The speakers are made for the water. UV treatments on injection-molded cones, Santoprene surrounds, baskets and grilles all help maintain top-shelf performance. If you want ONE primary color (red/blue/green) you only need to connect 2 of the 4 wires (black is positive). The other 2 larger wires of course are for the voice coil. But for the money & cool factor, get the controller!!!
Christopher Brown can u help me with how to hook this remote up? I get that 1 side plugs in directly into the Harnest.. But I couldn't figure out how to connect the other side to connect..
Surprised you didn't mention the 4 inch doesn't have the led and the cheaper model you showed comes in a blue only led option

Is the remote control waterproof? Is there a small current flow at all times after hitting the off button on the remote?
I would say "water resistance". There is a tiny gap around the battery tray & the top control surface is a bit like a press on sticker. I put mine in one of the clear zip lock bags that came with the speakers just to be sure

It is only needed if you want the light feature, but its not a mandatory connection.
Looking at installing these on a side x side utv. What size amp you recommend
