On today's River Treasure Hunt, while snorkeling in a river in Oregon, we found a TON of river treasure! We were in there for almost 8 hours, and we came up with lots of sunglasses (quay, ray-ban, Foster Grant, and more), a brand new snorkeling mask with a gopro mount built in, lighters, drinks, a whistle, and a Plastic Baggie containing some kind of tan substance. We opened it up and found out it was dissolved Cheese-Its! Most of all, I had a TON of fun with friends, on their turf. Thanks for the invite Cameron, Mason and Chico!

Those holes happen when sand or pebblesget stuck in a depression in the bedrock and tumbled by the current.

Those holes are called kettles. They are formed when ice if formed on that space and it slowly turns into that. First Nations used a technique with ice and rocks to make bowls.

Those holes on the bottom are called ”giant's kettle” and are caused by rocks laying in rapid water which causes them to rotate and scrape the bottom of the lake. And after a period of time these holes get deeper and deeper. Smarter every day!

Those holes are caused by water erosion. Here's a sweet tip, Prospectors love those holes in rivers because gold settles into the bottom of them.

Those holes in the rock are caused by other rocks being swished around by the current till it erodes the rock away to form holes!😝

2:25 I'm not an expert so I might be wrong but It's called a hole. Holes are hydraulics on a river that are created by water running over different obstacles and drops in gradient on the river bed, which has an effect on the current and river flow.

The holes are usually caused by a rock getting in a small crevice, after time as the water current rolls it around in the crevice, they wear around the edges it gets bigger. The stobes get replaced with bigger rocks and the saga continues. Ive seen these 3 feet wide and over 6 feet deep in the Catskills in N.Y. straight down, holes on the river bed. Usually shallower rivers like you have there.

its caused by a big rock spinning on top and it spins down, its actually a really good place to pan for gold
Doesn't really matter how big the rocks are, it's enough with sand with a bit bigger rocks on top. Current makes the sand and the small rocks to spin, witch then, incredibly slowly makes a hole in the rock below.
There wouldn't be any rock if it was erosion. It would be like the Grand Canyon. Erosion is EVEN and causes LEVEL VALLEYS and not SINGULAR HOLES.
