- Today we’re talking about old man Zenkichi from the Persona 5 Strikers game. Essentially the chaperone of the group, he’s a hard nosed pubsec agent and is probably the oldest Persona user ever. With that here are my reasons why Zenkichi Hasegawa is Gramps Material.

Zenkichi is a really refreshing character. He's a carefree adult and his actor did a really great job with all the scenes. He's a funny as hell smug bastard but he can be serious when the scene asks for seriousness.
He's voiced by Tom Taylorson. Best known for voicing Octodad, Ryder from Mass Effect, and Daegon from Mortal Kombat

The moment I heard Zenkichi utter a single stifled laugh in response to hearing what happened with the guy who ran naked around HQ, my first thoughts were "I love this guy already".

I like Zenkichi as an adult with his own rebellion against the corruption in society.
I get the feeling that the moms, the dads and the middle aged people would really relate to Zenkichi. He's an old dude, but when he awakens he becomes one of the most badass phantom thieves of them all, showing that even an old dog can learn some new tricks.

Zenkichi is not only an amazing character, but also an incredible and well needed addition to the Phantom Thieves. The group really did need at least an older adult to act as a figure and basically a chaperone. He fits into the group perfectly, especially during the Okinawa trip when the group buries his body under the sand. i really hope for the next P5 spinoff, Atlus will include both Sumire and Zenkichi, fully completing the group

I love how he bongs their heads when they tried to go Leroy Jenkins. He's someone that was needed in a group. Not to mention, he's clearly a mix of Dojima and Adachi. And u can't go wrong with these two

I love him. I think that he was a great incorporation for the PTs, an adult who can keep an eye over the group but at the same time he acts like a kid as well. I totally lost it when he "sent" the card to the writer in Sendai.
It's funny that Ryuji is the first one trying to cover up the fact they're the Phantom Thieves when the entire gag of P5 was that they couldn't get him to shut up about being the Phantom Thieves.
Fun fact: Zenkichis Persona is based off of the character from the musical Les Mesriables. Hugh Jackman plays this main character in the movie adaptation. So I nicknamed Zenkichi, "Wolverine."
The protagonist of the book, written by Victor Hugo, is named Jean Valjean, like his Persona.
God damn, Zenkichi was really well built. In my first run, I thought "oh man, Gramps is THAT guy", but then he warmed up more to the Phantom Thieves, on top of BECOMING one, and its basically like "alright, my 1st favorite character in Strikers".
I hope to see Zenkichi again in some way or another in the future, because I really love him. Same with Sophia.

Yeah he never left my team the moment he joined. Sophia might be fun to play but Zenkichi is straight up busted.
He also can’t exploit any weaknesses from what I recall, which means less in Strikers but is still important

I've said it before and I'll say it again. I really think Zenkichi's calling card was a great idea. Sending an arrest warrant out on someone who claims to be a hero, showing it for all to see? I dunno about you but I'd get super pissed about that.

I am a huge fan of his persona, Valjean. I read Les Mis a while back, after originally playing Strikers and I'm just now seeing the references to the character Jean Valjean.

Quickly one of my favorite of the new additions to the game. Real shame we won't likely see a video on Ichinose since the interactions with her are limited and spoiler heavy to Sophia: Human Companion Material.

I love how the phantom thieves literally fought god and Haru’s driving is more terrifying to them.
He's like another comic relief material for good, and it's a nice addition to the cast

Zenkichi is almost like Dojima. Wife had an accident and a single father who had to take care of his daughter. However the difference is that Zenkichi is able to awaken his persona but not Dojima

Ken from Persona 3 is closer in age with the cast of Persona 5
now Persona 5 Strikers adds Zenkichi who's closer in age with the casts of Persona 1 and 2
so here what we might get for Persona 5 Arena
the Cast of 3 and 4 would comeback with the addition of an older Ken who would be about the same age as Makoto, Haru and Akechi.
plus with Zenkichi might add the chance bring back the cast of the original Persona and Persona 2
