I have a 2021 Sport 2.0T / 10 speed auto. OEM tires (65% tread) and 17,000 miles. K Tuner 1.2 with stage 2 map. PRL ethanol sensor, and the ethanol map activated in K tuner. 93 octane and 33% ethanol in the tank. If cruising at 40 mph on dry concrete road, it will spin the tires if you floor it. Those two things are possibly the most performance you can gain for about $1,000. HUGE torque gains. Count on it. 😁

Great info Chad. I've been running a hondata with a stage 2 tune on my 2018 2.0T or almost 2 years. No problem at all. I can toggle between the factory tune and the stage 2 using my eco button. There is a very noticeable performance difference between the 2 tunes. Worth the money for me.

Thank you for the watch! This past weekend I purchased the Phearable Stage 3 tune and will be testing / comparing it to the KTuner Stage 2. From what I've been hearing, it's "improved" over the KTuner Stage 2 and if that's the case you might want to consider buying your KTuner from Phearable (I am not affiliated with them) as they include their Stage 3 tune for free, saving $179 (currently).

For some reason it took me several tries to get the jb4 firmware loaded/updated because it kept throwing check engine light and other lights but eventually it loaded and synced with the jb4 app on my iPhone. You can definitely feel the difference, it pulls harder and wants to breaks loose the tires with minimal throttle input, I only have k&n drop in filter and 91 octane, 93 is recommended with map 2 but I don’t have 93 in my neighborhood but it appeared to pull just fine in map 2. Worth the money!!

@@TheLemonFactor without having first hand experience with the kTuner or hondata , couldn’t really tell for sure what the difference would be, but it seems like kTuner is probably the better due to software tuning instead of intercepting ecu and tricking it via jb4 but I still have 30miles worth of warranty so I don’t want to jeopardize that! No I don’t plan on installing more than just a tune and air filter.....I don’t like the CEL and no cat down pipes, you can smell those from a quarter mile when driving behind cars without cats...

I may be wrong but in my mind they are this... 1: loose warranty ..... 2: gas gets more expensive from both having to purchase premium fuel and your fuel economy will go down even under normal driving conditions.... 3: with out an LSD or some serious performance tires its hard to lay down the power in this car .... are there any other cons you can think of or am I way off base here? If you do have an issue with the car that can be contributed to the tune, I’m sure the dealer/ Honda will void the warranty for it. With that said, the off the shelf tunes that come from KTuner are pretty safe based on the data logs I’ve seen. In addition, I haven’t heard of anyone having any issues 🤞

Chava, Congratulations on your new car! Personally, I’d give it some time. Let the car break in, and get to know how it feels stock first. And remember, some dealerships will give you a hard time for any warranty work if they know that your car is tuned.

I just got my ktuner and installed the 2.2 stage. Everything loaded as advertised. Got the Christmas tree warning lights but after driving for about 1/4 mile it went back to normal. Here's my problem. I went home turn the car back on and I get the Christmas tree lights warning again as if I just loaded a tune. Reflashed back to stock and everything went back to normal even after starting the car 3 times. I reloaded the tune again and same story with the warning lights. Any ideas of what's causing my issues?

    • @TheLemonFactor

Obviously that shouldn’t be happening. You might want to try loading a different tune to your KTUNER then reflash with that fresh new tune. If you still have problems reach out directly to either KTuner or the place you bought it from for guidance.

Always, but it is the price you pay. Pretty sure Honda could tell if they know to look for it. As far as I know, there is only one way for a regular person to [probably] tell. Some ODB2 scanners can read number of times the car has cycled (started up). This count gets reset after loading a tune. Not definitive proof of a past tune, but really no reason for this count to get reset normally otherwise. Three year old car should have been started more than 50 times ;)
