memory, the system works great !!
Windows too
How about running current on it
Am I the only who is upset that those funny and original Apple Mac memes are now probably lost forever?

Never use oil for cleaning heatsink or CPU or use Alcohol after the oil otherwise it react with silicon based thermalpaste and hardend.
Love your videos! I'm quite a tech head and love seeing this sort of stuff. I have a 2007 HP Pavilion DV6302 laptop. Not really old but compared to nowdays it's getting there. 12 years old and it's still going strong.
I love my PowerBook Pismo. Got it in May 2000, and I still use it to this day for HyperCard Development. I often switch back and forth between MacOS 9.2.2 and 10.3.9 (I never upgraded it to 10.4.11)
The whole cleaning process is so suiting and calming.
One one shot you have no firewire ports, on another shot you do....
Definitely happy with the longer videos, keep up the good work Psivewri!
Great video! I love old relics of the tech past
Amazing video! I love these old notebook's restoration videos. And those powerbooks still look so nice, right?
Really enjoyed this one. Wasn't too long, but long enough to get the detail. Awesome!
Love your video! It's really satisfying seeing all those old laptops getting restored :D
I used to be a computer technician and watching you restore old computers reminds me of old times - It is also satisfying to watch when you're cleaning the computers! Love that eucalyptus oil xD
Awesome job with this video man. Really enjoyed it.
Love these videos, the production quality is always top notch!
Amazing video! Love your channel! Keep it up!
Nice! I have a 1998 WallStreet PowerBook in my garage, still working. Runs OS9 and is pre-USB!
Loved these pismos. You did a great job cleaning her. Great video
Definitely liking longer less frequent videos! Keep on going i really like ur vids

Excellent video. Also, thank you for some good tips for us who still use these vintage black and white apple laptops. Own the model right after this, the G3 Powerbook Firewire because in addition to having two USB ports it also came with with two Firewire 400 ports. This truly is my favorite design of all of the apple computer laptops because mine has a built-in airport card, two "hot" swappable bays for (i.e. batteries, DVD-player, Zip drive, Super Disk drive, floppy drive, and extra memory), accepts type I and type II expansion cards, for wireless printing an inferred port. audio-in, port, audio-out port, internal 56k modem port, Ethernet, port "S" video port, and VGA monitor port.
The Lombard Macbook! The designers in the office I shared had those and I was always coveting one, but could not afford them at the time. Still looks superb, its brilliant that you gave this one a new lease of life 👍🏻
you make really high quality, and very pleasant vids. ty
Really enjoyed the longer vid thanks mate
The clip you made on the PowerBook with the Sony DV camera looked like some obscure 2000's tv show like it was spot on with the whole vibe and aesthetic
What do you use to clean the chords?
Man, I really like this channel. Passionate about old tech and fixing stuff. Subscribed!

Good job on the old Mac!!! Nice to see the evolution of Apple.
Marble Blast Gold! That game brings back so many memories. I remember playing it on the iMac G5s we had in primary school.
Honestly I like watching this guys vids and subed just for the cleaning bits
Really like your videos, good work ! Continue !!!

I had PowerBook G3 Lombard. I loved the easy access to the hard drive, memory and even the processor too. I miss that thing.
I thoroughly enjoy your videos
Great video, now I'm off up into the attic to retrieve an old power book that I have up there 😀
Wow! I am impressed you were able to edit a video on that PowerBook.
I had one of these. They were available in 400MHZ and 500MHZ models. The lower speed was always the best bet as they had the same cooling system. The dual bays were great as you could run 2 batteries for long use, or no batteries with the floppy and CD drive (using a power brick).
the video you edited in this vid is so awesome!! haha
You make amazing content. Keep it going!
from india.you are a genious and youre videos are so satisfying to watch.
you should get a small museum and have them displayed. it will be awesome !!! very nice restoration works !!! keep up the good work!
Hey man a little tip I learned from the 8-bit guy use WD-40 to clean the left over residue from stickers
GEEK TECH ah 8-bit guy. I love that guy
@@ThatOneName_ me too man I learn alot from him and I love old tech that's why I like Psivewri
GEEK TECH that’s almost the same reason I watch this guy.
Note: You can use Goo Gone to get rid of stickers and sticker glue easily. I use it on a number of restoration projects and just in general. I really do recommend it, you wouldn't run the risk of damaging the computer.
This Powerbook comes from the time when Apple used to put as much effort into the design at the bottom of the laptop to the top. Great little machine.
Great video man, respect !!!
That’s sick!!! I love you’re videos
hi there, nice video as always.i got the same Apple Powerbook G3,can you upgrade the ram and hdd?

I died at the marbleblast gold!! So many memories from primary school 😂
quick question, why do you use eucalyptus oil so much? does it have any advantages against plain alcohol or other cleaners?
I have a PowerBook G3 Pismo and it works, except the power connector seems not to work. I can plug in AC adapter, but it doesnt charge the battery. If put in a charged up battery, then I can power it up just fine.. so i think the DC power supply on the PowerBook is broken somehow?
That laptop is in better condition than mine! Just a little jealous. :D
I still love that model. The accessibility is great and I just love that flap in the back that shows the port markings. If the hinges and battery weren't toast on mine I might just still be using it.
Fun fact that you didn't mention in the video: you can put a battery in the DVD compartment as well, so you could have two batteries in.
There’s something in the way you speak that I find soothing!
You are the tech mate that everyone needs after raising eBay and the local Sunday morning swap meet markets
older hardware was so much easier to take apart it seems like
The powerbook was for professionals so it was easy to access the critical things such the CPU, ram and hard drive. However the ibook G3/4 of the same era was for consumers and that was a pain to take apart, over an hour to just get to the hard drive but yeah you are right to an extent. It's just if the manufacturers want to make it easier to work on and back then they probably did alot more than before.

Did you happen to get 2 of these Powerbooks? I can see at 5:32 the rear I/O had firewire, but at 7:33 there was no Firewire, and the old SCSI connector was there instead. Good video, just curious about that.

What Mac OS runs on this one? Was the Tiger the last one supported on this one or some earlier version?
Great video! Greetings from Germany!!!
So how many of these G3 Powerbooks did you use for this video, at timestamp 7:32 you show the back panel to a Lombard G3, which has no Firewire ports and has mini-SCSI, but your doing video capture and edit with firewire, which was on a Pismo G3, which has firewire in place of the mini-SCSI port.
Woah that looked easy to open for a laptop... Especially a MacBook!
It’s a PowerBook
Marble Blast Gold was my childhood!!
Oh god i love so Much marble blast gold i Played it on My imac g5 on My powermac g5 and on My macbook pro late 2008 p.s. I love your videos so Much
I'm not a computer technician, so I would never mess with a laptop that I know doesn't work. I love your videos.
correction: the yo-yo charger came with the original iBook, and the PowerBook G3 had a black charger. Solid video nonetheless. :) Keep 'em comin'!
What do you do after building the computers?
